You need a DC to use a Nexus Card.
I would reccomend buying a Double Power from levelsix.com if they still sell it. It looks like a Mini DC, and you can hook 2 VMU's into it. You hook the Double Power into your PC, and you can transfer saves to and from any VMU. You can even expand the space on almost any VMU from 200 to 240 blocks! I did it with my official Sega VMU, and PSO and other games work fine with it.
VMU games run normally also.
