That I didnt know. I've intended on picking up a TG16 base unit for
some time now. I've seen them dirt cheap on ebay. Just havent gotten
around to it yet. Wanna make sure it has all the needed goodies tho.
Any problematic areas on the TB16 base unit I need to be concerned
with before I dive into a purchase?

Theres another HUGE difference between the original TG16-CD unit and
the Duo, and that is durability. I have a CD unit that I bought in
1990 that stills works great, and another one I found at a flea
market for $20, had it repaired, and its also worked flawlessly. As
for my Duo, I bought it brand new about 4 years ago from
Telegames.com and have hardly ever used it and it quit working. We're
talking far less than 50 total hours of use and it died. Get the CD
unit add-on if at all possible.

Well, TZD.com used to do repairs a few years ago on NEC equipment. I
had my Turbografx-CD unit fixed there, and its worked great ever
since. Now the only place I know that offers such repairs is
Retrogames.com and they are a lot more expensive than TZD was. My Duo
unit quit working not too long ago and it cost me $60 for them to fix
it.

I'd prefer to trade for US releases, but all offers are welcome. Be aware
that these hucards need a special adapter to play on US systems. I don't
have the adapter, which is why I'm getting rid of the games. Email me at
jhd7@... if interested.

Thanks,

If I remember right, the TurboDuo was the unit that had the CD and
the Card reader in the same console. The TG16 w/CD had the CD player
as like a piggyback attachment on top.

As far as shooters go, Aero Blasters and R-type are the only ones I
can think of. Hell, I forgot to add R-type on my want list. :)

Hey party peoples!!!1

Kinda surprised myself to find this site. So anyways, I've been into
the TG16 for years too. Have managed to buy a few games here and
there on ebay over the last couple years. I only have my TurboExpress
handheld. Wondering if there's anywhere I can find stuff for
it...namely the tv tuner accessory.
Mine is in great condition, as it gets a lot of use from time to
time. However, the volume remains up all the way and can just barely
hear it. Also the power jack is loose, so any movement of the AC plug
results in shutting it off. Aside from taking it apart, can anyone
suggest a repair for these problems?

On a side note...why is it that 3 of the 4 games I bought on ebay,
the sellers decided to throw in a copy of Keith Courage as if I didnt
have it already? I have 3 copies of this game now and dont care about
any of them. LOL

Alien Crush
Devils Crush
Bonks Adventure
Galaga 90
Victory Run

I just found this yahoo site (what took me so long??) and was hoping
to find a few good traders. I have been into the TG-16 since I bought
it the day it launched, and still consider it my favorite system, and
the most enjoyable to collect for. Anyone that has TG-16CD games can
send me their lists, or post here, and hopefully we can work

Hi guys

I'm new to this group - wish I'd known about it ages ago. perhaps
someone out there can help me: I've been looking everywhere for a PC
Engine LT SuperCD Adapter. I've just recieved a copy of Sapphire
which I bought on Ebay, and I can't play it. ARRRGHHH!
Some more advice too, (I always take, I never give!) what kind of
step down adaptor would you advise using; the LT is a new toy, i've
not been able to play it!
Will any 9v adaptor do, I do not want to damage the machine.
Seriously guys, the PC Engine LT SuperCD Adapter, I cant find it
anywhere, I'll pay good money for one.

I am about to receive a TG-16 that I got off of e-bay. I always
wanted one of these when I was a kid so I can't wait. I remember
playing it at a friends' house but to be honest I really forget what
games I liked. Can you folks help me out... What are the "Gotta
Have" titles!?!? I like shooters and rpgs if that helps any..but I will
play anything really.

Also..a couple other questions :

Is it worth getting the CD add on? And if so..how much should
you really pay for one?

I assume there is a ton of imported games for this, from what I
gather... how can I play these if I see them on ebay? I guess
there is a import add-on or something?!?!

What's the difference between the TG-16 w/CD and the
TurboDuo?

Any help would be greatly apperciated.

Just joined. Looks like you've been a busy group.

I've been collecting video games since the Atari 2600. My favorites
so far are the Turbo Duo and the Sega Saturn.

Someone introduced me to a little gadget that fits on the back of
your Playstation. It looks like a game shark and is suppose to let
you play PC Engine ROMs on your Playstation. So far I can't get it to
work. Anyone else heard of this?

Then I had someone tell me the web had software for the Playstation
that does this same thing. But I can't find any. Any ideas?

I would rather play the originals but who can afford them all. Like
Saffire (Saphire?). I played it at a friends home when it was first
released. I LOVED it. Been looking for it ever since. I've played
back-up versions but they are always flawed.

Anybody, know where I can find this title? Or at least a good back-up
of it. I'm DYIN' HERE!

Thanks so much.
Michael

Working Designs doesn't make RPG's, they only publish them.

Maybe some type of controller upgrade?
The plug you're speaking of is called a mini-den port
as oposed to the larger den port on the TG16 console.
