Jon from TROUBLESHOOTER fixed the reg. version of Mame I think back in vers. 87.  I use Mame32FX ver. .98 and it has not trouble with 2 guns.  If nothing else try Mame32 out and see if you have any luck.  I can get you some links if you can not find it.  Also you will prob. need a new rom set, I never had much luck upgrading Mame versions with old rom sets.
