Hi folks,

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I had to switch from a UK (PAL) Dreamcast to a Japanese (NTSC) one. However,
despite my memory cards being present at boot (I had to use a boot-disk) when
going online DK3 did not recognise the presence of the "DREAMKEY.SY3" settings
file.
I had to delete the original and change the settings to my liking and then
resave (after deleting the original file - it would not let me over-write,
unlike on my PAL DC).

Are all these problems related to using a boot-disk so I could use DK3 on my
Japanese DC? Also, is there any way to "force" a 60Hz display? On my UK DC the
up/down scrolling was super smooth, but on my Jap DC it is slightly jerky and
the image is now full screen (as opposed to bordered PAL).

Any comments/suggestions welcome.

Regards,
Andrew D. Burton

PS. I'm thinking of altering the groups settings to moderated as I'm fed up of
all this spam (the spam option on groups hasn't worked in weeks). Is there
anything I need to do, other than copy the vids links to the DCBG-Dreameye
group?

Hi all,

A new game heading for the Dreamcast...

Developer(s) Warashi
Publisher(s) Sega
Release date(s) March 2003, Febuary 22 2007
Genre(s) Rail shooter
Mode(s) Single player, multiplayer
Platform(s) Arcade
Media GD-ROM
Input Light gun
Arcade cabinet Upright
Arcade system(s) Sega NAOMI, Sega Dreamcast

Trigger Heart Exelica is a shooter by Warashi, makers of the Saturn shooting
game Shienryu. It was released in Japanese arcades in early 2006. The game runs
on Sega's Naomi hardware.

The game involves playing 1 of 2 anthropomorphic fighters to battle against 5
stages of enemy ships. Exelica specialized in wide area attacks, while Crueltear
uses concentrated front shots. Player can fire anchor to catch enemy ships, then
use the caught unit as shield or throw it to inflict more damage. Like Zanac,
this game dynamic adjusts difficuly based on player's in-game performance.

Dreamcast Version
------------------
Warashi has announced that they will be porting the game to Dreamcast. The
tentative release date for this port is February 22, 2007.

Hi all,

Just wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I just got nearly all the official (US) Dreamcast Magazine demo discs arrive in
the post, after winning them on ebay. I am missing Vol. 2 Dec 1999 and if anyone
has that I would love to buy it off you. I also have Generator Vol. 1 & 2 :)

Most of the discs have various versions of a web browser (Planetweb? - I haven't
got far enough through them to know yet) and I was wondering if they are fully
usable versions online and which version/s I should perhaps avoid, or look out
for.
Going by the cardboard disc covers they are versions 1.1 (Vol. 4, Mar 2000), 2.0
(Vol. 6, July 2000), 2.0 with SegaNet (Vols. 7, Sept 2000; 8, Nov 2000; 9, Dec
2000; 10, Jan 2001) and 2.6 (Vol. 11, Feb 2001).

Any dial-up account should work except America Online or Compuserv.
Juno and NetZero require some configuring for DC access.

Anyone know if the USA free isp type stuff still works with the dc? I
had a juno freebie account kicking around that I made back in
2004,but it seems for the past year whenever I've had the chance
to "try" to get my dreamcast online to simply look for saves

Well, the European DC PSO servers are still up. The USA ones closed in 2005?

I was fortunate enough to play Bomberman Online (after I got it from the USA)
for a couple of months before it closed. Despite the 1 second lag (servers in
USA and me here in UK) it was great fun.

Yes, there are (were?) private Gamecube PSO servers which have been running
since 2004/5.

Yeah, most of the game servers went in 2002.

Ferrari 355: Passione Rossa went earlier this year (Feb 2006).

I wonder if there is some sort of way for fans to create their own servers
for the games to connect to? I heard of this being done for Jazz Jackrabbit
2 on the PC after it was abandoned long ago by the company. People can still
play it!

This is always what happens to me, I'm not much of an online gamer, but by
the time I try to really get into playing online, people aren't in servers
anymore and they take it down. I guess freakin World of Warcraft fans never
have to worry about that as long as new people get brainwashed into it. But
as for Dreamcast, they took down their game servers in 2002 I think, so PSO
fans, consider yourselves very lucky!

The links to my torrent and emulation site are in my yahoo group

P.S. I am in the works to create another website that will allow you to play the roms online and not on your computer.

It was a DC made for Arcades, the name was probably the name of the arcade
branch that Sega supplied them to but I'm unsure. Also it comes with a Black BBA
enstead of Modem, from what I know.

Regulation No. 7 (what's that? a game?) branded Dreamcast.

I have a few questions too...

Was the extension (ext.) port on the back of the Dreamcast used for anything?

I have (somewhere) a Japanese music making program for the Dreamcast I am going
to try and dig up this weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew it's title, as I
haven't used it in 6 years?

Yeah, all thanks to Sony Europe. They repeatedly got Liksang involved in
lawsuits over the importing of the PSP into UK/Europe. It didn't come to light
until afterwards that several execs from Sony Euroe regularly used liksang to
import stuff!

Liksang was where I got the last Dreamcast games from.

Very sad news indeed. Play-Asia was also "threatened" by sony and
they stopped shipping sony products to the EU months ago. Many
customs agents (in the EU again) have orders to report about packages
with the name "sony" or "playstation" on it, making import shops'
life impossible. I know the owner of one of these shops and he
doesn't import any psp related articles anymore.

But again I think sony is carving their own tomb. The only thing they
have left are a few exclusive games for the ps3, but titles don't
remain "exclusive" for too long these days...

Hello everyone,
This Bookmark maker is very similar like japanese hyperbookmark maker, Just
enter Title and URL in big textarea (line by line)
Preview it until you happy with the look and download to VMU, also detect
useragent, Because i dont use frame, all preview, and the result are on the
bottom.

Cool thing is you will able to load your old superbookmark vmfile back and it
will extract all your links so you can add new link, compatible with japanese
hyperbookmark if you still have it and blueswirl compress bookmark file, load
those file and you will see. Currently it will NOT work with individual
bookmark, the one contain 2 blocks. I have a problem with entity characters.
3 styles of html to download
Easy links - Contain 3 favorite links on per lines. rarely have to scroll up and
down, very easy to use. (recommended use this)
Bookmarklet style - Very easy to C/C/P, just click the button on left side.
History style- Just like your DP/DK visited page.

Click "Sample" button, it has 3 links for testing and click Preview. (you will
see zip extractor tool here)
http://m30.hostrocket.com/Vm_bookmark

Thank to Thomazo for the S file maker, And some japanese script.
this is thomazo version of bookmark maker.
http://programadores-sp.freehostia.com/dreamcast/bookmaker.html
His vmfile is not compatible with my page.

If the page doesnt load, most likely my server is down again.
Bookmarklet for this script coming soon.
enter url:x-avfront://---.dream etc in jumpbox so it allow you to load.
(BTW, i havent really test with DREAMKEY 3 browser, please test it and let me
know if it work.)

Hi folks,

I unfortunately lost access to the net last Sunday/Monday when my Dreamcast
(model HKT:3010 (Hong Kong)) started resetting itself randomly (usually every
5-10 seconds). Despite having another one (partially broken - the GD disc drive
doesn't work), a model HKT:3000 (Japanese), I was unable to sort the problem
out.

I did opened up the spare one as a test run and gave it a good clean out. I
checked it still worked and, apart from the GD disc drive, it did. I opened up
the one I had been using and, apart from a dead spder in there, it wasn't at all
dirty.
I looked over the connections and did everything I could to try and get it
working again. It still resets itself randomly, making it pretty useless other
than for spare parts.

I have borrowed my dads one (model HKT: 3030 (UK/Europe?)) so I can get back
online and get a new one from eBay :)

Andrew B
