Depends on who made it. I think
one of the members here has
figured out a way to make chab
ID's permenant.

The main thing is make sure to
log in at least once a month

I know some people who have Chab
accounts going back almost 4 years.
A lot of accounts were deleted
due to inactivity.

Try http://coolwaters1977.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/DCzipper.html

I only tried it once at a zipped file, But it did open it.

Only problem was that the DC could only read 3 out

the 12 files inside.

Probably depends on your browser you use
and the complexity of the files (javascript
or something like that)

As suspected, if you use the US version
of Yahoo mail its unusable on the DC if
you're using the Yahoo SMTP server....

From the Yahoo Help Desk....

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use authentication)

And.....

Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you
will not be able to use it

Dunno about the UK Yahoo however.

Same with Planetweb 3.0 everything works
(sending, receiving) with the OLD version of
Yahoo mail. In fact Yahoo automatically directs
users with older browsers to the old version.

Or do you mean from the DC mail client?

If that's the case its possible Yahoo recently
changed the SMTP setting or now requires
authentication to send out (not possible on
the Dreamcast, theres no setting for it).

Have you (or has Yahoo!) switched you over to the new version?

I have Dreamkey 3 and its works fine on an account I have which is set up for
the old version (with left frame) whilst the new version (without frames) only
lets me read and delete emails. For me to send emails I have to use POP3 on the
browser or, when replying to Y! Group messages, via the group page.

I've never used Yahoo Mail with Dreamcast, but the o
nly thing I can think of is that you should check th
e POP3 and SMTP address in the email configuration o
ptions in the browsers.

You could check to make sure Yahoo Mail didn't chang
e those address and if they have stopped using POP m
ailing.

Sorry for not being of more help, but this it is bes
t I can think of.

Hi.
I dunno how is the hype rregarrdi this browser now, bbut recently i
was working with some php/html forms to upload files.
What i have seen is that forms like:
<form method=post action=somedoc.php enctype=multipart/form-data>
doesn't work with PW (i have only one PW2.0 disc), it gives me a host
not responding type of error and can't load the document pointed in
the action value.
It works fine in DreamPassport 2 (jap, the only i have) if i take the
enctype part out. Infact, i have a JavaScript if() statement wich
checks the navigator.appVersion and renders the correct sintaxe.

What i ask is for examples of forms that work in PlanetWeb, so i can
fix my form.

Any help would be apreciated.

DreamPassport MPEG support is limited due to size limitations. As far as
some pages not fully loading it may be too graphic intensive or lots of
javascript ads stopping it. PW handles javascript better (I've noticed some
ads, log-in sites that use it, etc. work on PW but not DK/DP). Sometimes
hitting "reload" will bring up the cached portion while the rest of it loads
fully. But generally on DK I've found rebooting the DC works best if pages
get too slow. As SONICR mentioned cookies have nothing to do with it, they
aren't stored on DP3.

cookies are temporary cached in the RAM just like
the rest of the stuff the browsers load online.
the only browser that actly Saves them is
DPPremier, but only if you turn on it's VMU
cookie save option.

the MPEG movie problems u where talking about
early sound like just bad MPEGs, I've had it
happen to me.

and the pages not fully loading sound like either
the websites you where loading from Pinged out,
either due to their server or due to ur ISP or
neighborhood's phone lines. or it could be that
ur ISP just doesnt work correctly with the DP&DK
browsers but fine with the PW browsers.
the only time I've ever had anything like this
happen to me is if the webpage I'm loading was to
long, like at some of the MIDI pages at
vgmusic.com. It would help tho when I turned
JavaScript and Cookies off.

I really appreciate the help from you all. I'm doing everything I can to try to
fix the problem.

I tried another modem from another Dreamcast, but it's not helping.

Do you think I should try clearing the Dreamcast internal memory? After doing
this, I have to reenter all ISP information and reset the Date and Time.

Question about Cookies - When you turn Cookies on, does it save to the
Dreamcast's internal memory, or is it erased everytime you power of the system?

Since Planetweb works fine, I was thinking that it was the DP/DK browsers.

Thanks again for your time

if you changed isps, and nothing happened, you will need to change
browsers. if you change browsers, and nothing happens again, then you
will need to check your Dreamcast. maybe its have a memory bug, or
something like it.

well, if you really wants it, just email me:
forsyth_0702atyahoo.com.br. we can discuss about the options. but
believe in me: theres nothing you can do to solve this problem,
changing options.

YES!

good question! here, if i try to open a page with a lot of pics,
capcom vs snk 2 you stop to load the pics. i cant say about fire pro
wrestling, but crazy taxy 2, pso, opens the page with all the pics
without any pain. and if you want to upload a vm file? using capcom vs
snk2, you will up your file fine. but if you use crazy taxy 2, you
will need a script to up your file. as you can see, some browsers work
better than others.

> The standalone DP3 browser gives me the same problems.

well, are you using the "full" Dp 3.0? or is it a "in-game" browser?

if any other guy here say "yes, you need to make some change", ok, but
i assume you dont need to change anything on the options. the
javascript option you chenge to "turn on and off" javascript on your
browser. the "cookie" option is only about cookies, and cookies are
some important information about you, your connection, and more. then,
you dont need to change anything on these options. i think you can
solve this problem in these ways:

1. testing another Dream Passport 3.0. again, can you tell us which
dp 3.0 youre using?

2. try changing isps (internet service providers). its much like a isp
  problem than a browser problem.

3. try to open these pages when you start your connection. if you go
to the internet with your DC, after some time, the DC memory will be
full, then you will need to clear the cache. i assume you know how to
clear browser caches with your DC. if you do not clear the cache, you
will need to reboot your Dreamcast.

im sure, you will solve this problem with one of these steps.

Cheers!

Interesting problems, but I only have DP1 (which I don't use) and Dreamkey 3
(which i do use!).

Certainly, the movie playing before its finished is wierd. I can only say it
must be a bug in the DP sofware (where it believes the file is fully loaded when
it isn't!) since I don't think the programmers would allow it to start playing
before its fully loaded as there would be a danger of it possibly crashing the
Dreamcast, or at the very least corrupting the screen display.
