man, it has the sega bookmarks, the access, but, it also has several oth
ers...
i didn't write them down, but, stuff like arsenal.co.uk (as in Arsenal?
they have sports bookmarks in dk?) excite.com, sparkle.com or somethin
g like that, and some odd lettered combinations i can't identify... lik
e ibt.com or something close and a couple more...

oh, and this is zane, i am on mary's machine...

how interesting...
a dreamkey with menus that have add bookmark... groovy...

as expected, i see no real differences...

there is no dk1.5 is our visitor logs, so, i should be the first...

btw, it said it was connecting through dreamarena, even though it is usi
ng my isp...
so, for those that doubted uk'ers can use their own isp if they just go
t the isp info into their machine, here is the proof, i guess...

now i am curious if i can actually get into dreamarena... too bad i do
n't have an id... someone wanna' make me an id to play with?
i always wanted to try d.a. chat... it has some cool stuff... i have s
een plenty of screen shots...

btw, i could never get utopia to boot this up right... it would boot th
e chu chu rocket game, but, when i went to the browser, it would scroll
really badly, whether i put it on 50 or 60... so, i guess i am not sure
if it is because i booted with codebreaker or because i am on a vga...

anyway, one more dc browser i have actually used...

well, i am not necessarily married to geocities, but
, had not had the motivation to move all group stuff
off that host to just another free host where i wou
ld eventually have to move it again... it is all on
geocities by pure coincidence... it is just where
i started it all and had not moved it...
though, i intentionally go with pop-ups instead of b
anners because then dc'ers don't get advertising at
all... and i usually assume the most traffic will b
e dc'ers...

hmmmm...
i will have to think on this...

but, my main concern is that something non-essential
is getting all this traffic and then when i post so
mething for people here to see/use, no one will be a
ble to because something else is using up all the tr
affic quota...

oh, and, one thing i DO like about geocities still i
s that the entire interface works perfectly with dc.
.. (and, btw, after using angelfire, geocitis, and
tripod, i still like the geocities interface best)
trying to do stuff on my earthlink webspace is an ex
cercise in patience because i have to use the interf

oh my...
that's awful...
makes me think of the cam for gameboy...

wow...

that isn't the only kind of pics it makes, i hope...

anyone happen to remember the audio cassette camcord
er thing that came out, oh, 10, maybe 15 years ago?
it was a toy of some sort, since i guess they figur
ed no adult would actually buy it... you put an aud
iotape in it and shot video... loved the idea, but,
man, i can't believe they even bothered releasing i
t because the images were absolutely horrible...
that is the kind of thing i was expectiing from drea
meye, but, from some examples i had seen, i had let
my hopes go back up...

now, i am not sure what to think...

but, i will definitely have to see some better examp
les before i buy it...
of course, eventually i would like to pick it up for
collecting purposes, but, if i knew there would be
quality to any extent, i would make it sooner than l
ater...

so, oldskoolsega, do you have yours fully functionin
g to post pics/vids from it?

i am trying to do what everyone wants on this one an
d it just is not working out... i have had people m
ention it onlist and practically beg me offlist...

but, what is it you want?

i am not assigning a once a day thing because everyo
ne is in different time zones on different schedules
...
twice a day would be pretty much the same...
so, that means 4, 6, 8 times a day...
like suggesting @000, @250, @500, @750
or @333, @666, @999
or even 12, 3, 6, 9, am and pm, gmt/utc

or that leaves a certain time a couple days a week o
r whatever and that feels like some kind of "group m
eeting" and i am not going to organize all that...
i figured whoever wanted group chat was going to mak
e it happen...

i am not even sure what a chat room is wanted for...
the use i can see for it is that perhaps non-membe
rs or people passing through would pop in and ask qu
estions or something...

and i would rather just have no "suggested times"...
but, that only works for pc... on pc, chat is a t
otally different affair... you can surf and irc at
the same time... dc just can't do this... so, i am
getting a WHOLE lot of "well, i went in when you sa
id to, but no one was there so i left"... well, of
course... a dc'er can only do one or the other...
so, perhaps 20 of you popped in for one moment and l
eft and all missed each other...
and then i get people emailing me getting mad that n
o one is there and one person getting mad at ME for
not showing up, saying it was my responsibility as "
webmaster" or "moderator" or "leader" or something (
some people never learn, or else can't read) to show
up or at least make sure i set up times where peopl
e WILL show up... look, everyone, NO ONE here has "
responsibilities"... people sling quite a bit of ab
use around here making demands and wanting to know W
HEN this or that is being taken care of... no one i
s paying us and no one has agreed to any deal to bre
ak...
and as far as me being in there, i rarely to nevr ch
at... i don't understand what so many guys are doin
g so much chatting for, but, that is your affair, i
am trying to do what you are asking for...
now, kefka took it upon himself to sort of "prop the
room open", making sure someone was always in there
... i have asked if anyone wants to set us up a cha
nnel with a bot and no one can or has... (for me, t
hat is the end, but, again, i am trying to do what o
thers want here...)

so, at this point, (which is where i have been all a
long actually) i just don't see where irc is all tha
t useful for a dc'er...

you know, this all started in june or so and chat wa
s something that came up very early... and was very
soon deemed hopeless and abandoned... since that f
irst time, i am guessing it has come up, in one way
or another, 5 or 6 times... every time, deemed a fa
ilure... we have had people offer to set us up a ch
annel, people disagree about where to meet, and time
s, different things that one browser can do that oth
ers can't... a whole mess... well, i figured maybe
if i tried it all and stuck with it, it could work
out, but, i am just not getting ideas and cooperatio
n from those who keep wanting it...

at this point, i think integrating ourselves with so
meone else's chatroom would be good, but, no one els
e does this stuff... i don't know of any group of p
eople who are even close... they are either too tec
hnical or too game-oriented...

so, this is it... last chace i am willing to do som
ething to make it happen...
so, it is time to submit any ideas...
i have already taken the suggestion of every 100 bea
ts down... and the url chat link was taken down a w
eek or two ago...
if anyone has ideas for how this should happen, now
is the time to mention them...

Dear GeoCities Member,

Your web site, http://www.geocities.com/insidious_pl
ots
seems to have been receiving a large amount of traff
ic.
Our records indicate that you're using more than the
  allotted amount
of data transfer we provide for a free web site, whi
ch is 3 gigabytes
per month (measured on an hourly basis). That means
that during the
past few days we had to temporarily turn your site o
ff to keep the
bandwidth within this limit.

What can I do?

Keep in mind that large files such as images and mul
timedia files
can effect your data transfer greatly. A single web
page that
contains 200,000 bytes of images will only be able t
o be viewed
about 20-25 times an hour. By keeping your file size
s and page
sizes as small as possible, you can maximize the amo
unt of page views
your site can produce.

You can also upgrade your site to one of our premium
  services,
GeoCities Pro or GeoCities Webmaster. These packages
  allow for 10 and
20 gigabytes of data transfer per month, and also gi
ve you the option of
purchasing unlimited data transfer so your site will
  always be accessible.
These packages also enable you to run an ad-free sit
e at your own
domain name (for example, www.insidious_plots.com) a
nd get matching email
accounts at that domain (like you@insidious_plots.co
m). Upgrading your
current site is simple -- you don't have to move any
  files and your
geocities.com/insidious_plots address will continue
to work.

For more information about our new packages, please
visit
	 http://geocities.yahoo.com/ps/info3

If you'd prefer not to receive this notice in the fu
ture, just go to
http://geocities.yahoo.com/opt/bwemail to take your
name off of the notify
list. Of course, our servers will continue to monit
or your site's data
usage and turn it off if it exceeds the limits.

Thank you for using Yahoo! GeoCities,

The GeoCities Team
http://geocities.yahoo.com/

ah, bookmarks collections...

one of my favorite searches is to put in "my bookmar
ks" maybe followed by a subject... pages and pages
and pages of people's personal bookmark collections.
..

i still find personal bookmarks collections to be on
e of the most interesting aspects of the web... as
penn jillette says, "you can explore someone else's

us in the usa get planetweb...
that is the way it works...

planetweb is the standard release browser in the usa
, passport is the standard release browser in japan,
dreamkey is the standard release browser in europe.
..
one region does not sell, let alone give away, their
  browser to another region...
if they did, this group would probably not be necess
ary..

but, it seems we in this group are getting dk3 one w
ay or another... now, to find out if it has dreamno
te, and, if so, what network it uses...

I'm currently scripting an alternate version of my uploader to be use around
a photo album for PSO.

First, you'll signup by giving my site a username and password for your
photo album, plus a title for it, then you'll be able to use the uploader to
upload images in the DREAMKEY.P** and PASSPORT.P** format. You'll enter a
description of the image, and any other information that you fell is
important. Only you will be able to add files (later on, the option to
delete and modify information will be available). Everyone, however, will be
able to see it!

That should not be hard at all! Depending on how the data is sent to the script, it could be programed in a matter of 30 minutes... maybe an hour.

Subject: [DCBG] Question for Doug

I was just playing this game called Drug Lord 2 for pc today, and got to thinking... I love this game lol. I don't know how to program, I do know how to script mIRC though, and am going to try to "port" it to mIRC, or actually making a clone of it, with different options etc. Now, this afaik will be hard because there are things I have to do, that I haven't done yet, but I see it entirely possible.

Anyways, to get to my point, I wanted to know how hard it would be to script a high-score board for this... not necesarily a board, but I'm sure it would consist of a database, a script to recieve the sent data, and a script to redirect the person to a page showing the top 50 scores, and where (if at all) they rank. So my question is... how hard would it be? and would you want to do it? I don't know how I could repay you... but uh, I'm good at burning stuff to cd-r's ;) anyways, let me know what you think, and if you want a link to this game (yes I'm addicted), let me know.

BTW: my high score is like 3,500,000,000 - and I've been playing for oh, 3 days now? :P
