> Do you need to somehow select what cd driver
your going to use for the Magic Engine?

In my
case, the driver/software seemed to make a BIG
difference. I played on 2 machines. The first is a Win98
K62-400 with a Pioneer dvd and an HP cdrw. The second is
a Win95 K62-333 with a Toshiba cdrw and a Memorex
cdrw. Neither dvd drive recognized the Ys cd as
anything but a 1-track audio CD (and would play the first
track). Both cdrw's saw the CD as an audio CD, too, but
both booted the game from within Magic Engine.
However, when the cdrw software blew itself off (as it
sometimes will), I was unable to boot from Magic Engine
until I re-installed the drive software. I was halfway
through the game when I installed Win98. It didn't seem
to make a difference in the behavior of the drives
(or in Magic Engine). I don't claim this makes sense,
but that's how it worked on my machines.
