I've always thought you could make a fortune selling on old refurbished
486s and A1200s with Free net accounts - pick something up for next to
nothing from newspaper small ads, and sell on as an "internet computer"
for alot less than the cost of a dreamcast! *gig*

Is that delay for sound and video, or just the video? (If you can get
continual sound, but webcam style pictures, I'm sure it would be
acceptable)

Really the biggest problem with NetCams, is sound quality (if you've
ever tried to play real video / quicktime tv station feeds you'll know
how bad the audio quality can be!

There's a picture of a DC Mic on page 24 of the latest UK Official DC
Mag. (The mag says it comes bundled with the game "Seaman" in Japan.
The one here looks like the kind of mic you get on hands-free
headphones (a spherical mic with a blue-green foam cover, that is
attached to a VM like card via an inch (or so) long arm.
