I've been to the store in person, they're located
on 32nd st in front of Madison Square
Garden.

Their VB selection is very poor, only a few common
titles, I figure they're clearing it to leave space for
next-generation console.
Heh... this is regarding my note about
www.gexpress.com

DON'T order from them unless you are desperate. I
ordered four games and an AC Adapter/Tap set from them,
all of which were said to be in stock, and they only
shipped three of the games. I sent them FIVE BLOODY
EMAILS asking where the other one was and why they had
deleted it from my order; it took them two weeks to
finally respond that they HAD answered every email I sent
them (I'd like to know where those other four emails
went)and that they were in fact out of that item.
Throughout the email they made it all seem like I was the
stupid buffoon whose fault it was. They ALSO charged me
a dollar extra, which I wouldn't have had a big
deal with if they had at least let me know why it was
there... then they denied it, and the charge mysteriously
went away.
A very lacking company, in my opinion.
Everyone who wants to get games has checked out
ebay at least once. What about the other bidding
services. I checked out yahoo today and didnt find much on
VB. but i found some rare games for cheap prices and
not many people are bidding on VB stuff on yahoo.
Just an idea.
Dani, yo tambiem hablo espanol (vivia en Costa Rica), y puede preguntarme en
espanol con la consola y los juegos. La mayoria de los juegos (Virtual Boy)
estan en EEUU.
Dani:

Welcome to the club, if you're

Hi there. I'm also a relatively new member of
this club, and I think I was offered to become a
member because I am one of those VBoy "seekers" out
there and I have searched for "Virtual Boy" at E-Bay.
Well, it's always good to be a member of these clubs
:-) They help you increase your
collection!!!

Dani.
I just got invited to join this club. Im not
really sure how, but i just got a Virtual Boy and i
think it is one of The coolest things ever made. Ive
been playing for hours on end and im not getting bored
like with any other game. Well thats all bye.
My first club to join in months...
Quick note
for all you looking for the more common
American/import games: www.gexpress.com has many titles at $6 and
$8, including the AC Adapter/Tap set for $6! Shipping
depends on where you live, but it's still a great deal
(unfortunately, they don't have any other periphreals or the VB
itself... oh well).
--Glover GonRock, Master of Ice and

I thought I gave it when I signed up, but here it
is:

abieler@...

I'd like anyone on this list who is
interested in
software or hardware development to get in
touch!

I'd especially like help with cracking the sound
hardware!

Thanks,
Amos (way2poor)
Well, the way I see it is that activity attracts
but inactivity only creates boredom. What I mean is
that people are only going to stay interested in
PROJECT: VR-64 and the VB as long as there is something
going on. There has to be a certain amount of activity
to keep gamers from losing interest and going off to
find something new to do. This is why I want a lot or
participation within the VB community as a whole, and
especially within the ranks of TEAM: VR-64. I figure the
best way to initailize this is to start up a weekly
chat session and then expand into other things. As far
as the optimal time is concerned, I'll have to
consult the members of the TEAM. Majority rules of
course. I just received the 50th name on the petition
today, so we're halfway to where I want to be when we
first attempt this. By the way, you never answered my
question: Have you signed the petition yet? If not, please
go to www.geocities.com/team_vr64 and do so. Later!
Vince, you are the club founder right? Thought
so. Okay, here's the deal. I've been thinking lately
about setting up a time among TEAM: VR-64 members to
chat about the VB/VR-64. As of this writing, only 49
people have signed the petition and I wouldn't think of
trying this without at least 100. After all, if I
e-mailed 100 people about it maybe 30 or so would show up.
That's a good starting number. So I'm thinking that once
we have 100 members we could try to start up a
weekly chat session or something. I don't know; it's
just an idea. But it just might breathe new life into
your club and it would bring the TEAM closer together.
Tell me what you think. . .
Right now, I have Mario's Tennis, Mario Clash,
Golf, Galactic Pinball and Wario Land. I used to have
Red Alarm and Teleroboxer as well. Lately I've really
wished that I still had Red Alarm. It was a good game. I
also want Vertical Force. As for V-Fishing, I'd like
to have it as well, but it's something about import
games. I just think it would really bother me to not be
able to read what everything said. Thanks for signing
the petition. I appreciate it! I can honestly say
that I don't know if it will work or not, but if helps
at all to bring the VB community together then it's
worth it regardless. Talk to you later!
I know what you're saying, but you have to
understand my line of reasoning. I think of it this way:
Five years ago, the VB was released for $180. It was
32-bit with a red and black monochrome display. Okay,
cool. . . Now it's five years in the future. Technology
which would have been much too expensive 5 years ago
could not be made available for a reasonable price. So
the same $180 now--five years in the future--a much
more advanced system could be produced. And you have
to keep one more thing in mind as well: It's gonna
take to get all the names for the petition, to put the
packet together and for Nintendo to decide to develop
the system. So we're really talking 2 or 3 or more
years from now which would be 7 or 8 after the VB. And
one last thing: If Nintendo answers with an emphatic
"NO!" then I'm not opposed to taking it to Sega, Sony
or anyone else who will listen. By the way, have you
signed the petition yet? If not, then please go to
www.geocities.com/team_vr64 and sign it. I replaced the e-mail link with a
form so it's totally hassle-free. Later!

Shokin_mdm: So far I have these games:
Red
Alarm
Wario
V-Tetris
3D Tetris
Nester's Funky Bowling
Mario's
Tennis

I want to get my hands on that Virtual Fishing, it
looks good and maybe one of the baseball games. I must
say a new 3d system would be awesome. Costly I would
imagine but awesome even were it only twice as good as
the vb. I emailed you so you can include me in your
petition.

neological.
Well, I think it'd be too much to expect from
Nintendo. It'll cost a lot of money to develop and remember
Nintendo did try to make Virtual Boy multiple color and
they couldn't, why? It would cost $75 extra to add one
additional color to the system (per unit), if you have basic
5 or 6 color VR system it would run $500 regular
retail just to collect the cost.

The other
solution is having hobby programmer develop games for it,
please refer back to the posts by waytoopoor. This
happened to Atari Jagaur and Lynx, both systems have a few
more games on the way. If we're to petition Nintendo,
I would only ask them to publish one game a year
for the system as there're many games developed and
not published.

I would like your feedback over
this.

Vince
The PROJECT: VR-64 site is officially up and
ready for business. If you don't know what PROJECT:
VR-64 is, then I'll go on and tell you that it's a
petition to convince Nintendo to develop the next 3-D,
full-color virtual immersion system. For more information,
and to sign the petition, go to
www.geocities.com/team_vr64.
As I'm sure you know, we VB fans are really a
very small group within the gaming community. So if
you'd sign the petition, it would be very helpful. . .
As of this writing, it's only been going for 4 days.
Progress has been slow but steady. About 35 people have
signed so far and I'm sure the number will be a little
higher than that by the time you read this. If you
would, take the time to go to
www.geocities.com/team_vr64 and send me all your information. And by the way,
I think I may have an idea to boost interest in the
club. I'd like to know what you think about it. . .
Well, this club is not dead, I'm still involved here. Yes, as with previous
posts, I'll join the petition plus inite more people into the club, so folks,
stay tuned.

Vince
What's up? Doesn't anyone ever come here anymore? I think the two Yahoo! VB
clubs should merge and make one mass club. That's the way to go in my opinion.
Make it more structured. . .
Congrats! I know you gotta be happy! What games
do you have so far? It's a real shame the VB died. I
was one of the few who actually paid $180 for the
system. It seems like everyone else put out $30 or
something like that. I think the technology could have been
exploited in much better ways with 3-D versions of games
like MGS, SF Rush and Quake. Now that the VB is gone
(practically at least) there's no system that provides an
experience that is at all similar. It's for that reason that
I am comitted to conving Nintendo that gamers want
a new 3-D VR system. So please read my post below
and sign my petition. I haven't gotten the PROJECT
website up yet so I have collected many names. But the
site will be up soon and PROJECT: VR-64 will be
underway. If you agree with my vision, please e-mail me at
ShokinMDM@... with your name, age and country you live in so
that I can add you name to the petition. Thanks and
congrats again!
Yes! I finally got my virtual boy from a trade
today. I must say I am pretty impressed, this was the
first time I had ever tried it. My favourite game so
far is Mario Tennis(cause I'm a tennis fan) and 3d
tetris is great too! Nesters funky bowling reminds a lot
of a certain SNK bowling game...I think Nintendo
could have done much more with this system with the
right people. It really is a one-of-a-kind console, now
I can understand why it's Vince's fave system. I
can't believe they are so cheap for something of this
quality, I recommend to anyone who hasn't got one to get
one right now, you won't regret
it!

neological.
I'm starting a brand new VB petition. But it's
not to re-release the Virtual Boy--that'll never
happen. Nintendo has already said that the technology is
too old. Instead, PROJECT: VR-64 is a new campaign to
convince Nintendo to release a new, more advanced system
that employs 3-D virtual immersion technology. The
PROJECT: VR-64 website should be up withing the next
couple of weeks. I need EVERYONE'S help on this so
please e-mail me at ShokinMDM@... if you would like
to go ahead and put your name on the petition.
Please include your name, e-mail address and country
you're from. THANK YOU!
