Hey, Recently, it's been broguth to my attention
that with Windows 2000/XP (virtually the same OS) most
Windows 9x/ME games wont work. All of my Sega PC games
(other than Sonic 3D Blast, and Sega Rally 2, both of
which Sega can keep lol), and my other retro games wont
work... Raiden 2, possibly Puzzle Fighter PC, Darious
Gaiden, etc... I was curious if anyone knew any REALLY
good 2-D space scrolling shooters for SNES (as SNES is
the most effectively emu'd system as of now in
Win2k/XP). I already know most of the best puzzle games
(Puyo Puyo, Tetris, Tetris Attack, etc, etc). Any other
good games I should be mad aware of (obscure, but
awesome Japanese games, maybe)? Does anyone know anything
about Turbo Duo emulation, and if any (including
PAY-FOR emulators) have Turbo Duo CD support?
Who knows. I just know I always hear Gaiden
meaning side story. For instance, Genso Suikogaiden or
whatever it's called, is a side story to Suikoden. That's
where it makes sense, but, when it comes to Ninja
Gaiden, I don't know. But, then again, I don't think it's
called Ninja Gaiden in Japan. If I heard correctly, it's
called Dragon Sword something or other. Atleast, when I
one it on ebay, that's what he called it.
Hi,<br><br>I don't have many but here is a list

I don't think gaiden's ever been correctly used
as 'messenger'.<br><br>Den means 'story', and I
believe that gaiden(I'm not sure if gai on its own, or in
other words means the same) means something like
'another story'.<br><br>Other wise we'd be playing games
like Ninja Messenger, Phantasy Star Messenger, Shining
Force Messenger, and japanese people surfing the net
would be using MSN Gaiden.
Well, I play PSO offline, since I'm having
password errors on my MSN account using my dreamcast.
Grrrrr. Need to see my mistake sometime....<br><br>BTW, I
always thought Gaiden meant messanger, yet it's used for
side story a lot. Was I wrong, or used more then one
way, or what?
I don't like online games. Not my thing. I've
never played thru all the Phantasy Stars, but, I think
the online thing ruins the series. I'm dreading Final
Fantasy going online. I think they are doing it with
#11?? It's ok, if, there are seperate games that are
online, but, when a main game, in the series, is online,
that's weak. Maybe PSO is not part of the Phantasy Star
series, but, more of a gaiden. Either way, this is
waaaaay off topic. I will say, I'm looking at the GBA & I
am happy! For just Super Mario Advance, I'm
overjoyed, since that is my favorite Mario in the whole
series(I know, it's really Doki Doki Panic Dream Factory).
Castlecania looks cool as well, plus, you can play GB & GBC
games on it too! All I have is a crappy original GB, &
the Super GB. It would be nice to have something
portable, that looks good, to play my GB games on, plus,
they are 2D!!
Hey Zytred, I know you. ;-) When you join this
club?<br><br>I love Zelda on Nes, more then any of the other
ones. Course, that's why I'm working on my own Zelda
game. Or was, before I got lazy...<br><br>They Yahoo
goes and eats parts of my site.
Grrrr.<br><br><a href=http://www.geocities.com/ozzy_1996/Programing.html

some nice Y's and Exile pics somewhere too.
The gameplay is Diablo, the theme is
PS.<br><br>Just as Kabuki Den is an adaption of Final Fantasy,
but set in the Tengai Makyo universe.<br><br>And how
Kabuki Itouryoden is a fighting game like Street
Fighter, not a first person rpg like the main Tengai
Makyo.
Yeah, Zelda looked and sounded cool but when it
came down to it - it was still only zelda. With the
same formula of find the item, find the dungeon, find
the map, bomb some walls, find upgrades to weapons
find the mini boss defeat.. repeat.. It's why I gave
up on zelda games. I got bored with them quickly,
though the zelda for the gameboy was kinda fun.
I think Phantasy Star Online was a great adaption of a 2-D game to 3-D. Too bad
they adapted Diablo, and not Phantasy Star. Oh well, at least the first one was
kinda 3-D.
I don't know, I was bored with it. Mabye if I
played it now. But, then again, my tolerance for 3d
games has gone down since then, so, maybe not. Zelda,
seems pretty cool though. Even though I loved Final
Fantasy 7, I wish they all looked like 5 & 6. And WHAT
ever happend to Dragon Quest 7? I was looking forward
to that game! And, while I'm at it, where is Lufia 3
& Suikoden 3??
I'm looking for a few TG games:<br><br>Chase
HQ<br>Super Star Soldier<br>Devil Crush<br>Ordyne(must have
case)<br>Magical Chase<br><br>I'll take chip-only for everything
except Ordyne. I'll buy or trade, list is available at
www.gametz.com under userid 'kaosmagus'. If you're looking for
something not on that list, just let me kno and I might be
able to get it. Thanks!<br><br>-KM
head on over to www.gametour.com and check out my
rants on the current gaming scene. if anything, it'll
give you something to talk about over dinner! anyway,
let me know whatcha think of my ramblings...=^P
ex_seltzer, I have some turbo cd-r including Dracula X. E-mail me at
superkon@... for complete list if interest. I use ebay regularly, check
my feedback with i.d. superkon@....
Yeah, I could go forever, getting every game
known to man. I used to have like, 80 3do games, but,
sold alot of them. Spent alot on my credit card,
buying old nes games at $2-7 a pop, which added up & UP!
When it comes to PS2, that is the only new system, so
far, that looks like it has games(or will have) that I
want. Here is what is on my list: Suikoden 3(a
must!!!), Tenchu 3(if they don't screw it up. I heard they
want to make it a button smasher this time round!),
Silpheed 2(I heard WD fixed the slowdown, but, I enjoyed
it, with the slow down, so, I'm happy either way),
any Final Fantasy(they're still good, but, 7 is my
favorite. Not sure why.), Crash 4(even if it comes out for
anything else, I don't feel right buying it on anyother
system), Gradius 3 & 4, Breath of Fires(assumingly),
Lunar's, Chrono(Trigger) games, a new Secret of
Mana(hopefully better then LOM), Beast Wars TM2(supposed to be
an adventure game), Metal Gear 2 & that's about it.
Some of those are assumptions. Like I said, DC has
nothing to offer me, that I don't already have(albeit
scaled down, like, for instance, Tomb Raider 4 or 5) & I
don't even want to bother getting into the Grandia
series. That's all I need, is ANOTHER series to get into!
Maybe, when I find a DC for 30 bucks, like I did with my
Saturn, I'll pick it up, but, I still don't know what to
get, besides maybe Shen Mue, which I have yet to play.
Do I really need a DC? Game Cube doesn't interest
me. It's all 3d. Some games, are ok in 3d, like
Zelda, but, I still want a 2d Zelda! Guess that's where
the GBA comes in. Mario did not transition well into
3d. The game was boring, & I'm surprised people went
ga ga over it. I need a new 2d mario, & I don't mean
paper. Metroid might be cool in 3d, but, I still would
want a 2d one! My video gaming days are coming to an
end soon. Maybe another 4 years. I'll probably always
be into gaming, but, it's just not the same anymore.
that's the problem- everyone's trying too hard to
make games so REAL, but we all play games mainly to
get away from that sort of thing. sure i love stuff
like D2, metal gear, king's field, tomb raider, et al,
but when devlopers and game companies keep trying to
improve on the classics, look what happens (double dragon
or final fight vs. the bouncer, for example!)...=^P
A good point, of all the new systems coming out,
I'm only playing Dreamcast right now, the other new
systems I'll considers are Gamecube and Game Boy Advance,
I don't collect those, just buy the ones I really
want and play them, there're way too many new systems
coming out, IMO, PS2 and Xbox are just crap,
unfortunately that's where mainstream gamers are heading, I
have seen like 1 or 2 games I like on those platforms,
I wonder where all the new PS2 games will end up,
most are just sitting on the store shelf and
collecting dust, maybe eventually in the
landfill.<br><br>The other system I'd consider collecting is PC-FX,
but that'd take a while until I'm done with
LaserActive.
Not at all, it's all up to a person, if you
simply have and enjoy one or 2 TurboGrafx games and have
a little interest in the system, you're part of the
club. I have a complete collection of Neo-Geo home
carts and I wished I'd never started (spent way too
much $$$) 7 years ago, what matters is if you enjoy
the games, buy only what you like, never compare with
others, I have a good TG collection and I don't intend to
have a full collection (I can file personal
bankrupcies if I want full PC-E collection), just those I
enjoy.<br><br>To be honest, I started this club a year ago simply
because I was crazy over Turbo Express and there were a
lot of discussions of TurboGrafx stuff in my former
Neo-Geo BBS, sooo, I created this realm, heck, my
cofounder Kabuki has turned this place for diehard
PC-Engine fanatics, something I'd never
expected.<br><br>Same goes for my LaserActive club, I remember a year
ago when I was the only member, it's still a small,
very niche club but it has a sizable community, though
not as big as this BBS.<br><br>Vince
