HI all,

someone told me that the Worms World Party servers a
re still up... and they definately appear to be. I g
et a 'connected to server' message, but then I get t
his message:

"A connection error has occured. Would you like to t
ry to reconnect to the Worms World Party server?"

I have tried changing ISP's (I have tried Bt Click
and my normal one BoltBlue) and display mode (50Hz &
60Hz), but it still comes up.
Te only other thing I can think of is that my DC has
no DreamArena info in it, could be that be why?
I know its not my DC because I still play F355 and S
tarLancer on a weekly basis, not to mention surfing
the 'net.

Also, I have a full list of all months from Dec. 200
0 up to now of the PSO VBBS. There are close to a 10
0,000 images currently stored on there. Here's the l
ink to the page on my site:

nice, thx. since mozilla doesnt have any midi plugin (afaik) it should
redirect you to the main page with the flash menu but without the
bgmusic frame. maybe your javascript errors mean you werent redirected
to the good page, ill check if the user agent matches the condition.
thats strange it didnt work with the proxy, i also noticed when i
enable the proxy in mozilla i cant post/reply/login here, whenever i
click a link it just does nothing or reload the current page o_O

well actually it should be optimized for pc and dc browsers, but i
cant test every pc browsers. i use mozilla now and it works so i dont
really know whats the prob, tho i got this infinite reload with other
site that worked with msie before. try to remove your proxy and let me
know. also what options did you choose? did you turn on javascript and
turn on the anti-popup? what's your user agent?

Hi glad you got everything saved and
running ok. Just one thing when I
redirect to the new site the page won't
quit loading. Even if I break out of
the frame...it just loads and loads
(although no new data appears).

Is it a midi or something trying to
play? Or maybe a mozilla problem?

Of course I realize it's optimized for
Dreamcast users so i'm not complaining..

i think some people would have asked the question soon or later so i
prefere to post something before.
for those who always access to the pages of my site directly without
visiting the main page you may have noticed they are not available
anymore.
basically my host changed again and i modified the links, everything
is back except some tools that will need to be modified to work with
the new host.
also the new host dont support udp sockets atm so the q3 scanner is
down for now.
i posted the news on my main page so be sure to read it for more infos.

also that depends what you compare between pw and xdp/psd, as you may
know xdp/psd contain an hacked pw2.6, was your pw official? and is the

i thought about the same thing karl mentionned.
you see with dk3 you can see the sega account info but only edit the
user account infos.
there are 2 options where you can choose between sega/user, one is the
one you want to see/edit, the other one is the one you want to use.
if you have a doubt make sure both are on user.
then dont forget to save the settings to the internal memory before
leaving the menu.
hope that will solve the problem.

also for the at command just leave it blank, some people will say teel
you some at commands can speed up your modem but these are tales.

Describe the error message...exactly. Do
you get the "connecting noise" DreamKey
makes then it suddenly pops up? Or
does the message appear as soon as you
hit connect (modem not detected)?

It is may latest... hobby. I have added about 40 "non-desktop"
browsers in our code to use the special page that is simpler than
the desktop site (all information is in tact though, we don't cut-

I have been using a dc for online access now for about 4 months I have had
constant problems with the planetweb browser series connecting. On ALL versions
it takes a minimum of 30 dialing attempts to connect up to ALL DAY. I recently
got XDP and DPP and they connect the 1st time everytime... What is PW doing that
XDP and DPP doesnt? Is it the modem settings they were all default then changed
twice now back at default... It sucks not being able to find out which I like
better (I know XDP is less than legal). Can anyone tell me what the hell is
wrong?

Karl,

I still can't understand this, I have checked everything, I can
totally guarantee that I am not doing anything wrong. When you say
isp2 settings, do you mean the section on options where you can
choose between "sega" and "user"? I have even toggled with that and
it hasn't made any difference! I guess there is probably nothing
anyone can do for me seeing as I am doing everything right. I
seriously don't think my modem is broken either, it hardly even looks
touched!

What kind of circumstances should AT settings be used? I shouldn't
need to use them though. At the moment, I only want to use the
default BT click ISP just so that I know that it will connect, then I
will go for my own ISP.

Are you absolutely sure all the settings
were saved to the DC internal memory?
You can connect with DreamKey 3.0 but to
use your own isp you MUST have it set to
connect to isp2 in the DreamKey options.

Unless of course you use the default isp
or set it up with Planetweb 2.0 first.

I assume the phone cord is plugged in
tightly on both ends and the modem is
installed correctly. It will work if
everything is right. I (and others here)
use DreamKey on our DC's.

To all those things you said, yes I have done all of those,
everythings set up fine, it's all connected, passwords and numbers
are fine, etc.... my Gamecube is working perfectly with all the same
leads and ISP's, etc....

As for where I got my new modem from, I got it from e-bay.co.uk for
£5. I really don't think the modem is faulty though! I have looked at
it, it's immaculate, no scrathes or rattling, and the guy who sold it
has an excellent feedback record.

I am getting a bit annoyed by it seeing as it seems that it is just
as easy to connect to it as it ever used to be.

The Sega/BT one (BT Click) is fine.. I use on for GC
PSO.

I take it your old modem doesn't work?

Are you sure you put the new one in correctly? Are
there any hairs or foreign material on any of the
connectors (I am talking about modem to DC).

Are you sure that the cable is fully connected in to
the back of the DC (it wil click) and that its fully
connected in to the phone socket?

The last thing I can think of is, have you set up your
DC correctly? I mean have you accidentally got it set
for a pulse phone line instead of tone (or whatever
the other option is)?

Just curious, where did you acquire your new modem
from?

Just so you know, i am on my DC right now and use

cheers for the replies.
I was using onetel as my isp and had no problems with
them and they were always great for giving out
alternative dial up numbers if i had slow connections.
Unfotunately as I said previously for the past few [ie
5] months Ive been having intermitant phone line noise
problems which even after loads of engineers have been
called out, BT have still not resolved and they have
the nerve to kee chaging me line rental fee's... 60%
of the time im unable to even use my phone line let
alone use my DC online. hence im fed up and just want
to dump the BT line. NTl tie you up for a 12 months
contract so wanted to make sure they are fine with a
DC before I commit to them.
ayways cheers for the advice Ill get in contact with
ntl to check prices and avavailability. Then maybe
soon i can get to use My DC online again.

i made a tool that creates the EXTRA.BG.PVR file from a pvr texture,
or directly from a png/gif/jpeg image.
in the case you choose the direct conversion keep in mind the biggest
the dimensions are, the heaviest the resulting file is.
here are the images dimensions and the corresponding size:

16x16 = 512bytes ~= 3 blocks
32x32 = 2048bytes ~= 7 blocks
64x64 = 8192bytes ~= 18 blocks
128x128 = 32768bytes ~= 66 blocks

im not sure you can use intermediaire dimensions, but what is sure is
you cant get higher than 234x234 (almost 200 blocks).
the texture is automatically readjusted anyway so even if you choose a
64x64 image the result will look good.
it has been tested with dk3 and mozilla but should work with any dc/pc
browser.

Just thought i'd add, you wont be able to qualify for the Freedom package living in an NTL Cable area. You'll have to switch your phone to NTL Cable(which you say your doing anyway) and then its £10 a month just for straight 24/7 net access. No free phone calls and such like i get but still a damn good deal! Go for it. If you have any probs just post here.

Superb. I'm with NTL, have been for nearly a year and had no problems with Dreamcast. Its the best value 56K ISP i've found. You dont even have to be in an NTL Cable area(i'm in a Telewest area) as long as you have a BT Phoneline. I'm on the NTL Freedom package. 24/7 Free Internet, half price phone calls and £15 worth of free telephone calls a month thrown in, all for £15 a month, so really its like your gettin all my internet access for free ;) Been havin some problems connectin between 8-10pm lately thou since they changed their dial up number, takes a few attempts :/ Hopefully that'll change soon.
Another thats good for DC(thou not as good value) is Onetel. I was with them before NTL.
