FEATURE INTERVIEW:
TYKING II AND THE SWORD OF SOULS

Fishwrap here presents this special breaking news interview with Tyking
II regarding his Sword of Souls and his partnership with Tenebrion.
Tyking II's first encounter with Tenebrion began when he fell near
Tenebrion's keep.

Paramedic asks, "Where did you originally fall?"
Tyking II says, "In the Demesne"
Tyking II says, "Outside the keep"
Paramedic asks, "ok, and you yelled for Tenebrion?"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Paramedic asks, "what did he say when he saw you fallen?"
Tyking II says, "Nothing"
Tyking II says, "He just dragged me into the keep with his chain"
Tyking II says, "Then he said "Wait here for me""
Tyking II says, "He then brought me into a room bordering his study"
Tyking II says, "The room is split in half"
Tyking II says, "One half bordered the rest of the keep"
Tyking II says, "The other half bordered Tenebrion's study, but I
couldn't go over the wall"
Tyking II says, "Not really a wall, more of a fence"
Tyking II says, "Anyway, he instructed me to wait for him"

Tyking II says, "I really had no choice, being fallen"
Tyking II says, "He then entered from his study"

Tyking II says, "So, I found a party that was entering the keep"
Tyking II says, "I went with them, and once we were near the room, I
separated from them and ran into the "study""
Tyking II says, "Tenebrion came out"
Tyking II says, "He commended me and gave me his sword. Now, as
repayment, I am his servant."
Tyking II says, "I did not get this for free, as rumour suggests"
Paramedic asks, "Can you describe the sword?"
Tyking II says, "Ah yes"
Tyking II says, "I have a picture of it too"
Tyking II says, "It has a red/green handle"
Tyking II says, "An old silver blade"
Tyking II says, "And a screaming voice"
Paramedic asks, "it screams when you equip it, yes?"
(Tyking II): The soul of the Darshak enters the sword
Tyking II says, "Yes, it does"
Tyking II says, "If I equip it too much, the souls will escape"
Tyking II says, "Those are the souls trying to escape"
Tyking II says, "If the souls escape, the sword breaks"
Paramedic asks, "Tenebrion told you that?"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Paramedic says, "Ahh"
Tyking II says, "He told me that after I was annoying everyone with the
screaming ;-)"
Tyking II says, "With his sunstone, that is"
Paramedic asks, "is it an effective weapon?"
Tyking II says, "Actually, it's not as powerful as I expected"
Paramedic says, "hmm"
Paramedic asks, "so what does your service to Tenebrion involve?"
Tyking II says, "I have to keep him informed of events in Puddleby"
Tyking II says, "And inform him of treacheries"
Tyking II says, "I'm keeping a list of possible allies and enemies"
Tyking II says, "Also..."
Tyking II says, "I act as a sort of messenger"
Paramedic asks, "Are you comfortable with this? Is he a good person to
serve?"
Tyking II says, "Oh yes."
Tyking II says, "He is a great person"
Tyking II says, "Each time I've met him he has greeted me warmly"
Tyking II says, "It is the exiles that are being evil"
Tyking II says, "He never ventures into Puddleby anymore"
Paramedic asks, "So would you consider your loyalties more to him or to
Puddleby??"
Tyking II says, "Oooh"
Tyking II says, "I hate that question"
Paramedic asks, "tricky question?"
Tyking II says, "It's hard to determine"

roof."

Paramedic asks, "so this has worked out well for you?"

Tyking II says, "I have recieved a lot of bk, mostly from jealous
people"
Paramedic asks, "Why do people hate Tenebrion so much, do you think?"
Tyking II says, "Because they have been attacked by his guards"
Tyking II says, "The reality, however, is that we intruded first"
Paramedic asks, "What does your clan think of your new master?"
Tyking II says, "I still don't know"
Tyking II says, "We meet tomorrow"
Tyking II says, "I think they will kick me out"
Paramedic asks, "really?"
Tyking II says, "I was allowed in for a week, then they would evaluate
my karma"
Paramedic says, "ah that might be a problem"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Tyking II says, "I'm fearing that"
Paramedic asks, "do you like the clan otherwise?"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Paramedic asks, "So what does it feel like to be packing around a sword
with some of Elenis's soul in it?"
Tyking II says, "Well, Elenis sure isn't happy"
Paramedic asks, "he knows?"
Tyking II says, "Yes, he was in the party I was with during the
challenge"
Paramedic says, "oh I see"
Tyking II says, "He's denied it"
Paramedic asks, "he was not happy you got the sword?"
Tyking II says, "He said that wasn't the same sword"
Paramedic says, "hmm"
Tyking II says, "Then he flipflopped"
Tyking II says, "And said it was the sword"
Paramedic says, "so there's some confusion there"
Tyking II says, "Now he's down to telling me i'm full of it"
Paramedic asks, "has anyone offered to buy the sword from you?"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Tyking II says, "None are willing to pay for it, though"
Tyking II says, "Bigfat is trying to get me to give it to him"
Paramedic asks, "they offer too little?"
Tyking II says, "Yes, 0c"
Paramedic says, "that hardly seems fair"
Tyking II says, "Only two people have offered, though"
Tyking II says, "Tenebrion advised me against it"
Tyking II says, "He said I should keep it for my own use"
Paramedic asks, "What do you think would happen if you told Tenebrion
you are no longer interested in working for him?"
Tyking II says, "It would bring us into war"
Paramedic asks, "really?"
Tyking II says, "He'd probably try to kill me"
Tyking II says, "He gave me a unique sword"
Tyking II says, "Now all he has is a dagger"
Paramedic asks, "Do you think he hates the exiles in Puddleby?"
Tyking II says, "Some, yes."
Tyking II says, "For attacking him"
Tyking II says, "I don't think he's too pleased with Tarf"
Tyking II says, "But he hasn't mentioned names"
Paramedic asks, "What do you think of Tarf's deed?"
Tyking II says, "Absolutely despicable"
Tyking II says, "That was an innocent guard"
Tyking II says, "He did not attack anyone"
Tyking II says, "And Tarf killed him"
Tyking II says, "The guard can't depart"
Tyking II says, "His life is now over."
Tyking II says, "He might have had family"
Paramedic asks, "do you think in the future you will serve as
Tenebrion's emissary?"
Tyking II says, "Possibly"
Paramedic asks, "would you be willing?"

Paramedic asks, "Do you spend time at Tenebrion's keep?"
Tyking II says, "Nope. It's too dangerous."
(Paramedic nods)
Tyking II says, "Too many guards"
Tyking II says, "And Knights"
Paramedic asks, "have these events changed your relationships with your
friends in Puddleby?"
Tyking II says, "I almost lost a friend, Kalle', because she thought I
had become just like Tenebrion."
Paramedic asks, "what did you tell her?"
Tyking II says, "She thought that Tenebrion was evil because her
husband said so"
Tyking II says, "I know otherwise"
Paramedic asks, "who is her husband?"
Tyking II says, "Lightbringer"
Paramedic asks, "did she change her mind?"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Tyking II says, "I convinced her that I was still a nice guy"
Tyking II says, "I hope Lightbringer shares the same view"
Tyking II says, "A lot of people are jealous"
Tyking II says, "And are criticizing me"
Paramedic asks, "so what do you see in the future for you and your new
sword and your new relationship with Tenebrion?"
Tyking II says, "I see pain, and death, and suffering, if we stay in
anarchy"
Paramedic asks, "you think we need a government?"
Tyking II says, "We need a government"
Tyking II says, "Yes"
Paramedic asks, "do you think Tenebrion wants to be that government?"
Tyking II says, "He didn't even know of us until we invaded"
Paramedic asks, "but now that he does...?"
Tyking II asks, "He doesn't attack our town, does he?"
Tyking II says, "Really, I can't speak for my master"
Paramedic says, "I see."
Tyking II says, "But in my opinion, no."
Paramedic says, "perhaps I can interview him sometime"
Tyking II says, "I will ask him."
Paramedic says, "excellent"
Tyking II says, "I have lots of messages to deliver to him"
(Paramedic makes some notes)
Paramedic says, "I think that's about all for now..."
Paramedic exclaims, "thanks for an excellent interview!"
Tyking II asks, "Could I add one last thing?"
Paramedic says, "sure"
Tyking II says, "I'm not given VIP treatment by the keep. I'm still
attacked by Tenebrion's minions."

FOLLOWUP INTERVIEW WITH ELENIS REYAV

Paramedic asks, "what is your position on the sword that has some of
your soul in it?"
(Elenis Reyav laughs.)
Elenis Reyav says, "That sword bit is a dupe..."
Paramedic says, "Well the sword itself seems real and unique"
Elenis Reyav says, "It looks like Tenebrion's blade..."
Elenis Reyav says, "But his sword never screamed..."
Elenis Reyav says, "And I am certain is a fake..."
Elenis Reyav says, "And from the way Tyking took to it so seriously.."
Elenis Reyav says, "I'll bet some magic has been placed on it..."
Paramedic says, "I don't understand"
Paramedic asks, "you don't think it came from Tenebrion at all?"
Elenis Reyav says, "Tenebrion did give it.."
Elenis Reyav says, "But it is not the same sword that Tenebrion used."
Paramedic says, "hmm"
Elenis Reyav says, "The auras are different..."
Elenis Reyav says, "But he likely didn't expect me to remember that
during our... encounter."
Paramedic says, "hm"
Zeus says, "Elenis, you're just pissed because Tyking has your soul"
(Elenis Reyav laughs.)
Elenis Reyav says, "You're a funny fellow Zeus"
Elenis Reyav says, "For a self-proclaiming god who didn't believe in
souls..."
Elenis Reyav says, "You seem to suddenly know much of them."

Elenis Reyav says, "That sword which Tyking possesses is enchanted to
squeal as it does..."

Elenis Reyav says, "However I believe it also may possess the ability
to control its wielder a bit."
Elenis Reyav says, "Tenebrion likely does have some control of Tyking
directly."
Zeus says, "i was under the impression that Tyking's sword killed you,
and everyone it kills, it takes their souls."
Malkor thinks, "Well before midnight."
Elenis Reyav says, "No - it does not"
Elenis Reyav says, "It merely screams when it hits a critter."
Elenis Reyav says, "It isn't a very strong weapon..."
Elenis Reyav says, "Unlike Tenebrion's..."
Elenis Reyav says, "Which took me down in a single blow."
Zeus says, "well Tenebrion is more powerful then Tyking"
Zeus says, "so Tenebrion wields it more deadly"
Elenis Reyav says, "The blade Tenebrion used never screamed."
Zeus says, "maybe you just didn't hear it scream cause you weren't
expecting him to use it"
Rieger says, "my chocolate bar screams sometimes"
Paramedic says, "Elenis, maybe Tenebrion already had it equipped. It
only screams when you equip it"
Elenis Reyav says, "No... I remember that *very* clearly..."
Paramedic says, "hmm"

happened."

The Thirst

First off I'd like to say that Puck has had me 86'ed from his damn bar!
I spent more coins in there than the witches on their skin-dye. And
all because I had words with his knumbskull of a bartender. At least I
found out what all the different folks are offered to drink:
Humans and Dorfs get Beer,
Zo get Blood Mead,
Thooms get Fish oil,
Fens get Catnip Brandy,
Sylvans get Whiskey, and
Halflings get Orgaberry Cider.
I think...<hic>

The Hunger

My Uncle Dizzle joined the Order of the White Elephant before the
Ripture Wars and was a contributing member up until the Great
Forgetting. When I first joined the clan it was mainly consisting of
the same exiles from before the War. Much time has passed, and much
has changed, although a few crucial elements remain. We are still
Healer strong, as has always been the case. We are still very well-
suited towards rescues and have continued to excel in this regard. We
are still very much a clan of equals. However, we are not contented
with these alone. The Elephant has long kept its strength in check.
Finally, we have a test worthy of our commitment. No more tests of one
exile and one obstacle to show how many sleepless nights we've wandered
in our hunger. Instead, a test of might against a horde of Dwarves.
The Order of the White Elephant and The Dwarven Militia meet to do
battle in the Arena, <some day soon>.
The Championship of the Dun'ilsar is at stake! Place your bets now!

Stale Candy

Give your stale candy to newbies! They won't know the difference. How
would you feel if someone gave you candy, stale or not, when you were
fresh off the boat? Pretty damn good I venture. But don't give em
liquor or beer, Kahn is already hassling me about the delinquents and
drunken idiots wandering town.
