Do you remember what it is called, the brand name, the model number,
the company that makes it...? Any information would be useful.

Dreamcast was way ahead of its time. Sega had the
prototype for ps2 and Xbox, Sega Net Live online
Broadband game play, Dream Eye, for live Video
Communication, and Mouse Keyboard for the best in firs
person shooter control and targeting (PC quality)
I love my classic Dreamcast, True 640x480P VGA mode
for the ultimate in HD visuals.
Miss DC me too.

Do not fear, fellow Sega fans are here!

Well, I am atleast :)

The files are on BlueSwirls site:

http://blueswirl.shorturl.com

There should be a link to his site on the links/bookmarks page of this group.
It's certainly listed on one of my other groups, SegArchives :)

Once on his site click on the VMU files link and you'll find tonnes of DC files
for downloading :)

For the US version check the "Skies Of Arcadia (US)" folder for:

S.ARCADIAD01
S.ARCADIAD02
S.ARCADIAD03

and if you own a European version check the "Skies Of Arcadia" folder for:

ARCADIA_ED01
ARCADIA_ED02
ARCADIA_ED03

I'm in Spain too, getting online again is easy, but you won't be able
to get those extras for Skies of Arcadia, since the website was taken
down years ago :( (I tried it a week ago and it didn't work). The
online working games are Quake III Arena, Phantasy Star Online and
maybe a couple more.

To get online with your Dreamcast using your 56k dial-up ISP you can
order a DreamKey 3.1 GD from Sega of Europe. They will ship it for
free. It includes a menu to cofigure the Dreamcast so that it uses
your ISP instead of trying to connect to DreamArena. If you use ADSL
it includes information on how to connect using Telefonica Net which
costs the same as a local call. If you need for information just ask
;)

Hey guys,

Even though this may sound real newbish... nostalgia hit me and I
brought my DC out of the closet along with one of the best RPGs ever
made, Skies of Arcadia.

Now I have a problem with perfectionism and always wanting to finish
everything 100%, thing is this game requires to connect to the SoA
webpage to download three extra addons for game, could anyone please
help me with that?

At the moment I'm trying to find DreamKey since it looks for its
settings... Any help would be appreciated.

Hy

Cool Herders:

Well Cool Herders was released some time ago "maybe 2 months" while radilgy
was released this month .

Cool herders is a "homebrew" game . Where you must get all sheeps in the
levels . It have 4 player multiplayer support and looks good in my opinion .
Maybe not "that" game to play alone but if you have some friends and more
then 1 Controller you should concider in getting it for sure ! :)

I wrote a little overview some time ago . It's a bit outdated "new screens
are aviable"
http://chasergame.org/dcarchiv/dcscene/cool_herders/coolherders_preview.html

Radilgy:

From what I read so far , the game is great . Also when you look at some
screenies the grafiks are really cool and a bit like Jet set radios Cell
shaded world . But what worries me on the game is . Does the game have no 2
player mode ? I mean i loved it "and still do" to play ikaruga with my
friend :) and would miss it . ..

Hmm, well I'll soon find out about the other one, as I ordered it :)

It seems that GOAT (Games Of All Types) Publishing are publishing one or two
homebrew games each year, as Cool Herders is one game among several that I
haven't heard of that are all published by GOAT.

some of those that are the great ones were the vmu file uploader which
a ton of people here busted their collective humps on,and doug came in
and helped sort it all out into a working vmu uploader.danny's work on
DPF paved the way for many other custom related things and plot's move
to rename vgsonline/consolebrowsers to something such as DCBG aka
dreamcastbrowsers was huge as well.it cemented the fact that the group
was in fact for dreamcast browsing and not the over reaching all
consoles idea we had originally had.and vgsonline really just wasnt
the name for it either.i remember trying to have a group that included
all but plot's saw that as time went on that other consoles just were
not coming online the way dc had.it made sense to change the
name.although way back then i pitched a royal hissy fit...i just didnt
get it.i do now though thankfully.there were things i was very good at
but managing groups wasnt one of them.people like drobb, karl, and plots
saw this long before i did.did ya know that at one time i even
"plotted" to destroy the groups as a whole.what a messed up set of
events....big headedness can affect those with the best of
intentions.never forget that.

this group stands as a testament to many things not just the browsers
themselves, but also a set of long term users
attitudes, ideas, actions, etc. it is who we were then and who we are now
all in perpetual motion.

well ive rambled enough....i tend to do that sometimes as well..lol

Interesting to look back...

There were literally thousands of relevant

Here is a good timeline of a few (early) events
that helped shape the DC browser world (and the list).

ok,heres how it works,cut/paste this script
to your dp/dk bookmarks, save it. then
when ever you need to use it. just go online
and click it,once in the editor you can
disconnect,edit your html,cut the html,
re-connect,use my ftp link to send the edited
html to your hompage provider.

heres the script to cut/paste
to your bookmarks

JavaScript:document.write("<HTML><BODY bgcolor=DARKB

well, i would like it wider...
but, no matter what number i use, it doesn't seem to get any wider...

it isn't even 35 i don't think... 35 is what i have my editor page set
to, so i set it to the same...

nah, aint to bad though, main reason to even have it offline would be to
not tie up the phone..so its like just making a minute or two phone
call, then disconnecting to do your editing. then connecting to send it
on its way..not bad...could be worse! LOL..

Subject: To Cari From Planetweb

Cari,Ive asked planetweb if they would share a few of the browser
commands with me several times to see if I could get some stuff
working on planetweb that would be fun. For instance, myself and
insidious plots have WORKING bookmarklets that allow for
html, email, etc to be edited offline after a short connect online. they
work on planetweb, the only problem is that the script we have are
suited to dp3/dreamkey..what would fix this problem is commands like
connect and disconnect, the ones when you click the phone icon on the
planetweb browser. in the working html editor i have codes that will
connect and disconnect the dp/dk browsers, but obviously these will not
work on planetweb, thus making the whole thing useless except for the
link to my ftp. everything works great except for those 2 items. Do
you think you could show a working demo to planetweb, and maybe
convince them this is a good thing???? If they would allow just
restrivted access to some of the codes we could offer TONS !
of script related stuff to planetweb users..heres a breif discription
on how it all would work for the planetweb user.

First I would put a <a href> Link to the script on my or plots
website, the planetweb user could click the link and thus save the
script to their bookmarks, anytime they would like to do editing, they
just open the bookmark and click the link to go to the editor which is
generated by the browser. There is 2 or 3 other methods that will work
just as well. Please try and help us with this. Thanks Curtis.

well, just in case, it was the button that said 'upload' that didn't wor
k...

but, i used the script, and i was asking what we are ftp'ing?

i wrote out a script, then hit the ftp button, and it didn't bring the s
cript, and there is no file to move... just script in a text box... if
i can write a script there, then send that script to my account, have i
t make the actual html document, then re-paste and alter, then send aga
in, i want to know... it sounds faster than making a script in an html
editor, then making a new page, and posting all the script i just made i
nto it...

Here is a link to the first semi-working test editor(i forgot about
cut/paste that will be a obstacle on planetweb for now, maybe 3.0 will
have the function..i will solve this problem.)
http://www.angelfire.com/games3/pwvmu/pwtool.vmi

heres the others we found on a japanese users website..they
work...kinda on planetweb..they will at least load..thats the first
hurdle.
http://www.angelfire.com/games3/pwvmu/index.html

im sending this to the dreamcast@... mail list, moderator, would you
please forward this to Cari B. for me? Its a test file for use on
planetweb browsers..they load OFFLINE for use. i would like the
planetweb team to look at them and maybe give some pointers on how to
best give them functionality. (hint!!!! I NEED BROWSER CODES!!!! LOL)

just in case you guys at planetweb are clueless on these, heres the jist.
1.load to vmu
2.click the link in the browser bookmarks
3.see what happens...offline.

these have use

heres how the japanese kid is getting the javascripts to load from the
bookmarks...it isnt neccacarily by putting the script in the "link"
line..its also by putting it in the line where you name the bookmarks.
reason i know this is because every script i tried to get to load on
planetweb after saving it to the vmu with dp/dk wouldnt load the
script...i put the script in the subject line and then saved it with
dp/dk and then loaded the vmu files i ftp'd to angelfire worked
then..interesting.

i was wondering if i could do that with the bookmarklets for planetwebbe

put the script with a <a href> then, i was guesig they could click on it

that's a good idea...
i can add something for the pw'ers to get it...
but, i can add that one for the scripts that will actually work on a pw.
. i am leaving the download feature for when i have that ability, thou
gh... if we find out which scripts can run on thepw, then i can add a l
ink to each one... but, first i have to know the ones that will work...
so, if someone tests them and lets me know, i can add it...

See, this is where owning most of the browsers from 1.0 to 2.6 would
have come in handy. If only I knew what the hell you guys were talking
about. LOL

I'll be a bit busy tomorrow but if the things you're suggesting are
simple to do with the PW browser, then explain it to me like you would
a 4 yr old, when you're not too busy and I'll test it out tomorrow
night. Remember, I'm in your yahoo group so I get all the emails in my

Hi folks,

Anyone know if it's possible to find out the IP address of the server that my
ISP uses to connect me to the net, without calling them?

I am trying to change my mobile/cell phone setup to save me some cash. I
currently spend about 50 pounds every fortnight (2 weeks) by checking me emails
by mobile - very necessary as I get around 50 emails a day and I don't alway
have the online time to check them and do other stuff.

Bah, it's Sony's way of trying to compete with Microsoft on the XBox 360 where
(if it's up and running) you can talk to 3 other people at once via the IP Cam.
BTW, I hear Sony are gonna try and beat Microsoft in the online stakes when the
PS3 comes out later this year!

Well Well we all knew that this day will come that f355 will be cut off .
Even if there are yust 5 Perl scripts on a webserver ..

But Starlancer should not be cut off as the masterList runs over the GameSpy
network . And games are hosted over your dc . Means the masterlist only
holds the Ip adresses

As for Ch@b i really want that someone logs packets from the signin, logout,
send messages ,start chat room , add contacts , As this would be not that
hard to emulate .

All we need is what exactly is send recieved .

So if anyone have a working ch@b/isao account and use his pc with
dreampassport pc . Please download

http://www.ethereal.com/

A free open Source packet sniffer

And log/create packets logs from each process login logout ect .

And save them as eg. login - logout . Plz not one huge packet log make
individual logs for each step

I would do it myself but as we know dppc does not work under win98

Hi all,

We knew it was coming, hoping it be a year or more down the line, but it's the
end of the road.

Ferrari 355 and StarLancer Dreamcast servers have now closed. If anyone knows
differently or wishes to let us know of any remaining online DC servers then
speak now... or forever hold your peace.

I have spent the last 3 years playing F355 twice a week and Starlancer every
Friday. Both will be sorely missed, especially the great (international) friends
that were made.

note: the web archive contains both the older PSD and one of the most
recent xdp releases(not most recent)..but these beat nothing.

when and if psd.com ever comes back, these will have to do i guess.

Sorry I'm late to reply.

Actually the correct URL from now is http://blueswirl.shorturl.com ,
http://bswirl.kitsunet.org is the host and can change at any time, so
make sure you visit the site from the main page using the first URL.

Also I'm sorry about the problems with the site, I'm not responsible
of these, the host had problems lately and I haven't been alerted
before it happened.

But now they have been sorted and I'm working on fixing the bugs that
might still exist. To do so I need you to contact me by e-mail as soon
as you find a problem with a tool or a page of the site. There's a
link to the e-mail box I check in the main menu.

Please when you report a bug make sure you give as much details as
possible about the page, the kind of bug, your browser and other
things that I might need to know to fix it.

I already fixed many bugs lately, most online tools didn't work, as
well as the VMU uploader. So now you should be able to use them like
before, go and post your VMU saves to the site so it can be active
again. ;)

Laters.

Indeed it does sound interesting, but I doubt anyone here owns it. Only an owner
of an official DC devkit would have it, by the sounds of the title. Alternative
try asking the "dcdev" yahoo! group members.
