I've added 2 new fields to the database for AC. Native Fruit and Time
Travel. Both are optional, but may help people so they know whether
they can sell their native fruit in your town. Also if people want to
be purists and not travel into a differnt time period, then they can
have a heads up.
I've added a XL spreadsheet I found online of Nook's catalog for those
that wish to keep track of their items independantly of the game.
I've added links to resources I have used while playing AC. Feel free
to add more helpful links.
I'll be adding all the special events to the calendar so you can keep
track of when a special event takes place.
In case you didn't see my response on GameFAQs...
Everything looks great, though there's really no effective method of
knowing who's added who to each other's friends list... Perhaps what
should be done is that everyone who joins makes their OWN table on the
database, and everyone that wishes to add that person posts THEIR info
in that database table. That way that member can constantly check
their section in the database and instantly know who's added them so
that they can do the same.
I realize that may have sounded a bit confusing... Let me elaborate...
Let's say I start a database table called "Pink Kitty's ACWW Info",
and monsteratomic wishes to add me to his friends list in the game.
He'd submit his information to "Pink Kitty's ACWW Info", which would
easily tell me that I've been added. From there, I can copy his info
into my own friends list.
I really think this method would be more effective. As it stands right
now, no one knows who's been added to whoever's list. Please take it
into consideration. =3
I started this so I might as well have office hours. I'll try to
host as much as possible but I'll try to make definite hours of
Tuesday and Wednesday 8-10pm EST to host. If you have specific
times you can host your town during the week, you should post it as
well so we know when to check online for you. If my town is full,
you should open your town, so others can join in.
I'm willing to work the database anyway you guys want, but I'm not
too worried as long as you guys get at least one person confirmed on
your friend code list, you'll likely encounter the other people as
they visit towns as well. Simply have both parties click Register
in the Heart Tab when you're both in the town and you will register
each other without having to enter your friend codes. I currently
have everyone in the database entered so if people visit during
office hours, you'll like get connected to other friendly people.
I'm toying with several ideas such as having an always on 24/7 town
through wifi much like Project Hyrule, exclusive to the 30 I hope we
at least get in this group. I can "permanently borrow" an extra DS
from work (I work for a gaming company) so all I need is to buy an
extra copy of AC. The only problem is if the game crashes while i'm
at work, it will be down until I get home. It will be a completely
community based town, so its up to you if you trash it or make it a
great town. If it happens I definitely want to have it shifted in
time so that Nooks is open in the town after Nooks is closed in our
real time so that way you always have a place to sell fish and bugs
no matter what time it is. Whether it will be shifted into the year
so you can catch fish and bugs from other seasons without time
travelling in your own cart will be decided later.
I still want to hold a design contest, but I haven't really had any
feedback from that. I'm willing to give away a golden watering can
as a prize.
Any other ideas, let me know.
Silas, that was a super long email, can you turn around and sumirise it for me?
Thank you...
Lohan

So I guess we have to agree on a code of conduct when visiting
towns. Send me anything that you think I missed.
-No burying pitfalls in front of gate (There is a known bug
concerning this which makes the gate disappear)
-No Chopping trees
-No deliberate destruction of flowers, especially rare flowers
-No picking up items, fossils, fruit, etc off the ground unless you
ask for permission (Shells by the seashore are up for grabs, but not
those in the town)
-Ask permission before you buy from Nooks or Able (except letters,
bottles, tools and medicine)
-Be kind, pick weeds
-Shaking trees is ok
-Digging holes is ok (as they fill back up when the hosting ends)
-No deliberate removal of designs on the ground
-All fish and bugs are up for grabs
-Ask before you take fruit from trees
-Ask before you swap design in Ables
-Ask permission if you can take from the dumpster
-Digging up fossils and gyroids is ok, but ask permission before you
keep
That said, my rules on my town are quite looser.
-Feel free to take fruit, fossils, gyroids or anything you shake out
of a tree or find in the dumpster
-Feel free to buy anything you find in Nooks or Ables
-Don't worry if you trample flowers or pick up designs, but just
don't do it willfully
-Feel free to take non-rare flowers from the west side of town (Ask
before taking a jacobs)
-Feel free to swap any design as long as it doesn't belong to a
visitor in the town

I can understand not cutting down trees and trampling flowers (on purpose) but
it should
really be the responsibility of the host to buy go to Nook's or Able's before
inviting people.
Picking weeds isn't really for guests to do. It really is up to the host to keep
their own town
neat (or pay people to do it for them).
Tree shaking is a bit like buying furniture from Nook's. You can get money or
furniture
from it and it's almost the same.
Picking up items should be allowed. The host doesn't have to open his/her gates
immediately when they turn on their game. It only takes a few minutes to run
around the
town checking for dropped or buried items. Same goes for the recycling bin.
The Able's designs is understandable because you don't want to lose any disigns.
Fruit trees... are iffy. Tree shaking is allowed but I agree with asking
permission first.
I still think my idea about the seperate database tables for members
would work more effectively. One person adds someone else to their
table, and the other does the same. Everyone knows who's on each
other's list. Unless, of course, everyone uses Yahoo Messenger, and
members leave messages for people they've added, and vice versa... But
then, not everyone uses Yahoo Messenger...
I agree with you in theory, hence why my rules for visiting my town
is much looser and follows much of what you said, but some people
have been working on perfect towns, etc and have used fruits or
shells to mark the acres or to just mark the trees (for growing or
shaking purposes).
Some people leave items out for you to catalog, but not necessarily
for you to take.
Picking weeds is obviously optional (I just meant if you saw one
behind a tree that someone might have missed, kind of thing, not if
someone time travelled and their whole town is covered).
I agree you should be able to buy anything from nook's or able, but
it also takes 2 seconds to say, "can I shop at XXXX?"

Jason, feel free to create your own Jason's friend code DB (or
whatever you would like to call it) in the Database section. I'll add
my friend code to it.
Personally, I don't really want to have to enter my friend code into
32 databases as I feel it defeats the purpose, is redundant, and too
time consuming. One feasibly could do their own DB and list all their
friends and their friend codes on the list, but I'm not into putting
other people's friend codes up with out permission and some people
I've connected to by clicking Register while we were both visiting a
town which means I have no access to their friend codes since you do
not see friend codes once they are confirmed with the green circle.
I'm really operating by the principle of if you're visiting a town
with other cool people, ask them to add you and vice versa. Also I
hope to start the always on AC town "server", which hopefully will be
a good meeting place and a good place to register each other.

Got the extra DS, will pick up the extra cartridge either today or
tomorrow.
I need suggested names for the town. 8 letters. Winner gets 50k in
bells.
I'm going to need heavy testing on it this weekend, so please come
and to the town when its up and lets see what it takes to crash the
connection. I'm suspecting having 4 people visiting may cause
problems as I was seeing that happening on Thursday on my cart, but
I'll be keeping this DS really close to the router so maybe that
will help.
Also I need to know your opinions on what time period to set up the
town. I really sort of want to make it like the AC Island on the
Gamecube. I was thinking of setting the town 6 months in the future
so people have the option of visiting summer.
If I put up the town this weekend, its just for testing purposes to
see how often the game might crash based on how we use it. The real
town probably won't start until Feb 1st. Please get people you
trust to join the group as spots will be limited and after the
friend codes fill up, no one else will be able to get onto the
always on town.
Send all suggestions and town names to monsteratomic@... for
now. Thank you.

Hello. I got your message on Yahoo Messenger. However, MSN is my
primary messaging service. You can reach me there at
jasonhatsuyume@.... Hope to see you around soon. =3
I've been given the ok, so I've added my own friends list / table to
the Database. If ANYONE here has added me to their friends list in the
game, I ask that you please submit your info to the list that I've
made in the Database. I'll be checking it constantly, so I'll easily
know who's added me without any trouble. From there I'll add you to my
own list in the game.
Welcome aboard everyone!
If you don't add your friend codes to the database, I can't add you to
the Always On Town. I'm hoping to launch this Sunday afternoon purely
for test purposes before we really kick things off. There will be no
rules of conduct and anything will go during this test period. Expect
to find the Always On Town friend code up on this site on Saturday, so
you can be prepared for Sunday.
I do know that if anyone powers off or loses a connection while in a
town, it will crash the town. Lets find out what else crashes it so
we can try to avoid it in the future. The problem is the town will
reside at my apartment and while I'm working I will not be able to
reset it if I'm not at home.
BTW Tom, you have 1 too many digits in the database for your friend
code. Everyone else, I have added you to my friend code list,
although I will not be available until Sunday.
I am sitting on 500 turnips that I need to sell today!
Since Wednesday Nook has only offered me < 100 bells
for them.
