Not a turbo grafx game, but I really have to recommend checking out
zanacxzanac for anyone who likes traditional 2D shooters (blazing
lasers, etc...). It's a PSOne import. It runs about $50 from importers,
$40 if you can buy from a store in japan. I just got it in the mail
yesterday from www.tronixweb.com. It arrived two or three days after I
ordered it. I didn't think I would find a shooter I liked better than
the ones for the turbo grafx, but I think I've found one. Great music
and excellent detail and effects. The team from Compile did a great job
of combining distinctive Zanac themes with modern graphics and effects.
It's really amazing; it's been a long time since I was this excited
about a game (if ever). This version has a difficulty setting you can
change, and two players can play at once. You can also choose between
three ships. It also includes an original version of Zanac from 1986.
Screen shots can be seen at www.zanacxzanac.com.

They've also come out with a copy of Zanac for the palm pilot, which
runs $12. It's just a software download though.

I'm assuming this is the only 2D shooter for the PSOne, but if anyone
knows of others (imports or domestic), please let me know.

dunno, pick something odd for choice #3...=^P

It's been a MASS ghost town in here as of late. As a result, I
opened up a homage ezboard to the fallen turbografxnetwork. I'm
inviting any and all of the regulars to the tgnet that I built. Of
course, if everyone comes back here it won't be necessary.

Anyway, hope the naming of it is ok with you Justin, and if not, I'll
change it, just let me know!

I know that game all too well, i bought it on release date. I love
blazing lasers, but you have no idea how many shooters for the tg16
are equal if not better than blazing lasers.
You can really never ask me which game i favor the most, if its for
the TG16, i love them all. except the game that pisses me off the most
which is Deep Blue.

Sorry, man. Kinda misread your post, but I'm still sticking with
Blazing Lazers as best overall. For cool uniqueness factor, I gotta
go with Splatterhouse. The gameplay is duplicated, but not too many
games go with that whole Terror Mask theme.

I have to say Blazing Lazers. From the title screen, all the way to
the very end (which I have yet to defeat), that game is pure
greatness! The level design and variety, the weapons selection, the
graphics, the music and sound effects, the control... everything is
just so perfect in that game. I can only say that Blazing Lazers
ranks right up there with the finest games that I have ever played in
my entire life. But if I had to choose on reason why it gets my vote
for overall best... strictly 'cause it's so damn fun!
