Everyone--
I'm pleased to announce the Alpha release of my port of Soeren Gust's
VMU communication routines to the PC parallel port (under windows). This
program allows uploading and downloading games and files using a
relatively simple parallel port adapter (only 3 resistors and/or some
other sort of voltage limiter).
This release can be found here:

This is an alpha version, so it's really ugly-- both in terms of
compatibility and code. I've got the gory details on my webpage. I've
got some work to do before it gets integrated back into Soeren's code.
I currently don't have any info on testing your PC parallel port to make
sure it will provide compatible voltage levels; if you don't know how to
do this, then please wait until I get a write done. I found that my PC
puts out 3.3 volts on outputs, but the inputs are pulled up to 4.75
volts through a 2.2 k ohm resistor -- by pulling down the inputs with a
4.7k ohm resistor, I limited the voltage to 3 volts.
Finally, I get to run code on an actual VMU! woo-hoo!
