Well that makes sense because shutting down
and rebooting is the only way to clear the
memory cache (although you can clear the history
cache this doesn't free up much memory).

> finally just froze up. I can't help you with the lag.

I suggest seeing if you have another dial-up
number in your area and trying that.

I have the problem of my DC slowing down (loading) after surfing
the net for 3+ hours straight and someone told me it
was the cache filling up and to turn off the DC to
clear the cache. My DC would slow down so much that
finally just froze up. I can't help you with the lag.
Good Luck.

trust me - its not lag thats causing the problem!
even if the login page was the very first page I see,
the page still wont load up.

bookmarking the dreamkey login page is already what
I do! the point was, the problem exists at other
websites. I already have a remedy for the yahoo
login case, now, I need a "general" solution.

   thanks anyway!

Why not just bookmark the DreamKey log-in page
and use that? Or bookmark the Yahoo page and when
you connect make sure it's the first site you visit.

I still think it may be a slow/laggy connection.

luckily I also own a planetweb 2.6 which works
perfect. but the only problem is, it seems to go
REALLY slow after a certain amount of time. plus
theres no copy and paste option.

A bad connection dosent seem like the problem,
because planetweb loads the login page correctly.

but guess what? i actually CAN login with
dreampassport. Its weird. first i have to visit the dc
browsers group. then I click on "dreamkey login" then
i type in anything for the password and usernamw
fields. then click login.
and there you have it! the yahoo login screen loads up
perfectly! strange isint it?

I think I may have complicated the situation to you
though.
thanks any way :)

IS THERE ANY ONE ELSE WHO CAN HELP?

wow, i have no idea here...
i would recommend you try a different browser and se
e if it has the same problems... maybe even both a
planetweb and a dreamkey...

and, dns is the domain name server, but, that appare
ntly is not your problem... with some isp's, all ze
ros is not your best option, such as on earthlink, b
oth miss mary and i have an occasional connection fa
ilure with it, we click on a link and get a 'bad url
' pop-up, but, click again and it works just fine, b
ut, that is nothing like what you describe, so, i re
ally don't think dns is your problem...

best i can see that you can do is try the other brow

.
in fact, it sounds a little bit like bad connection,
but, i don't know why it would only affect some pag

well when I click on the mail icon (at yahoo) what
happens is, my browser connects and it tries to load
up the login page. at the bottom of my screen it says:

   "connection....OK"

and thats it. that message stays the same. Ive tried
waiting for ages, and still nothing. then I press
"cancel" and I check up on the source code (to see how
much is loaded up so far) and hardely any code is
there! (only about half a page worth of code is
visible)

this never used to happen. everything was OK before.

what is "DNS"? i checked that option and it only had
zero's in there.

I hope this is enough info for you. thanks.

Connection speed.....memory cache....could be a lot of
issues. One thing I have found is I NEVER connect at the
same speed. Sometimes its 28kbs, I'll disconnect, reconnect
and it's 44kbs. Makes a huge difference in page loading.

Basically leaving the DNS numbers blank forces the setting
to the correct DNS for your isp so I reccomend leaving them
as is. I've had tons of isp's in the past and have yet to
enter a DNS number.

well, the first issue here is where are you finding these files?
i am not aware of anywhere that our files are available...

if you mean files that you are finding over at the files group
(groups.yahoo.com/group/DCBG-Files), you cannot download them there, you must
get them via email when they are posted... if there are files you want, you
have to join and request re-posts...

aside from the files group, i really don't think there is any place on the web
to download our files, unfortunately...

Just click on the file it downloads to your vmu. Then to
run it go to the Passport file mgr and load it.

Bookmarklet scripts save as a bookmark. To run those go to
bookmarks, edit, c/c/p into your url and run when needed.

This may sound like a stupid question, but how do I
download the Dual Surfer files to my VMU? For that
matter, how do I download any files to my VMU? ex:
these *.Sds, *.P01, *.V01, etc. files...
I would greatly appreciate the help.

Thanks so much,
Kevin

yeah i used juno awhile back. you need a pc to decode the password
as has been mentioned. it works for awhile (up till they detect
your not using there portal and reading there ads). it should still
work but you will need to get there software install it on a pc and
then get a decoder and log on on the pc and decode the password
thats used and then input the info into your Dc. you may wanna
check out dcfun i think it is. if there still around. the url i
THINK is http://dcfun.com but im not at all sure if that is it.

Well I belive curtis has this one figured out I'm sure

IM'ing him at DS. It is possible but now it's not free

i know this gets discussed alot over at the gamefaqs
.com dc board, so, you might try there...
you might also ask the people over at dcog... i bel
ieve the url is...
http://dcog.netfirms.com
they are quickly becoming the definitive place for a
ll things relating to dc online gaming... i know th

we would have made it our business to keep up with d

dominated by just kids who are sneaking behind thei
r parents' back and/or "free isp's" that are not fre
e, just hacked, and several other aspects that make
it all a questionable pursuit in general, so, it is
an area the dcbg has almost no info about...

oh, also, now that i think about it, i know that dro

I don't think netzero is compatible any more......
and even if you could get it to work (which DOES
require a pc to set up an account, not to mention
trying to decode the password, etc.) netzero has a
10 hour monthly limit....
hardly worth all the effort and if i'm not misstaken
they can detect if the netzero "portal" is not
loading and quickly delete your account.

I tried several years ago when it was "unlimited"
free internet and had little success.....
I honestly don't think any free isp's exist now....

Ahh....hmm
I think you can still use Netzero
Long time ago there was a trick...
You had to "decode" the NZ. password
though, to get on-line with a DC...
There was a table/chart for decoding
the password...dont know if this still
works though or where to find that chart
