Purchased new game cube system for my son for Christmas.
Everything has worked great up until we purchased Tony Hawks Pro
Skater 3. When this game is inserted we simply get the Cube Icon
and the screen then goes blank. Took the disk back and got another
one, same thing. Tried it on a neighbors and game will boot but can't
select anything, acts like joystick is stuck in up or down position.
All other games work fine, like:
Call of Duty
Incrediables
Mario Kart
Sarge's War

That's crap that the Gamecube is a kiddy console. If a game has

I rented the game and thought it was pretty cool how you could smash
everything and destroy all those tanks. There were also many extra
villains straight out of the comic books. I also liked the special
move when the Hulk slaps his hands together and sends a current of
air to smash the enemies. I really did not like the cel shading but
the story was pretty good.

Here are some things that you won't see on the PS2 or X-box. Some
reasons be happy that you own a Nintendo GameCube.

1. GAMEBOY ADVANCE TO GAMECUBE CONNECTIVITY -- The Nintendo Gameboy
Advance can be used as a controller or additional screen in some
Nintendo GameCube games. This feature helps you unlock hidden games,
quests and secret areas that might not be accessible without the
Gameboy Advance. So far the Gameboy Advance has been used to unlock
different areas usch as "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets"
and "Animal Crossing". You also got to participate on some hidden
quests, games and a really interesting 2-player mode in "The Legend
of Zelda: The Wind Waker". Thre are lots of other games that will
feature the Gameboy Advance as an additional screen or controller
coming out. "Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles", "The Legend of
Zelda: The Four Swords" and "Pac-man" will be the first games to
fully utilize the Gameboy Advance as a GameCube controller. All of
those games are four player capable and each player will use the
Gameboy Advance screen to display their game status. EA Sports is
also working with Nintendo to bring the GBA-GC connectivity to
the "Madden" series as well to other sports games.

2. GAMECUBE TO ARCADE CONNECTIVITY -- "F-Zero GX" ( A futuristic
racing game ) will be the first console game able to transfer saved
data to the Arcade version of it. Apparently, you will be able to
transfer parts, cars and race tracks between the Arcade version and
the console version by using the GameCube's Memory Card. This is
really cool since it is probably the only way you can race your
friends because "F-Zero GX" does not look like it will support online
gaming but the Arcade version will link up the machines allowing
multi-player gaming. Let's hope there are more of these types of
games coming out.

3. EXCLUSIVE AND INNOVATIVE GAME TITLES -- One of the reason most
people own a Nintendo GameCube is that it has really great games that
won't be found on other consoles. Zelda, Mario, F-Zero, The Resident
Evil series, Project Number 03, Viewtiful Joe, Geist, Mario Kart,
Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Wario World, StarFox, Final Fantasy
Chronicles, Eternal Darkness, Killer 7, Lost Kingodms, Pokemon and
many other titles can only be played on the Nintendo GameCube.
Nintendo consoles have a history of bringing great exclusive
videogames that set the standard for the Gameing industry.

4. GAMEBOY PLAYER -- For an additional $40 or by buying the special
Nintendo bundle (GameCube that comes with Gameboy Player for the
normal retail price) you can play almost all the GameBoy games on
your Nintendo GameCube. This is a nice feature since those who
bought a Gameboy Advance instead of a Gameboy Advance SP found out
that the Gameboy Advance had a really dark screen. Now you can play
Gameboy Advance games and fully enjoy the graphics which look like
Super Nintendo graphics. Most best-selling Nintendo and Super
Nintendo games got upgraded for the GBA so you can now enjoy the
classics with new technologoy as well as play new Gameboy games.
There are over 1000 Gameboy Games available.

5. SURPRISES -- Nintendo has always had some hidden surprises in
store for gamers and let's just hope that they really have some
secret projects that will make you go "WOW! can a videogame really do
this?"

Here are some silly things that I would like to see happening on the
Nintendo GameCube.

1. GAMES WITH VOICES -- After playing "The Legend of Zelda: The
Wind Waker" and "Metroid Prime" I realized that this games did not
have that much spoken words other than sound effects
and "AHH!", "OHH!" and silly things like that. Both games were
awesome and really pushed the limits of videogaming in terms of
gameplay, music and controls. "Star Fox Adventures" had real voices
and it really made the game more fun to play as well as watch. It
also seems "Sonic the Hedgehog" learned how to talk when he moved to
the GameCube(In both japanese and english)while "Mario" was left
behind with "AHH!", "OHHH!", "MAMA MIA!". I really understand why
the Nintendo 64 had no spoken dialogue but this is GameCube!

2. BRING BACK THE LIGHT GUN -- Well I really enjoy going to the
arcades and shooting stuff on the screen. I would like to see "DUCK
HUNT" for the GameCube. I would also like to see a type of baseball
game that uses the light gun to hit the baseball, A fighting game in
which you shoot at action buttons that appear on the screen randomly
in a fashion similar to DDR, A dancing game in which you shoot at a
persons feet in order to make them dance, A boxing game in which you
shoot at the opponents body and to block you either shoot at an
action button that appears on a random place on the screen and
finally a game that lets you do trick shots. I really enjoy the
GameCube/Gameboy connectivity but a light gun is also pretty cool. X-
box has one and so does Playstation. (Some people might consider
this really lame/weird ideas and I'm probably the only one who wants
to see a light gun for GameCube)

3. CHEAPER GAMES -- I think the mini-DVD GameCube discs are
cheaper to manufacture than the DVD discs so I feel I pay too much
for games. Also buying the cheaper GameCube sucks because it does
not play DVD's (The special GameCube that plays DVD's costs twice as
much as an X-box or PS2 by the way). That was just great buy a cheap
gaming console with games that are just as expensive as the
competition and in some cases offer less stuff. Changing Discs in
games that require 2 of them really sucks!

4. ONLINE GAMING -- As of now "Phantasy Star Online" is the only
online game and a great reason to buy a modem. Nintendo plans to
launch some online games soon but when would they come? The LAN
connection that will allow you to connect GameCubes together for
games like "SUPER MARIO KART" is the closest thing to it.

5. MORE ADULT GAMES -- "Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem" was a
great game but it is the only one from Nintendo so far. "Resident
Evil Series" and "Hitman 2: Silent assasin look really good too. I
just want to see adults games that are not rated "M" just because of
Violence or nudity. I want adult themed stories. ( well I don't
really know what on Earth I'm writing about anymore )

6. DDR (Dance Dance Revolution)-- Hey there is no dance pad for the
GameCube! Well I really don't know why. DDR is such a success in
the arcades and the PS2 has one and the X-box is getting a DDR game
in September 2003. Playing DDR is also a great reason to buy a
Nintendo GameCube. Well good thing I also have an X-box.

Well the Nintendo GameCube is considered console made for children
but adults can have fun using it too. Well here are some titles
which were specially made for an adult audience.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
= RESIDENT EVIL SERIES:

The most popular horror videogame series on the Nintendo GameCube.
Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil feature enhanced graphics and were
made for GameCube only. Both of these games are scary as hell and
the best of the series available on the Nintendo GameCube. Resident
Evil 2 and 3 are only ports of older games. Resident Evil 4 will be
released soon.
This series contain blood thisrty creatures that come out of
nowhere. They have a great story and if are highly recommended
specially if you liked the movie "Resident Evil"

---------------------------------------------------------------------

= ETERNAL DARKNESS: SANITY'S REQUIEM

One of the best third person games for the Nintendo GameCube.
Alexandra Roivas explores the history of her ancestors and their
roles in the fight against evil. Featuring an involving story of
good VS evil spanning for over different time periods, lots of
playable characters and a unique fighting system(you can target an
enemies arms, head, or legs and if you slash their heads off then
they won't know where you are). This is a game that could drive you
insane because it played with your mind. There are lots of weapons,
characters, magic spells, puzzles and great cutscenes. Highly
recommended to anyone.

CUBED REVIEW >>> http://www.gamecubedusa.com/cubedreviews.htm

--------------------------------------------------------------------

= BMX XXX

BMX XXX is a game that raised a lot of controversy. It was mainly
because it featured topless female characters, videos of strippers,
foul language and adult jokes. It was a extreme bicycle sports game
similar to Aggressive inline or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater but with
bicycles. IT was an average game compared to its competitors. It
did have great humor though.

IGN REVIEW >>> http://cube.ign.com/articles/379/379149p1.html

---------------------------------------------------------------------

= DEAD TO RIGHTS

This game was a third-person action game. Jack Slate, a police
officer, was framed for the murder of his father's killer. There
were lots of weapons and fighting moves. The whole game was like a
Hong-Kong action movie. I really enjoyed playing this game because
it was only you VS 4-6 people at one time. The story was really cool
and so were the movies featuring top-notch action. You also got to
play as a stripper by pushing the right combination of buttons to
make her dance in sync with the music. Overall this game was really
good for an action game.

IGN REVIEW >>> http://cube.ign.com/articles/377/377791p1.html

---------------------------------------------------------------------
= RED FACTION 2

This is a really great first-person shooter and I really don't
have a clue what this game is about. All I know is that it had
destructible environements, lots of weapons, great animations and
even the ability to use vehicles. It also features the popular Multi-
player deathmatches with lots of options such as capture the flag, 4
players, bots and others.

IGN REVIEW >>> http://cube.ign.com/articles/391/391941p1.html

---------------------------------------------------------------------

= HITMAN 2: SILENT ASSASIN

This game has not been released on the Nintendo GameCube yet. But
the X-box and Playstation 2 versions were incredibly good. This game
put you into the role of an assasin and you had to use stealth,
precision, disguises and many assasination weapons. This game will
be released on June 16, 2003.

If you ever wanted to enter the Matrix and beat the crap out of
countless police officers, SWAT teams and Matrix agents in slow-
motion just like in the movie. All I can say is that this game
really does capture the feeling of the movie. Could it be because
the people involved with the making of the game also worked on making
the movie. You get to play as Niobe and Ghost who play a minor part
in the "Matrix Reloaded".

The game itself is fast paced and fun to play. There are lots of
Matrix moves to perform and the now famous "Slow motion" fights.
There are lots of weapons and special kung-fu moves to use. The only
bad thing is that the game has lots of glitches. Enter the Matrix
offers a great storyline which may clear up many things about
the "Matrix: Reloaded" movie. Some things actually make the story
much more interesting and some open up more questions as to what is
going to happen in "Matrix Revolution".

To sum it up "Enter the Matrix" is just an average third person
action game. It is easy to play and incredibly fun if you are a
Matrix fun. Specially running on the walls in slow motion while
shooting at enemies and jumping to a wall and then pushing yourself
off it to deliver a flying kick to the face. Really innovative for a
videogame but it just doesn't do the movie justice. The vehicle
driving/shooting scenes really suck! because they are too
simple.

What I hated about the game was the glitches. Sometimes you shoot
enemies and they manage to punch you or shoot you back before they
fall. Maybe it is because I was using the slow motion but I really
hated it. Also sometimes when you arrived at a certain point the
game just takes over regardless of what you are doing and it flows
horribly from game to movie.

But there are lots of extras that can be unlocked by "Hacking"
into the Matrix using an onscreen keyboard and unlock the secrets.
You can also alter some of the environment inside the Matrix and
modify how you play the game.

There are some things you might need in order to enjoy the whole
Matrix saga. It is divided into three movies, one videogame and nine
short films. The videogame stars right where "The Last Flight of the
Osiris" short film left off. In order to fully enjoy the videogame
then I recommend you to watch the movie "The Matrix", The nine short
films "The Animatrix" (Coming out sometime soon), watch "The Matrix:
Reloaded" now on theaters (available on DVD in November, 2003) and
watch the conclusion the Matrix saga to be released in November of
2003 "Matrix Revolution". What really sucks is that the GameCube does
not play DVD's (It would be cool if they actually released movies in
the GameCube's min-DVD format).

Indeed, Enter the Matrix is a revolutionary title in that changes
the movie-videogame that has not been pleasant over the years. Lots
of crappy games based on movies have been released over the years.
It enhances the experience of going to watch a movie and then playing
its videogame. The videogame has some interesting ideas and it could
have been better had all the glitches fixed. It got moderate Reviews
from Gamespot and IGN. I really do hope to see more videogames like
this over the next few years.

P.S. I really enjoyed the Persophone/Niobe scene which really gave
me more insight into what kind of character Persephone was. There
are lots of more character development such as the
Merivingian/Persephone relation. Who is Ghost? and what happens to
Niobe and Ghost at the end of the Matrix Reloaded movie.

Hello I'm the new moderator for the group. It is great to see
that this club has 14 members even though it was founded over a year
ago. Well I will continue with the free entertainment part because I
know the economy is bad and it is really hard to cough up money to
buy GameCube games.

Acclaim has finally shipped "Burnout 2: Point of Impact". This is
a really great racing game. The thing that sets Burnout 2 apart from
other racing games is that you earn points by driving recklessly and
not crashing. You get points for going against traffic and having
near misses. Burnout 2 has the coolest crashes on any driving
videogame ever. There are lots of cars to choose from and to unlock
and thirty locations to drive in ncluding Miami, New Mexico and Los
Angeles. Burnout 2 is a really good sequel to a really good game.
Burnout was one of my favorite racing games on the Nintendo
GameCube and it was sad to see the sequel as a Playstation 2 only
exclusive. If you are into racing games then get this game ASAP.
And if you are angry and filled with road rage from driving in
traffic trying to make it to your destination in time then this game
will help you relieve all your stress.
