FEATURE INTERVIEW:
A MEETING WITH FALINEA

Greeting fellow exiles. Not long ago I was hunting in the Savanna with
Phiros, Leogic, Farhope, Drue Dreemi, Goliath and Shard. Drue Dreemi
fell to a rather large maha and because Horus and I had an argument
over the best fishing holes on the island, I didn't quite have the
training to heal him. Things were looking bleak when out of the high
grass Falinea apperaed. She was nice enough to use her moonstone on
Drue Dreemi, and with mine we were able to raise him. Here is a
transcript of our meeting with her. I am not used to those of her race
and her large wings made me nervous, so I didn't say much. But the
others did.

Farhope says, "Greetings, Falinea"
Shard says, "hello"
Leogic asks, "What brings you out here, Miss?"
Falinea says, "nice grazing here :-)"
(Leogic nods)
Farhope ponders, "she is so nice!"
Phiros says, "I pray to you often, Falinea"
Phiros says, "It's so nice to see you agian."
Leogic ponders, "why pray to a winged centaur?."
Falinea says, "If I were a god, I might hear you Phiros, but I
appreciate the sentiment"
(Falinea grins)
(Farhope smiles)
Phiros says, "Ancients are like gods."
Crippler asks, "you got a moonstone?"
Phiros says, "To me, anyway"
*You don't quite have the training to heal these injuries.
Crippler asks, "you got a moonstone?"
Phiros says, "Anyhow."
Leogic asks, "Wouldn't happen to have a moonstone handy , Miss
Falinea?"
Falinea asks, "I'm not much of a healer anymore, but perhaps I can
help?"
Leogic says, "Thanks"
Falinea says, "ahhh"

Crippler says, "yippee"
Leogic asks, "What happened to your last one, Shatter?"
(Drue'Dreemi looks confused)
Falinea says, "yes, when Bartok took the altar"

Falinea says, "knocked me clean out, for several days"

Leogic says, "I heard it blew up"
Phiros says, "Good question"
Falinea says, "had to make a quest to my old home, to get a new one"
Leogic says, "I thought that your home island was blown up"
Falinea says, "I'm not an ancient, either, really"
(Farhope doesn't stop looking at Falinea, awestrucked)
Falinea says, "Gaia is the only one I know"
Phiros asks, "Oh really?"
(Leogic nods)
Leogic says, "We haven't seen her lately"
Falinea says, "I'm just a winged centaur"
Phiros asks, "What are you then?"
Leogic says, "Tell her hello for us."
Phiros says, "Well you got a pretty nice temple."
Falinea says, "I don't see her often either, but I will surely do so if
I do"
(Drue'Dreemi looks at the centaur questioningly.)
Leogic says, "By the way"
Falinea says, "yes, the exiles did me great honor."
Leogic says, "You hit awfully hard, for a healer folk."
(Phiros smiles)
Farhope exclaims, "Thank you, Crippler!"
Falinea says, "but they seemed to be under the misapprehension that I
am a god"
Leogic ponders, "hoof attack."
Phiros says, "Perhaps I can visit your tower in sacred grove sometime."
Falinea says, "I'm a fighter, actually"
Leogic says, "You are one of a kind"
Leogic says, "So they assume"
(Drue'Dreemi looks at the centaur questioningly.)
Falinea says, "but my folk can do both, which I gather yours cannot"
Leogic says, "Hm, nope"
Leogic says, "I'm not permitted"
Phiros says, "I would like to learn to have multi abilities like
yourself."
Leogic says, "Otherwise the moonstone fries my skin."
Falinea says, "I know of no way for that to happen--it was something I
as born with"
(Phiros nods)
(Farhope smiles at Crippler)
Falinea says, "one of those species things"
(Leogic nods)
(Drue'Dreemi looks confused.)

Leogic says, "I think that, living on an island, that it is more than
likely"
Falinea says, "one reason I'm not often here is that I continue to
search other islands"
(Leogic nods)
Falinea says, "hoping for a trace of my family"
Phiros asks, "What have you found?"
Falinea says, "nothing, so far"
Falinea says, "some signs, possibly, that some may have passed through"
Phiros asks, "have you found any other settlements?"
Leogic asks, "Have you visited the island to the sw part of the ocean?"
Falinea says, "yes"
Leogic says, "It looks barren from the ocean"
Leogic says, "but I was wondereing what was on it"
(Phiros listens)
Falinea says, "I have flown over it--there don't appear to be many good
landing spots there"
Phiros asks, "Where that be?"
Leogic says, "Coral reefs keep us from entering"
Phiros says, "ah ha..."
Falinea says, "it looks rather inhospitable from above"
Leogic asks, "Monsters or trees?"
Phiros asks, "Perhaps you can carry us there?"
(Drue'Dreemi looks confused.)
Falinea says, "I fear the positioning of my wings makes that
impossible"
Leogic says, "Hm, I dont think her wings would bear us."

A LETTER FROM TENEBRION

People of Puddleby,

I have been taken advantage of for the last time. Our verbal
agreement allowed a three zodiac period for your town to present a
written treaty. The treaty has not been forthcoming.

I held my end of the agreement at great personal expense. As a direct
result of my staying the hand of my mercenary guards and preventing
them raiding your town in vengeance for their fallen comrades, the
Darshak traitors were able to bribe a contingent of the guards to
rise against me. I was forced to negotiate new employment terms with
the ones who did not join the rebellion and it has severely depleted
my treasury.

I will no longer entertain any treaty negotiations with your town as
a whole. In gratitude for those who helped me quell the rebellion,
and in the last vestiges of hope that some peace may still exist
between us, I ask your clans to strike their own treaty agreements
with me. I hold one such treaty with one of your clans. I hope that
more might be entered.

The magic I have used to hold the fog around the shores of my island
grows weak. I ask that those who seek peace to refrain from any
invasion of my privacy and come to my domain only by express
invitation. Any other excursion upon my property will be deemed an
invasion and be met with force and retribution.

If you seek an audience, please contact my good and loyal friend,
Tyking, and he will inform me so that a time might be arranged.

My studies call for more of your pendants which allow access to
purgatory. I continue my offer of an exchange of a Sword of Souls for
a pendant to any who would trade with me and earn my gratitude and
friendship.

One of your scholars, Malkor, stole a Sword of Souls. I ask that he
be brought to what justice you have at your disposal and that the
stolen item be returned. I will raise a reward for any who return my
stolen property. I will offer the same reward for his head on a
platter.

practically immortal, just like the rest of us."

Valtrim says, "Trusted? No more or less than anyone else, I suppose."

Charlos asks, "Koric , how do you feel about Tenebrion?"
Koric says, "No opinion. I haven't met him."
Charlos asks, "and what of his interest in purgatory?"
Koric asks, "Isn't everyone interested in purgatory?"
Charlos asks, "Should he be trusted?"
Koric says, "An uninformed opinion is worse than no opinion, so no
opinion."

Charlos asks, "Undertow E'flei , how do you feel about Tenebrion?"
Undertow E'flei says, "I don't."

Undertow E'flei says, "As long as he doesn't start killing me when I
depart, I'll be happy."

Wisher says, "Don't really like him, necromancy seems nasty, but I'm
undecided overall"

Wisher says, "That worries me, I fear he'll abuse the power that takes
us there"

Wisher says, "Hmm. In general, I'd say no."
