Sony hasn't announced any pricing plans for the
online network. You can bet on it though that it will be
comparative to ISP charges. I'll say anywhere between 19.95
and 24.95 a month. It comes with a Netscape AOL
browser. If you have a AOL account then you can use your
AOL account to surf the web on PS2.<br><br>Sony
should release details come November.
Ok, I'm probably not the first (or the last) to
talk aout this, but how much is the PS2 going online
going to cost? Like most gamers, I'm on a budget, and
if I'm gonna have to pay a monthly fee, then I don't
think I'll beable to get the online serive for PS2. Can
somebody fill me in on this please?
My PS2 library is building up nicely. Come Xmas
it's going to explode.<br><br>Games I
own:<br><br>Resident Evil: Code Veronica X<br>Gran Turismo 3<br>Red
Faction<br>Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore<br>Zone of the

with a friend for this one.<br><br><br>The next games
I'll be getting are:<br><br>ICO<br>Final Fantasy
X<br>Devil May Cry *for those of us who didn't sell our PS2
LOL<br>Jak and Daxter<br>Metal Gear Solid 2<br>Klonoa
2<br>SSX Tricky<br><br>Of course there are quite a few
games that I'm still debating on and or forgot to add.
Too many games!
I didn't get the first SSX Tricky, I heard it was
good but I'm tired of snowboarding. Then I heard it
was REALLY good and now I'm pissed I didn't get it.
I've been reading up on SSX Tricky, SSX's kinda sequel
kinda not a sequel, and it's sounds like a game I'll
get. They say that there is enough addition to warrant
a purchase even if you own the original SSX. With
that said, and me not owning the original I think I
might snag it.<br><br>Here is a preview at

Yeah it's dated July 9th. I don't always go to gamerweb so I missed it last
month. I didn't even read all of it, still is interesting though. The logo is
great, sooooo original.
Hell when 2006 comes around it won't matter what
console you get they'll all be able to do pretty much the
same things. Every hardware company has a R&D
department so they're always looking to make their next
console. They look at their current console and everybody
else's and try to design a better more powerful monster.
I wouldn't mind seeing the specs of Sony's next
console. Of course you can get out done when your the
first out like the PS2. The Xbox and Gamecube does some
stuff better than the PS2 because it was the first out
the gate. The next wave of consoles are going to be
insane.
I just got Resident Evil: Code Veronica X on PS2
last week and it does the Dreamcast version justice.
Everything has ported well, but there is something
graphically that seemed weird about it when I played it. When
I read the review for it over a GameSpot Joe
Fielder hit nail on the head, “The graphical differences
between the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions of Code:
Veronica are similar to those between the Dreamcast and
PlayStation 2 editions of Tecmo's Dead or Alive 2. The models
and backgrounds aren't as clearly defined in the PS2
version, but the colors are more distinct and objects
blend into the environments better. If you had to
choose which version looked better, the PlayStation 2
edition would probably win by a hair, but both have their
plusses and minuses."<br><br>It almost looks as if it's a
little but blurry in some cases. Don't get me wrong the
graphics are great but in some cases when you move it
seems a tad blurry, or as Joe said "aren't as clearly
defined."<br><br>I'm very pleased with it. Everything is up to snuff.
Certainly makes RE3 look like crap. RE3 was more of a
gaiden rather than a sequel. RE:CVX is the true Resident
Evil 3. Go get it.<br><br>Here are some reviews:

Capcom recently redesigned their site so give it a looksy. I like to make web
pages so I'm into this kind of stuff. I'm sure the rest of you could give a shit
lol. :)<br><br><a href=http://www.capcom.com

...will release on December 13. Now remember
North America get Metal Gear 2 first. The way I see it
is that Sony is making (paying) Konami to battle it
out with Cube and Xbox first. Eh, who cares? Finally
we get a supa sweet game first.
Sony has acquired Soul Reaver 2 as an exclusive
to PS2. Rob Dyer President of Eidos Interactive says
“Soul Reaver 2's selection as a PlayStation 2 exclusive
proves the strength and consumer popularity of the
Legacy of Kain brand. Soul Reaver 2 elevates the entire
series through its deep storyline, award-winning voice
acting, and advanced streaming engine technology that
showcases the capabilities of the PlayStation 2
hardware."<br><br>Chalk one up for Sony.
GameSpot has been doing some great stuff lately.
I receive their daily newsletter and there is a

r><br>I must say I’m quite fond of Square I've owned/own
the following games.<br><br>Final Fantasy VII<br>" "
VIII<br>" " IX<br>Parasite Eve I<br>" " II<br>Chrono
Cross<br>Xenogears<br>The Bouncer, boooooooboooo<br><br>I'll be
getting.<br><br>Final Fantasy X<br>Parasite Eve III, hopefully this
will one day become a reality.<br>Final Fantasy
VII,VIII,IX PS2 re-releases.<br><br>I passed up Vagrant Story
and Front Mission 3 which I hear both are great, I
just didn't have the money at the time they came out,
I was jobless lol. Way too many great Square games.
I borrowed Legend of Mana off of a friend one time
and it was cool but very different from other Square
games. I also played FF Tactics but never owned it,
that’s also a good game. Hopefully a sequel will be
released. <br><br>What are your favorite Square games?
Doesn't have to be on PSX, ANY Square game. I hear there
was a lot of Square gaming goodness on SNES but I
absolutely HATED RPG's back then. I was so turned off by all
the management type stuff. Then a friend rented FF
VII for my PSX one day and I got sucked in. Been
playing Square RPG's ever since.<br><br>My favorites are
Chrono Cross, FF VIII, and PE I. Chrono Cross is just
brilliant. The soundtrack, graphics, especially the
localization is top notch. A lot of FF fans dislike FF VIII. I
love it! There is something about it that just
separates it from the others. Not just the characters being
more human than super-deformed but something else.
Same goes for PE I. I just can't get rid of PE I. I
like the atmosphere in that game. I'm a sci-fi guy so
the whole mitochondria story just sucked me in. PE II
on the other hand I thought was a bit of a
disappointment. Hopefully PE III, if it will ever exist, will be
better. What does everyone think about PE II?<br><br>So
what are your favorite Square games?
Ok bud,you wanna talk about poor decisions,I got
one for you.How bout writing that the Xbox has NO DVD
capabilities. That's sheer stupidity, why do you think its coming at
$299 when the Cube is only $199.The Cube has no DVD
but the Xbox most certainly does.<br><br>Oh,and not
all 989 sports games suck.Gameday for PSX was the
shit,but for PS2,now that's a different story.
Yutaka Saito the producer of Seaman says that it
will be a direct port of the Dreamcast version with a
handful of improvements. ASCII will be releasing two
different controllers with built in microphones for the new
version. Seaman will release on PS2 Nov 15 in Japan and
will sell for 8,800 yen, or about $74.

Xbox has DVD playback, you just have to buy a
remote to use it.<br><br>I think PS2 is worth it but in
your case wait and see if they drop the price. They
might drop the price around the launch of Xbox and
GameCube. Sony has alraedy dropped the price in Japan so a
price drop over here is due soon.
Well, first of all if you own an N64 you are
accustomed to making poor decisions, so it is good that you
are trying to avoid that again. If you had asked this
question a few months ago I would have told you to wait
for the X-box for the PS2 was severly struggling
after its release, but now with games like: Onimusha,
GT3, Twisted Metal Black, Tony Hawk 3, MSG 2, Madden
2002, etc. either out or very close to releasing I'd
say the PS2 is a force to be reckoned with. There is
no doubt the X-box will be powerful but with it's
downfalls being the size of a VCR, overly sized
controllers, no DVD capabilities, and nerdy ass Bill Gates
behind everything, its is probably going to be another
N64 flop. Thats the long and short of it. By the way,
if your into sports games avoid ALL 989 studios
games they suck!! Good luck!
Hi,<br>I'm a new member to this club. <br>I
currently own a N64 and I'm looking (hoping to buy a PS2
for Christmas.) My question is: Is it really worth
that amount of money? Or should I just wait for XBox
or Game Cube? Because I'm all for a PS2, the games
(particularly, the college Sports, NCAA Football 2002) look
great!, But at the same time I don't wanna want my
money.<br>So what should I do?<br><br>Secondly: I'm in love
with college Sports. Ea Sports just released NCAA
Football 2002, but I'm also hearing 989 Sports is
releasing Gamebraker 2002...in november. I would just like
someone's opiniom of what I should do as far as games
go?<br><br>Please help!
According to GameWatch, Capcom Vs. SNK 2's
Japanse release, which is currently set for September 13,
will come packaged with a USB modem called "P2Gate"
for 9,800 yen.<br><br><br><br>This limited edition
bundle includes the USB modem and the modular cable, but
unfortunately lacks the browser and email
software.<br>----------------------------------------------<br>Sounds like great
news for overseas, hopefully they'll
do something like this for the US as well, lets keep
our fingers crossed.
