Pahaha, of course I'm still here. Well, you know, when here's here. Good
times in this group, I think it's great that it's been revived a little bit.
We ARE the top GameCube group on Yahoo, after all!

I picked up Smash Bros Brawl the other day. Man, that game's fun. And it's
got an adventure mode with some real LENGTH to it! Great times.

Kevin: How's Pokemon Revolution? I haven't heard much about it. What kind
of game is it? I've always been a fan of Pokemon (hence Pokemon Snap on
VC), 'cause not only is it cute way beyond what anything should rightly be,
but it's just a really cool concept. Is it more the adventure style, or the
   Stadium style?

   Great debates.....

I've been playing NFS Most Wanted on PS2 these days...
and a little NBA 2k8 when i feel like it... Its been a
slow gaming season for me.... My old PS2 broke, so i
was forced to break out the GC for a while... i
   eventually bought a new PS2... I think i need to get a
Next Gen system... i'm really bored of video games...
and it think its because i'm not satisfied with the
quality....... Although it could be my way of finding
an excuse to pay $300+ for a Xbox 360.... Even though
i detest Microsoft... i have to give it to them on the
   360....

Anyone out there got a MacBook they're selling? lol...

I have the game. And believe it or not, the first pokemon I ahve ever played.
Turn based so it's perfect for Wii's online service. It got a bad review from my
usual source Game Spot but my nephew loves it. granted he loves Pearl on the DS
more.

WHOA! Fichewl?Giovanni? and now Garrison...DANG! I was pleasantly surprised to
find posts from all of you!

Hennyway,I have been playing Super Mario Galaxy for the most part since it
came out,I played Mario all the way out and unlocked Luigi and got up to 94
stars with him and decided to play Zelda Twighlight Princess agian,I am close to
the end of it and then I plan to go back and complete Super Luigi Galaxy. I have
played a little bit of Pokemon Revolution (Wii) and if the Chinese girl that
keeps whippin' my butt is reading,it isn't fair for you to use your huge and
full powered Pokemon Pearl characters against a noob! shame on you!

I hope all y'all have been doin' good at life and games! keep posting!!

I promised myself i wouldn't reply to this post unless
i saw the name Fichewl in my Inbox... Good time...

Even though
i detest Microsoft... i have to give it to them on the
360....

Anyone out there got a MacBook they're selling? lol...

Hi,

I am playing Timesplitters 2 at the moment. I am itching to play NFS: Most
Wanted again (just love being chased by 10+ cop cars and a chopper) and Rogue
Leader: Rebel Strike.
Once fulfilled (oo-er), I plan to finish off Killer 7 and then play some of my
"new" games, such as Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.

The speed of sound? That would explain the name...

And Mario's a short, fat plumber that's used to running around saving the
princess, and can jump about 20 feet in a single bound. I'm thinking
Mustachio is more than meets the eye. Besides, Sonic's been kinda slacking
off lately, mostly letting Shadow do all the work for him while him and
Tails knock back suds and watch The Three Stooges reruns. And there's
another point, how come a two-tailed fox and an echidna could keep up with
him?

Nobody else finds it a little curious how Sonic became as slow as a short,
fat plumber? If I recall, he runs at the speed of sound. At least, he used
to.

Nintendo Wii outsells Sony PS3 5-fold in Japan By Kiyoshi Takenaka
Wed Jun 6, 6:26 AM ET

TOKYO (Reuters) - Sony Corp (NYSE:SNE - news). took another blow with
Nintendo Co.'s Wii game console outselling its PlayStation 3 by more
than five to one in Japan last month, raising doubts over Sony's
nascent earnings recovery.

Sony's game division posted an operating loss of 232 billion yen
($1.91 billion) in the year ended March 31 due to hefty start-up
costs of the PS3, dragging down Sony's overall profitability.

There are investor concerns that a turnaround in its electronics
division, led by robust sales of Bravia-brand flat TVs, could be
offset by continued losses at the game unit.

In the latest step in its electronics operations, Sony said on
Wednesday it would spend 60 billion yen over the next three years to
boost its capacity to make image sensor chips, which are used in
cellphones and digital cameras -- Sony's cash cow.

Sony sold 45,321 units of the PS3 in May, compared with 251,794 units
of the Wii. In April, the ratio was four to one in favor of the Wii,
according to Japanese game magazine publisher Enterbrain.

Nintendo, known for such game characters as Mario, Donkey Kong and
Pokemon, launched the Wii in November. The device features a motion-
sensitive controller that allows users to direct on-screen play by
swinging it like a tennis racket or wielding it like a sword, opening
a new avenue of game playing.

Rival Sony also started selling the PS3 late last year, but has seen
slow demand so far due to its high price tag and limited availability
of attractive software titles.

"If there were half a dozen good titles people wanted to play on the
PS3, I'm sure it would actually be doing quite well," KBC Securities
analyst Hiroshi Kamide said.

Sony ruled the $30 billion global game industry over the past decade
with the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2.

"We are only less than a year into the new (console) cycle. It is
wrong to say Nintendo has won and Sony has lost ... It's not game
over, but it's not very encouraging."

Sony aims to ship 11 million units of the PS3 in the current business
year to March 2008, up from 5.5 million a year earlier.

Hitting that target seems "rather difficult," Kamide said.

In the United States, the Wii was the top-selling new console for the
fourth month in a row in April, with Nintendo selling 360,000 units,
while Sony sold 82,000 units of the PS3 and Microsoft Corp. sold
174,000 Xbox 360 machines.

Analysts say Sony may also face an uphill battle in its planned
expansion in its sensor chip operations.

With the planned 60 billion yen investment, Sony will boost its
output capacity of CMOS censor chips, which are more power efficient
than CCDs -- the other type of major sensor chips.

Since Sony is relatively new to the CMOS market, it will likely need
to offer its products at aggressive prices to compete with
established makers such as Micron Technology Inc. and Toshiba Corp.,
hurting its profitability, said Yoshihisa Toyosaki, president of
research firm j-STAR Global Inc.

Nintendo shares closed up 0.5 percent at 42,800 yen, while Sony was
up 0.4 percent at 6,870 yen.

Nintendo's stock nearly quadrupled over the past two years, initially
driven by strong demand for its DS handheld players and then by
popularity of the Wii, far outperforming Sony shares, which gained 75
percent.

Ok, that was pretty good. The other episodes strayed more and more away
from the genre (IMO), but the first episode was definitely worth watching.
Second episode got a few laughs, too.

Hi,

A very funny video on YouTube...

http://www.youtube. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPutYwiiE0o>
com/watch?v=gPutYwiiE0o

It's essentially a live-action turn-based RPG. I was laughing through the
first 5 minutes non-stop.
Don't believe me? It's had over 1.9 million views in *less* than 6 months.
Watch it... go on!

That seems like some crazy dream I would have after playing a game for 13
hours straight. Awesome.

I'm actually planning on buying a Wii next week, with Zelda: TP and RE4 to
go with it. I still have trepidations about calling it the Wii, though.
Can I go back to Revolution? I mean... can I?

Please?

My dad's started making Wii jokes. And that, I tell you, is just really
wrong. Not 'cause he's my dad, per se, but 'cause he's a dirty old man.
And... it just ain't right...

Hi folks,

I just discovered the Japanese advert for Resident Evil 4, for the Wii. I
haven't laughed so hard (for a game commercial) since I last saw the
Japanese Sonic 3 (Megadrive) advert.

Don't try to butter us up by using fancy words we don't understand. It
won't work.

Well... maybe a little... but no more than that! =\

Why would you do that. And why would you admit to buying pirated
   games in an open forum?

March US game-industry sales up 33 percent
Industrywide growth continues as games, systems, and accessories total tops $1
billion; software rises 15 percent year-on-year as God of War II sells more than
800,000.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot
Posted Apr 19, 2007 4:56 pm PT
The industry-tracking NPD Group released its sales figures for the US March
retail period today, and despite at least one analyst's expectations, the streak
of significant sales growth has continued for another month.

For the period of March 4 to April 7, game software sales jumped 15 percent over
the March 2006 time frame to land at $574 million. Hardware sales were up 69
percent to $370 million, with the overall industry figures (hardware, software,
and accessories) totaling $1.1 billion, a 33 percent increase over the previous
March.

Like the industry itself, the Nintendo DS continued its strong performance,
topping all hardware with 508,000 systems sold for the month. The PlayStation 2
was next in line with 280,000, followed by the Wii (259,000), the Xbox 360
(199,000), the PlayStation Portable (180,000), the Game Boy Advance (148,000),
and the PlayStation 3 (130,000).

Software sales were driven by a handful of new releases, with God of War II for
the PS2 sitting atop the charts, boasting sales of 833,000. That's double the
second-place finisher, the Xbox 360 edition of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
2, which pulled in sales of 394,000. The Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II saw
release in the waning days of the reporting period but still managed to net
sales of 291,000 for the $89.99 guitar-equipped bundle in half a week of
release.

Wii Play (packed in with a Wii Remote) continued to be the best-selling title on
Nintendo's new platform, moving 273,000 copies during the March period.
Meanwhile, the PS3-exclusive MotorStorm was that system's best seller, rounding
out the top five and narrowly missing the 200K mark with 199,000 copies sold.

Shortly after the NPD reported its numbers, Sony and Nintendo sent out
statements to present the figures in a favorable light. In its missive, Sony
noted that the PS2 had outsold all console hardware for the month and that the
PS3 was the only next-gen console to see an increase over its February sales.
Sony said that was despite PS3 supply problems in the US in March, as production
had been shifted to focus on the system's European launch. The PS3 also launched
in Australia in March.

For Nintendo's part, the Wii and DS maker said it "once again claimed the top
two spots among the best-selling new video game systems in America," despite
what it called "widespread shortages" for both systems. Nintendo's statement
also boasted that the Wii is "the fastest-selling new console in more than a
decade" over its first five months of US availability and that it had sold more
systems so far this year than "all other manufacturers combined."

A Microsoft representative had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment
as of press time.
