Dear customers,

Given the high demand of Last Hope for Dreamcast, there's going to be a self-published reprint very soon. This reprint however is not just a plain reprint, its rather going to be an improved version of the game. With this edition the games on screen visibility is much higher then before on Dreamcast, comparable to Last Hopes in game visibility for NEO·GEO CD. That's mainly thanks to pink bullets that make it easier to differ between explosions and shrapnels while shooting up enemies. Also the color scheme of the stages are now altered to improve both visibility and giving the game a different look. Additionally, Last Hope Pink Bullets features instant restart spawn during one credit. However using a credit takes you to the latest checkpoint of the stage. You have a total of 6 credits. The player is now equipped with both permanent speedup and protection pod.
We are sure, this makes the game a less hard and more accessible gaming experience.

The game comes with DVD casing and enhanced 12 page manual. We are also considering a stand alone soundtrack of this game. Release of this game edition is July 2009.

Please do not discuss anything to do with CDI's anymore. Talk about the games, or things you did/do with the DC browsers.

Cool.

I am still about, but have only been checking the mail when the "these moderated emails are about to expire" message comes up - which used to be monthly, but I guess you (and others?) have become more active in the moderation department? :)
I will try to check them weekly from now on, but my main focus is currently on Amiga projects.

The group has been moderated for quite some time because of spam issues, but i went and unmoderated everyone who has posted in 2008 or 2009... So, i you made a post in the last year or so, i edited your membership so you can now post without it being delayed...
Unfortunately, i can only do that for members, so if you have never become a member, i couldn't change your membership rights :P

When i started this group (how many years has it been?) i made it so anyone could access everything and make posts and didn't have to join and i hope it stays that way.. But, if you intend to keep posting, you might want to join so i can set it so your posts bypass moderation.. .

On that note, I have no idea how many moderators there now are, but i for one only check only every great once in awhile, so, for instance the other day, some posts got approved that were over a month old... If anyone wants to be a mod, lemme know... if there's ten of us only checking every couple/few weeks, statistically one would think that more messages will get through in a timely manner... There is no need anymore for daily moderation checks, so once in a while is all that is needed...

I don't think you can use the Dreamkey Webbrowser to edit your savegame.

What you could do with it, is backup your savegame after you reached a certain level to be on the safe side if it corrupts again
Blueswirl is the most poular vmu upload service 'http://bswirl.kitsunet.org/vmu/save/public/uploader.php'

Or you can send the savefile with the integrated email client, and later retrieve that mail for backup.

If you have a computer with cd-burner, you should download 'Dream Explorer', it let's you copy/move savefiles for backup
and it have a hex editor for editing of files.

If you don't want to play all the levels again use a cheat disk like
Code Breaker or Action Replay

You might try Blueswirls site, if it's still up.

Try http://www.blueswirl.com

He had a whole bunch of DC tools for use on PC or Dreamcast. I used to create my own VMU pics (displayed on the VMU screen when its plugged in to the DC controller)
using a tool on his site.

I'm doing fine.

I haven't played anything on my Dreamcast for a month or so. That's not good.... my fish will be dead by the time I get back to playing Seaman!

Play-Asia.com Update!

Cast your Dreams - DUX & Wind and Water Puzzle on preorder for Dreamcast

Innovation can be found everywhere. HUCAST and Yuan Works are two small game production groups that win large scale recognition amongst gamers for their innovative products.

Although their games are neither endorsed nor produced under the supervision of the Dreamcast's mother company Sega, it is widely accepted that the games from these two developers are produced to a professional level.

These are games by gamers for gamers.

Developed by HUCAST under the NG:DEV.TEAM of Last Hope fame, DUX is a 2D shooter that combines strategic gameplay with exhilarating shooting not completely unlike its predecessor.

Instead of orbiting satellites, control a cute and chic, pink and orange aircraft and shoot down all the opposing forces. Utilizing the graphical capabilities of the console, the game includes some smooth and vibrant movies that will surely stimulate your gaming appetites.

Although the tactical aspect is still present, it plays a smaller role than in Last Hope, making the system easier to master. Still, not everything depends on your reflexes and button punching skills, you also need an intact brain with adequate memory to carry yourself through this crisis.

If you are less inclined to open fire at your enemies, feel free to take them down in different ways. Shift the balance from adrenaline pumping to tactical skills in the brain twister Wind and Water Puzzle.

Originally designed for GP2X, this famous independent puzzle game has crossed borders and reached Sega's Dreamcast. Wind and Water does not only provide brain twisters, but comedic plot twists as well.

As a newbie game developer Amy, you are entrusted with the biggest challenge you have ever faced. You have to find the missing Yuan Works members and finish the Wind and Water Puzzle Arcade Version before the Grand Contest.

Twist both the blocks and your brain about as you seek ways to destroy obstacles in your path. Group same colored blocks together to make them disappear.

Besides reducing blocks, there are numerous other tasks that you have to accomplish before you can save the Yuan Works staff.

Try your hand at game making and ensure the future of Wind and Water, the Arcade release.

Besides the new shooter DUX, restock of its popular predecessor Last Hope is also expected to arrive just on time for the new releases.

Under the swarming attacks of the alien races, you are the last hope to human salvation. Your mission is as simple as this: Destroy the alien mothership before they destroy us.

Although the order is quite easily understood, its execution is a totally different matter. Ready your beam and satellite and all brain resources you can spare, as you will have to remember the architecture of the levels you travel through and, destroy all enemy crafts to succeed.

Reflex and brains, with these two, you will be able to take on anyone.

Here is the complete independent gaming lineup lineup available at Play-Asia.com.

DUX
US$ 27.90 Not yet published or released
Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles
US$ 39.99 Not yet published or released
Last Hope
 US$ 39.99 Usually ships within 5-15 days

Please be aware that these three games are not officially licensed, designed, manufactured, distributed or endorsed by Sega. Compatibility issues with some Dreamcastâ„¢ consoles manufactured after October 2000 may occur.

So anyway I've still got my 1999 DC with the heat pipe cooling system and a
hand full of games. I've got a Mac a PC and a 360. I still use my DC and it
never needs dusting. Guess those Golden Years are hard to put away. Thanx to the
Old Timers here I learned a lot about computers and networking. (It's in there)
Kudos

Since i (insidious_plots) was never exactly a hardcore gamer, the dc hasn't even been turned on in maybe three years... I eventually built an awesome HTPC but now i am doing in-home care for my ailing mother the last few months, so it's mainly a laptop or my smartphone, which i am typing this email on now... I do have a ps3 (connected to mom's 42" lcd hdtv :) ) and a psp - both gifts - and so i still have plenty of the getting-online- with-a-game- console experience :)

I still read the posts but handed off ownership and control of the group to others long ago...

This is almost like a dcbg old-timers reunion :)

anything anymore. I mainly use my Wii, for webbrowsing alot or the
