log in the Java DP with your
full email not just your ID

Advantages:
Uses little system resources
Nothing to download
Can send PC files
URL Chat function
Does access some ISAO services,
myRoom, Add/Delete to your buddy list

Cons:
No Chabcall or Dreamcall funtions
Can't record or listen to any voice chabs
It's a little slower than full DPPC
No function or way to change your ID
or password using Java, you need the
full version (or Dreamcast Passport).
Not skinnable like DPPC or Premier.

Yeah Fallout, it's me hehe. :) Sorry I havent been on PSO lately. Anyway, I use DPJava sometimes, but I would prefer to use the full on DPPC application simply for voicedata support, dreamcall, access to ISAO account information pages, etc. I believe that I remember a similar problem people were having getting PC-PSO to run in win9x. Maybe the solution to that is the same solution to this. Karl, you know more about this than I do, so please jump in and give your advice if your watching.

You need Japanese Windows installed for
it to work with Win 98. Try the JAVA
version instead. It supports URL chat
and file sending. Make sure you have
JIT Compiler enabled in Explorer options.

I just recently got an old pc, put win 98 on it, and soon after
grabbed my DPF disc remembering that it has a DPPC installer on it.
How convienent I thought to myself...until I tried to install it. Now,
the installation process, despite my windows lack of JIS support, is
easy enough to figure out. The problem comes into play when the
installation is at 8% and stops, spits out an error that says
"unspecified error", and gives me a choice of yes or now buttons.
Either of which cancel the DPPC installation and take me to the
NJ-Star installation from the DPF disc (also convienent).

I now seem to recall someone mentioning that windows 98 has a problem
installing any international software, especially japanese. Although I
hear XP has fixed this. I have no doubt that somone here who is a
veteran of the DC browsers scene (Andrew perhaps?) knows a way to get
this thing working and has done it themselves. If anyone knows of an
old 'tut' thats still online somewhere, please post a link. If not,
could someone who knows please reply to this message and enlighten me?
The resource database is gone, and I dont feel like drudging through
the better parts of thousands of messages that have been posted here
throughout the years. Any help would be GREATLY apreciated.

Thanks folks. :)

This home page is very old. As the SegaNet offering expired in 2002.
It suppose the page is still being served for historical reasons.
Even DricasGaming is dead, they folded along time ago.

Hi folks,

Theres nothing wrong with Dreamkey 3, but since (as some of you will have
noticed) Sega Europe has changed the home page, it no longer has the link to the
Dreamkey 3 default browser ISP (BT Click) terms and conditions.

This could mean that your monthly/quarterly bills may increase quite
significantly. I am a BT Click user myself for Phantasy Star Online on the
Gamecube, and on my DC when my ISP goes down, since it doesn't disconnect me
after 2 hours.

Just a friendly warning folks.

yeah yeah Sal ur soooo nice, rrrrright :P
thanx but no thanx about the Chab ID. Free DPP?
Rrrright..... wasnt that way when you IMed me.
thanx but no thanx either way.

dont wanna mention a name yet you copy and paste
my signature.....rrrright like the people here
are sopost to be stupid to not get the hint who?

mad because I dont have the funds? thats not what
all of this was really about but ur ovious to
hard headed to care nor understand a word I said.
lets see if I can make the picture more clear as
to the way I feel.

Lets see.. there are 1,000 US BBAs, plus the
1,000 JP BBAs from the last batch from what, 2yrs
ago? then theres the few other thousand JP BBAs
so lets round it to maybe 10,000 to make this
easier. Not alot for the community is it?

Now we have people like you who have the money
almost anyday to buy them candy, do they need the
BBA? Most No, most of them arent stuck on a DC,
they have the money to buy a PC. But hey maybe
some of these people want to play DC PSO or Q3
online but dont have Dial Up so they get the BBA,
I understand. but then there are others who do
have Dial Up and Broadband, like you, or maybe
they only have Dial Up. Do these people need a
BBA? Not really. Do they need More then 1 BBA?
Definatly no.

Now what if all these people all start haveing 4
BBA, or 5 or more? Well then that starts to leave
Nothing for the people who need them and starts
driving the prices up mad like they are now. Not
very nice nore fair to the rest of the DC
community now is it? Nope. Eventaly there could
be No BBAs for anyone. Why? Because they'd
probably all be setting in peoples' rooms or
closets all because they must feel so special
horeding all these BBAs away from the community
all because they feel the need to buy them since
they can so easily.

Now I know there will be at least some scarce
BBAs out there like they are now every blue moon
but most of them are only out there because they
where bought by some who intentionly horeded as
many as they can to rack in money from them, they
had no intention of really ever using 4+ BBAs. to
bad most of the DC comminity now cant afford them
because of such. It makes me sick as does with
anything else in the world that gets hored for
simmular reasons.

"I have 4 BBAs. There's only 1,000 in the US. I worked harder for them then you.
I'm gonna keep hordeing untill I have as many as I can. Why? BECAUSE I CAN
AFFORD IT! HAHAHA"
people like that is why the world sucks.

>Wtf are you talking about

Wow where you been the last 4 years?

Anyway Chab is an instant messenger service that
can be run on Dreamcast or a PC or Mac. Nice thing
about it is DCer's can talk to PC'er's live.

DPP is the software to run Chab on the Dreamcast.
BBA is the "broadband adapter" to use high speed
internet on the DC. Hope this clears it up a bit.

most are just to big or arent MPEG1 coded anymore
so even if you do find a file is it really worth
10-15mins of downloading to watch a pixelated
low-res 5-10second clip?
