OT : DC Boot of CDR (?)   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #287 of 1156 |
Okay, this is a bit off topic, but I figure its probably of interest
to the people here.

You might have heard about the DC:UK coverdisk fiasco (for them) which
saw a coverdisk demo version of Action replay (limited to cheats for
half a dosen games) capable of playing Imported games - not bad for a
£2.99 magazine.

Because of this accident, the magazine has been pulled (although it
can still be found in some shops)

Anyway, this bit of into is only here because my brother read on a
message board somewhere or other that it's possible to write the image
of the coverdisk [ http://jove.prohosting.com/~sonikku/Dc-cdx.rar ] to
a normal CDR, and the DC will boot from it!

I have no idea if this is true, but if it is then it's the gateway for
self-made dreamcast software (How's that NetBSD port going?)
