i promised to keep everyone updated, but then the pw

kind of like this whole seganet thing, i guess every
one on the list took everyone else's word for it tha

though, today, i did receive a post from the list...
so, that says to me it is still going...
however, all the questions that i had have still nt
been asked there, so, maybe i should make apost of m

pretty sure i know the answer to, but, i wanted to

yes, pete did, and posted the link when he got it al

work... and i think there was a couple other minor

hmmm, this is getting spooky...
this is also something i found not too long ago...

ok, by something i will settle for calling popular d
emand, all the surfer scripts are now posted publica
lly in NON-WORKING form...
you will have to copy the scripts to your own server
and fill in the necessary urls to make them work...
this includes the "dp surfer", the "dk surfer", the
"dual surfer", the barely begun pw surfer, the gener
ic search bar, and a very brief readme.txt, which ex
plains what i am explaining now...

(to be clear, they WERE originally published publial
ly, anyway, so, that much has not changed...)
think of this as an opportunity to make them everyth

if (big if) anyone is still using the old vmu-based
versions of the surfers previously published at this
group and it's former incarnations, the Console Bro
wsers Group and the Video Game Systems Online group,
and released via Dreamserv, let me know and i will
consider putting the scripts back on line that are n
ecessary for the old files to function...

well, tough times since dreamserv lost all dcbg's wo

you were not "demonstrating it", you were calling it
the "dreamkey surfer" and linking to the demos in m
y webspace...
i did not make it to be web-based... whether you ca
me across the errors or not, they are a reality...
we did not make them vmu-based to amuse ourselves or
show off our scripting prowess... we had very good
reasons...
and when people link to my web-demos, with my name o
n them, that is taking something that i designed to
be error-free and making public a flawed version of
it, with my name still on them, in the url... the d
emos were meant to be just demos... and it was alwa
ys clearly stated that they were for demo purposes o
nly...
yet people continue to link to the demos...
you just happened to be the lucky guy to make me dec
ide i had had enough...
if you want to run a web-based version, be my guest.
.. on your host... without my name in the url or a
nywhere at all...
> My dreamkey.h00 is not working
> now!
i have no idea what a .H file has to do with anythin
g, since the file i released was named "DKSurfer.i_p
" or something close to that, but, as i recall, i al
so released the bars at the same time, as downloadab
le files... not sure, i would have to see the origi
nal scripts, which i no longer have...
i will see what i can do about releasing the scrpts,
but, considering everyone had plenty of time to cop
y them, (they were released something like a year an
d a half ago, at least) i never thought i would have
to release them, so, don't hold your breath...
for that matter, as many people that have copied the
m to make their own web-based versions, there should
be plenty of places to get the scripts or just link
to their web-based version...
bottom line is many of us used web-based surfers for
a very long time and got tired of the problems inhe
rent in them... so, we figured out a way around the
probems, and that was to make them vmu-based...
i cannot help but wonder why people think we went to
all that trouble for no reason, if they worked just
as well web-based...
and i do not like the idea of people using something
with my name associated with it (or the group's nam
e) that is NOT what we intended...
and i like it less every time i see someone linking
to our demos and calling it the real thing...

The NTV-2500 from Neon Technology pretty much delivers entertainment
to your living room. Adding this device to your entertainment center
will suddenly give you Internet and email access, picture phone
capabilities, a karaoke machine, a DVD/CD player, and a digital
camera.
If you are looking for a DVD player, the NTV-2500 accommodates DVDs,
VCD, Audio CDs, and MP3s on CDs, and you can hook it up to your
stereo system for surround sound. If you would like to use it to
channel surf, one feature of this TV tuner function will allow you to
see the action of six different channels on one screen.
Connecting through the internal 56k modem or 10/100BaseT Ethernet
port will give you Internet access right on your television screen.
And if you are absorbed in a TV program, but just have to go online,
you can even set the view to picture in picture, so you don't miss a
thing. If e-commerce is appealing to you, the NTV-2500 also supports
SSL 3.0 for security. Emailing is also an option with this device,
allowing you to send voice or picture attachments with the Neon Cam.
The Neon Cam is a device also included with the NTV-2500. With it,
you can turn your TV into an Internet picture phone. By setting up
calls through your TV, you can establish a connection to send
pictures of yourself to other users via the Internet.
If karaoke is your passion, the NTV-2500 also includes a microphone
input for sing-along karaoke, though a separate karaoke disc is
necessary. Also included are a wireless keyboard and remote control.
With all of these different options, a fairly powerful processor must
be running in the background, right? Well, what you will find is an
Intel Mobile Pentium 266 MHz MMX processor. It also runs the QNX 32-
bit posix RTOS.

ah, and it just occured to me that jeffma added a wh

i am pretty sure he even labelled them as offering
the pc or dc format...
either way, it is a simple matter of just finding th

. you click on the link and d/l the file, same as a
ny other kind of file...
on a dc browser, you will just save them to a memory

on a pc, you will need a special kind of memory card
and software...
and via email is pretty much the same... you reciev

all that stuff works perfectly for me and anyone else
so get your facts straight i think you are the one who

moron and tend to your own business all the other
dreamcasters that have been using it have been
inpressed. The cookie manager resets my cookies on my

perfectly for me and seeing how you are being like

first of all, i made it perfectly clear that the

work... (and even clearer that it did not work
at all for dreamkey users...) did you even TEST
it??? ah, well, you clearly do not test things
you put on your site that you claim to be "useful

so, tell me, what is it you think it does???<BR>

secondly, i will never understand why people continue

Mamak should be able to tell you the url to get one. You will need a credit
card as its not free. and its a monthly fee. and as for the dial up numbers
there your standard isp numbers. Its the same setup we would use for chab just
with pso you also need a hunters license. from all the trouble your having it
sounds like you would be better off just getting a domestic version. it almost
sounds like your attempting to use a burned copy and if thats the case you will
need to find a serial number and an access key, which you will not find.

first of all, i made it perfectly clear that the "yahoo id creation page" did
not work... (and even clearer that it did not work at all for dreamkey
users...) did you even TEST it??? ah, well, you clearly do not test things you
put on your site that you claim to be "useful for dreamkey users", judging by
the WEBTV cookie manager you have on your site for dreamcast users...
so, tell me, what is it you think it does???
i further made it clear that i was not leaving that page on the webspace...
you obviously ignored both statements...
so, i changed the url...
enjoy the dead link, #1...
secondly, i will never understand why people continue to link to the webdemos of
things like the dp/dk surfers...
they were made to be VMU-BASED ONLY...
perhaps you missed that word WEBDEMOS in the url...
a DEMO, by definition, is not the final product itself...
i have repeated time and time again that web-based surfers ARE FLAWED...
malformed post errors, status bar in the way, etc.... if you want one, go find
someone else's that does not care if they publish buggy junk... there are TONS
of them out there...
so, again, i changed the url...
enjoy the dead link, #2...
i have no problem with people posting about their site when it is something good
and/or useful...
which is why i have a problem with your post...

oh, now come on...
this info is certainly at mamak... they would not b
e much of an import pso site if they did not tell ho
w to get a hunter's license...
and dialing numbers were the
> chabsign account! e.g. 0099-333-888 that is the nu
mbers to input ??
are you saying you put the chab account number where
the phone number goes???
obviously, you have to put a phone number where the
phone number goes...
with all this trouble you seem to be having, why not
just pick up a domestic copy of pso...
