If you want your product to be licensed by Nintendo, it can't
include anything custom that connects to the Game Pak connector.
The makers of the first SongPro MP3 player for the Game Boy
system had to dramatically restrict its capabilities compared
to the version for Neo-Geo Pocket system because of this.
But if you want to bypass Nintendo and build independent hardware,
there's no copyright problem with that in the United States thanks
to the Sega v. Accolade precedent. To eliminate possible trademark
confusion, place "$PRODUCTNAME is not endorsed by Nintendo" on the
screen immediately after the logo.
