Exactly, I love my turbo stuff.. but I'm not
about to dump it all just so I can rush out and buy up
all the new gorgeous systems. If NEC was to make a
new system I'd buy it in a second. But, I'm against
buying a sega dreamcast as I've never liked sega
stuff-ever. I owned a second hand genesis for a couple of
weeks and I hated the thing. A master system sells for
around 2.99 canadian for a bare console at our store..
heck one went for 69 cents the one day it had been
there so long and I still don't like em' really.. I
don't like Sony playstation systems as they all pretty
much suck in no uncertain terms. 90% of the games on
the old playstation 1 are all port overs from the
pc... and they look better and play better on the pc.
Nintendo, Neo geo and NEC are the only companies I like,
atari is non-existant anymore so I can't count them. I
sold my n64 and my games but, they too get pretty
crummy after awhile. So, I'll wait and see how the
dolphin fares.. in the mean time I'll scoop up more turbo
games and enjoy..
What exactly is Phantasy Star Online? It's not
Phantasy Star 5. I don't personally care about playing
games over the internet, so, if that's all it's for,
then I won't bother. However, it would be nice if they
released the new Sorcerian game in the states! I'm a
sucker for anything made by Falcom! The make some damn
good games!
He He He, You guys , Mint in box?
Minty fresh , Scratchless, Unopened,
Ill
sell my MIB PCEngine LT for the first $900
imagine what an unopened one cost?
Now I'm really confused.......
My friend has a
Japanese PC-Engine DUO
It's black with purple
buttons......
It is exactly the same as the Tuboduo - with
headphone jack.......

Just how many color variations
are there???
Always be wary of someone using th word
unopened.

MIB is a collector term meaning that the original
packaging has NEVER been opened at all.

-and by
virtue of still being sealed, the item inside is
considered to be Mint(In Box).

MIP is Mint In
Package.

MOC is Mint On Card.

Be very
careful when buying MIP/MIB items as well. There are
hundreds of amature collectors and scammers who say that
their items are MIP, when really all they are is
complete/incomplete WITH the box(or some times mint with
box).

If you collect Transformers, you'll see MIP misused
all the time.

You should always e-mail a
seller when buying something MIP, to make sure that they
know what they're talking
about.

*MIP/MIB?MOC.... does NOT mean the package is mint.

A
Turbo Duo with a sealed box that has water damage,
stains, and torn pictures, -is still MIP, because MIP
only pertains to the item inside.

If you want a
completely mint collectible, look for Mint In Mint Box type
descriptions.
Nope. Both the Duo R and Duo RX are
white.

Also be careful when buying the PCE Duo because it
isn't black either, -its a sort of dark grey that is
very noticably different than the the darker blacker
Turbo Duo.

Maybe they're trying to sell off a
PCE Duo as a Duo R, since it is pretty dark.
The main difference is that one is used and the
other isn't. I personaly would not pay any more for an
unoppened one versus a MIB one. I mean there is no real way
of knowing that the unopened one is really unopened.
They could have just repackeged it at any video game
store where they know the people and can use the
shrinkwrap machine.
Errr im confused when bidding on pc engine games
which in description says in an " MINT IN BOX "
condition and another one in an " UNOPENED "
condition.
How differ is it in price ?
or is it purely
depends on the game title's rarity or favouriteness?

Say there a bikkuriman world game in MIB condition
and one in UNOPENED, how much is it to expect for
each version in price ?

btw UNOPENED means its
still wrapped in plastic cover init ?

L8R
Phantasy Star Online will be worth buying. It's on display at the Tokyo Game
Show tomorrow. Yours truly will be writing about it and posting on the main page
at www.dreamcast.net
The PS2 costs $599 b/c you're buying it in
America. Of course you have to pay out the ass for
shipping & tax. It's under $400 here, and plays DVDs. The
crappy DVD units cost that much, and don't play games.
The most expensive games are 6800, and some are 5800.
That's under $70.

*ALL* companies brag about
their products, otherwise they wouldn't sell them.
Sega's good buddy Microsoft is the king of bragging
about a shit product. They psychologically convince
people that it's the best, and it sells.
I must say, when buying things like game systems.
Sometimes it pays to wait. I can't imagine paying $700 for
a 3do. I personally waited, & in 95, after buying
my "first" PSX(which eventually broke down) I bought
a 3do for $80 at Best Buy. Even then, it's not the
best system. Out of all the games I have(& had) the
only games I really like are Lucienne's Quest,
Guardian War, Trip'd, Strahl, Captain Quazar, Ice Breaker,
Return Fire, Gex, The Horde, & Lost Eden. Even at that,
I can get half of those games for other systems.
So, even though I waited to pick up the 3do, it still
didn't totally pay off.

But, I did wait on buying
a Saturn, & picked one up with a memory card for
$33 at a local game store! Now, that was worth it!
Even though I still love my playstation more(due to
games like Suikoden, Wild Arms, Final Fantasy, Breath
of Fire, Crash, Vandle Hearts etc...)the Saturn is a
hell of alot better than n64, & has some great games!
So that is an example of how patience can
deffinitely pay.

I'll wait a year or 2 before I buy
the PSX 2. I'll personally probably wait 1 or 2 more
years(maybe less) on buying a Dreamcast. Nothing has really
impressed me about either system. Ofcoarse, I haven't even
played the PSX 2 yet, but, I can tell what I'll like &
dislike.

As most of you know, I post on eBay quite
regularly. I've started to make a page that mainly features
rare games, but has some that just fall into the
"kewl" category. Since most of the west is relatively
ignorant of the Turbo, it is the biggest section.
Currently, there is only a Turbo/DC/Saturn section worth
looking
at.

http://www.hpo.net/users/texas/menu.html

Enjoy.
I avoid Nintendo like the plauge, except for a
few ROMS. I only like about 4 games on the N64, so
could never warrant buying it.

I'll have a look
and see how much a DD costs in the stores, find out
the shipping, and the main thing -- how much of my
time it will take to buy it, package it, and mail it.
If anyone is interested, email me.
Thats why PCE's still my favorite console. Its
got the best games and more of them.

But newer
consoles' supposed state of the art graphics don't spoil
older games for me.

I can still appreciate
different games for each console for what they are. If
anything, I've have an even greater appreciation of
graphics on PCE now that I can fully understand how good
they "were" for their time.

So I'll still
appreciate psx2 games as psx2 games.

But even a 1024
bit system released tomorrow for free isn't going to
make me jump ship from any platform, no matter how
good the games are.

It'll just be more fun
stuff to play with.
The Duo R is a second model of the PC-Engine
Duo(which was brought here as the Turbo Duo).

The
Duo R was made to be cheaper. As far as I know(I
haven't owned one yet) they removed at least the earphone
jack and the cd door lock. Also, it was supposed to be
more streamlined an efficient.

There never was
a Turbo Duo R.
Its kinda like the PCE Duo
2.

$150's an alright price for one if its in good condition
& complete(with or without docs/box).
As with any info I give, someone correct me if
I'm wrong in the least. This is just what I've come
to understand in my brief time dealing with the
holiest of grails, the TurboGrafx. ;)

I think the
Duo R is just a white version of the normal Duo. And
the Duo R is Japanese only of course(that I'm sure
of), so you'd need to get the thing soldered properly
to use the convertors to play domestic HuCards if
thats an issue for you. (I May be thinking of the Duo
RX.)
It depends on how bad you want it. To get the
best price you will need to try and locate an
individual in Japan who will buy one for you. I also want a
64dd and have tried all of my usual sources (theRage,
NCSX, Tronix.) They all told me the same thing,
"Nintendo is not allowing the unit to be exported ouside
Japan." This tells me that Nintendo is "forcing"
exporters from shipping the unit out of Japan. When I have
heard of people getting one the price has ranged
between $400 to $1000 just for the 64dd. Since it's
retail price in Japan is around $200, that's quite a
mark-ip for something that has been out for around 6
months.
