btw, speaking of online games, we would KILL for an online casino game...
i am so ready to clean the floor with some people in poker...

and a good 4-player double hold em poker... man, i might never sleep again...

blackjack... spanish 21...

and, you know, online or not, they could have made great use from the vmu for a
great multi-player poker game...
casino games are always against the house...

i want YOUR money...

an online casino game would be very easy to pull off... it is sort of the
essence of all rpg's... reduced to it's bare minimum... it would be a gambling
online multi-player rpg sort of thing... you start a character (account) and
you can make money and level up in each game... they could have just built the
frickin' online feature into ceasar's palace or hoyle casino... i haven't
played hoyle, but, cp is already set up that way and it would have been
PERFECT... i have spent more time in a casino than i have spent playing games
on the dreamcast...
i'm ready to go online...
once you have played for money, playing for virtual money is easy... see, i
know i could play for money on a pc, but, if i want to play for money, i go to a
casino... i want a "no consequences casino" with players from around the
world... just for the fun of the games...

speaking of the vmu, i am again led to say, man, the vmu was under-used... i
don't know who owns virtua tennis here, but, man, the game is played on your vmu
screen!! you are kinda' busy playing, but, if you look at your vmu while you
are playing, there is the game you are playing in miniature... frickin' cool,
but frickin' useless...

i know your plays are on the vmu screen on nfl2kx, but every other use of it i
know of is useless or just added info... like seaman and sonic...
i love the idea of using your own private screen for private info... it just
makes sense... fur fighters fluff match (think cartoon version of quake), you
have your ammo and score or something, but you can also have that info on the tv
screen where it is much easier to see...

man, the things they can do with the gamecube using gba's as controllers...
imagine the intricacies a game that FULLY used the screen and the individual
gba's could have... it could be amazing... but, i will not be surprised with
they make minimal to no use of it like game developers did with the vmu...

anyway...

well, it seems to me the chinese chabbers have dream
call... most people seem to never use voice chab (w
hether u.s., jap, or wherever)... so, when they kee
p getting voice chabs from her, i think they are say
ing 'let's go get on dreamcall'...
i think they have people who can read jap...

BUT, it does sound logical to me that it would be a
regional thing... except for the fact that we can a
ll chab... but, then again, it seems the two servic
es are on two different networks... the chab networ
k is probably simpler even than an email network...
and i bet their dreamcall is MUCH better than ours..
. pay services are almost always a miracle compared
to their free counterparts... but, it still seems
like alot for this connection to handle... if we ca
n't connect over 30k-ish, (and i usually get 19 or 2
0) that would suck to try to do live voice chat and
surf at the same time...
maybe the japs are all on broadband or something...

Dreamcall on dp is a pay service, basically the way it works you
buy a pre-paid account which is renewable, and activate it.
However im unsure as to whether it can be used anywhere but
in Japan, as you are asked to enter your area code, etc. My
feeling is prob no, but again i:ll have to look into it further. BTW,
on dpp you set an option that makes it appear you have dreamcall,
and a green phone is visible by your name, beside your emoticon.
Also, ive had the same response, people in china think ive got dcall
but people in japan of course understand the voice chab.

these new chabbers use dreamcall... if i was willin
g to pay the money, is there anyone here that knows
how to set it up, who to send the money to, and all
that information?

if they have it, we can get it...

i would like to try this out and now that i have bee
n talking with a few of them for a couple days, they
keep bringing up dreamcall... i voice chab them an
d so they automatically assume that i have dreamcall
...

they seem to know alot of things that we don't and t
hey don't seem to know that we don't know them... a
s i said, they assumed that i have dreamcall... but
, so far as i know, noone here knows how to get drea
mcall for passport...

i want to know about all their services... i don't
mind paying for good services and i am wanting to kn
ow what is available to us... i go to isao and chec
k out there services but a machine translation isn't
good enough for me to send money... the specifics
are scrambled, and therefore i don't feel comfortabl
e enough to know what i am getting, how much it cost
s, how to get it, etc...

so, if i may suggest something to the group, anyone
who knows anything about this stuff (dpp, isao, read
ing japanese), i think a summary of isao's services,
costs, and how to go about getting them would be a
very valuable faq... even a brief run down would be
  very nice at this point...

within a month we are going to be having our second
dreamcast, isp, etc, up and running... we have ever
ything ready, we are just waiting on our new dpp and
need to go out and pick up a second tv at this poin
t (and i need to create my 2nd pso character ever)..
. so i want to know all this stuff...

thanks guys...
i would appreciate it...

miss mary

I know crediting someone can make them feel like they did something, while not
crediting them can make them feel like shit/want to kill you/etc. It's happened
to me many times, even with these yahoo groups, but I don't sweat it because it
helps the DC community either way. You guys should come together and embrace
each other again. I remember when curtis invited me to join the first group when
there was like 20 posts or something, he was all like, this plots dude has done
alot and everything was cool, what the hell happened to that? I know it's hard
to put the past behind you, but you two both know what happened and not me or
any member of this group or curtis' can change your mind, but don't you both
think it's kind of childish?

Okay, I think I'll go clear my head with alittle DC Wolfenstein 3d :P

tips, tricks, bad news, good news?

no one has filled in the blanks for the mouse option
s in the options map, so, maybe no one knows what th
ey do, but, i have some idea...

the first button seems to make it left or right hand
ed...

the second button seems to be mouse-sensitivity...

the third button seems to reverse several things...
it reverses the wheel, so, rolling up now goes down.
..
but, it also reverses the menus... if you right cli
ck on the left side of the screen, it brings up the
left menu, if you right click on the right side of t
he screen, the right menu opens... if yu hold the s
ide button and do it, it opens the menu on the other
  side of the screen...
so, if you switch this setting, all of that is rever
sed, too...

so far, let me say I LOVE IT...
one-handed web...
i have a one-handed controller for the playstation t
hat i love and i want something similar for the dc..

of course wireless would be great... we have wirele

and there does not seem to be wireless dc controlle

we have our psx controllers right here next to us, b

if someone does not offer you one very soon, tell me
, and i wil send you one... i say this because i kn
ow some people have more than i do... i am down to
my last 2 distributable copies, and people need them
from time to time... (grrrrrr.. i wish i had orde
red a BUNCH more) at least i would say, try to get
a second copy eventually and make one available when
someone else needs it to keep the favor going...

i know the pw2.6's are out there on the web, so, may
be one of our pc friends could burn off a few copies
to have on hand... i would be willing to fund the
project...

and, btw, i don't know what your situation is, (i kn
ow you have told me before, but, there is alot of pe
ople here, i get everyone's story confused) but, se
ga sells 2.62 for 6 bucks and they charge directly t

go ahead and send me your mailing address and if you
can't work anything out in the next day or two, i w
ill send you one...

well, it definitely has something to do with the cac
he... a good indicator would be a file... midi, wa
v, mpeg, whatever... you click on it, it has to loa
d... if you click again, it is already loaded and d
oesn't have to reload... but, if you dump the cache
, it does have to reload it...

but, there is some little things that make me wonder
what exactly it is doing... for the most part, it
seems to be a cache dump, and i use it all the time.
.. we are in several groups that exchange pics, mov
ies and other media files by email, so, i rely on it
... but, it does not seem 100% effective, which mak
es me think it is actually something else, and stron
gly resembles a tota cache dump...

the everyday thing i notice is that if it totally du
mps the cache, why can you still go back? and back
and back? you can do it as many times as you want..
. but, when your cache dumps on pw, you cannot go b
ack...

so, yes, this seems to be more of a history dump...
but, what is the difference? it should be the dc e
quivalent of "temporary internet files"... but, the
