Dreamkey 1.5 corrupts Ch@b data, well it just has on
my DC. I just did some surfing with it and when i put
my DPP back in and tried to connect i got a warning
about Ch@b and Dreamcall and was taken directly to the
Profiles page, not that it matters, the data was
useless anyway. Now all my Ch@b/Url Chat Menus etc are
greyed out.

Latest Update ;) If what i read is correct, you dont
need a PC at all to get an ISAO Account it can all be
done throu your DC and once you've got an ISAO Account
it covers everything there if what i read is right
that is and it says its just a 5 minute job to
register which can be done throu any of their Game
sites like PSO etc. Anyway, i just need to translate
the registration form to see what it all says. From
what i can see it asks for DOB, 3 possible Id's you'd
wanna use, Gender, and some other info so i'll try it
all out tomorrow and see what happens..... I wouldnt
get your hopes up thou, i could be wrong.

If that fails theres always the hard way of dialing
directly in to Japan like ppl used to do in the old
days, does that way still work???

Do you know how you can access the hidden Megadrive
Games in Dream Passport Premier by typing
file:/dpwww/arashige/index.html into the Url Bar, what
is the game that is shown in the top left and the
option thats shown bottom right? I know the others are
Columns, Flicky, Puyo Puyo, Pengo and Ghouls & Ghosts
and then theres Dream Flyer Light also. I cant seem to
access them on my DPP thou because when i click on
them it goes to the Loading screen and then resets to
the DCs main menu but my copy of DPF has them all
seperately anyway which you can access from the main
menu apart from the 2 i just mentioned and was just
wondering what they are?

Could someone who has working ICQ go to this address
and see whether you can pick up your messages ok.

http://tagtag.com/cgi/wapemulator.cgi?O__SKIN=P1&wurl=wap88.com/icq/Default.jsp%\

I can Login fine with the ICQ Number and Password i
got by registering online on my DC but when i try and
send myself a msg i dont get it :( If i could get it
to run perfectly i was thinking of integrating it into
a VMU Based Dk/Dual Surfer and have it running in a
top frame so you can carry on surfing as normal while
Logged in. It refreshes and checks for messages
automatically, fine, on a regular basis so if we can
get the Idea to work we could have a working IM on
Dreamcast. What does anyone else think?

Thats good then. I hope it lasts this time. I've tried
to find some more info out by Translating help files
etc. I dont know if this means anything but one
section read(or seemed to read) that they arent
accepting any more ppl signing up for the Kids
Accounts for the time being. Does anyone else know
anything about this? What is a Kids Account? I can
send a copy of the translated page to anyone who might
be able to help.

As for the ICQ, i found a way of accessing it on any
DC Browser throu a Web Based Wap Emulator, for some
reason thou my ICQ messages dont seem to be getting
throu :( It works perfectly too, you get your full
Online/Offline Buddy Lists, it checks for messges
automatically every minute or so or you can do it
manually, very similar to Ch@b, thou obviously not as
good. So until i can find a way of pickin up my ICQ
Messages and find out why they aint gettin throu
ICQing Buddies throu Email is the only way.

I've set this test page up!

http://www.geocities.com/denismartindale/aclick.html

You don't press anything till
you've read the details...

I try to explain possible uses!

If you didn't know about the
possibility of such things then
a few games could be played
on the unsuspecting visitors.

eg TYPE YOUR NAME FOR A
MYSTERY WEBSITE TOUR...

As soon as the first letter is
typed, they're off!

Unless used with care, this
could frighten a few folks!
(links lead to pictures as well
as websites and websites do
update their sites and their
pictures so what seemed nice
yesterday could turn nasty
tomorrow... eg news updates!)

The novelty of clicking letters
might brighten up email and
make spam more interesting!
So maybe we shouldn't tell 'em!

NB VIEW SOURCE OF MY TEST PAGE
TO CHECK THE EXACT HTML COMMAND.

Remember? Press and hold down A
and then START 10 times...

Press S2 then highlight CANCEL
then press the X and the A at the
same time to display the text.

Control plus A to select all text,
Control plus C to copy,
Control plus X to cut and copy to
the temporary clipboard...
Control plus V to paste...

eg as a YAHOO HTML tags enabled
webpage style email....

CUSTOMISE the html to suit,,,

I found a useful yahoo logins
page besides this one:

http://yahooscriptno.does.it

(Click Cancel if script prompt shows)

The latest logins page shortcut is:

http://yahooemailcookie.does.it

Scroll down past Yahoo/Geocities
website login down to the EMAIL...

Type in username, yahoo ID

Type in password

Click to Save 6 month cookie

Click Submit

Otherwise try the first login page or

Well it seems to work in Japan, why do you think the
DC has lasted so long there and its still going

http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=2986#2986

I agree in a way thou, they dont seem to listen to any
of their Fans outside of Japan and i very much doubt
they ever would, for them to take notice it would have
to have a hell of a lot of support behind it which it
just hasnt got. We're a dying breed. Lol.

you know petitions are only ppl who say the same thing over and over,
sometimes its usefull when it can reach the personn who it is
destinated to but this time i really doubt sega will change his mind.
there were a loooot of dc petitions, everybody know already the dc
end was a big waste, but hopefully it wont die thx to the ppl who
still have interest in it and the programmers that can use the

Granted Blueswirl, this is true. Sega has killed th
eir end of the DC and its manufacture long ago but i
t shouldnt be considered a waste of time to petition
for something that was never given a chance to reac
h its full potential. As
im sure you are aware, many sucessful enterprises ha
ve been given launch and are still implementing some
of the oldest systems a pc can offer today such as
Fiserv- a 35 yr old banking online system.

We as DC consumers still after 2 years should be giv
en the opportunities to have the full potĦĦtial of o
ur little machines exploited. I for one felt very c
heated after Segas demise of their final game consol
e. After much research it has become apparent to me
that more and more ISPs are seeing its lost potent
ial and are now
offering services that specifically are aimed at the
Dreamcast. Why allow it to die any more
than it has with an estimated 7 million units in the
hands of consumers, parts being available, and oves
eas games still being produced,, lets work together
to find ourselves a voice. Why not a petition just
to let others know that there are supporters, consum
ers, and technical researchers that believe it is s
till a viable internet accessible tool as well as a
very fine game deck? Maybe something can help our
cause if we
stand together on these issues ? This is DCBG
after all. Arent we supposed to support our fellow
group members? Just food 4 thought...
Regards to you and DCBG

Yeah i know about that one i've used it. You can send
an ICQ Message to any ICQ User from any Email account
anyway i've just found out, just add @pager.icq.com to
the end of their Id Number and they can Reply.

I found the page i was after anyway, it was in the
Email they sent me, http://go.icq.com/ Their Web Based
Icq page. I cant get the link to launch it to work
thou, damn! Maybe someone on a PC could go in there
and post the Link directly to it?
What i was thinking of was maybe a way to get Icq
itself workin on DC throu that, to an extent, with
Buddy Lists, the lot, maybe even a VMU Based Icq
Client that you load up similar to a DK Surfer. Mad
idea, probably wouldnt work ;)

Well i just realised i now have full Icq Capabilities
on my Mobile Phone thou throu wap88.com. I have a
special Sim Card that gives me Free Unlimited
Wap/Mobile Internet access so its perfect for me.

Its a complete mystery to me so far. I know many DC users who's accounts
were deleted yet others have never had any problem whatsoever. Some here
have had accounts still good for two years or more. Very strange, wish I
had an answer to give everyone but I'm puzzled.

Look in the links section. Theres another way DC'ers can send ICQ
messages with no ICQ account needed. I have recieved ICQ messages from
DC users and can even reply to them.

I've just been experimenting with ICQ and you can
actually Register for ICQ on a Dreamcast. You cant
exactly Download the Software but you can Register and
get an ICQ Number online. Does anyone know if you can
actually pick up your messages Online throu your ICQ
Unified Messaging Centre? When i get the chance i may
look into it more later on today.

Oh, and you can ICQ any User from any Email Account,
just send it to (ICQ NUMBER HERE)@pager.icq.com and
you can then chat to them throu your Email Account.

Sorry i messed up then, its attached to this mail ;)
  Its worth bokmarking the http://www.mezzofanti.org/
translation/ one too for when you might have a block
of text you want translating, from different langua
ges but like i said the translations can be VERY ROU
GH.

What you put didnt show up properly on DP3's Mail Cl
ient, what do you mean Bottom Right? If you give me
some more info i may still be able to help.

Well if i manage to find someone to set me up anothe
r Account so i can try something and it works i'll l
et you know, but if what i'm speculating is true and
all new accounts are "Pay Accounts or No Accounts"
then there dont seem to be much point, you may as we
ll just stick to your Planetweb IRC and Dreamkey 3.0
for Surfing. There is 1 Japanese guy i could try, h
e may be able to throw more light on the situation,
i'll mail him and see what he says.

I have noticed that unregistered posters at Drobbs b
oard
may be experiencing some trouble with double posts,
lycos
overrun on the screen among other things. It has be
en
our experience that once we registered with the Boar
d,
most of these problems were alleviated. If you use
a DC,
solely as your internet access, you will need to hav
e Drobb
set u up an acct. There is an earlier post from Dro
bb detailing
what needs to be done. The only problem that still
exists
after registration is the double post prob. If you
are browsing
with a Dk or DP a quick solution is to hit cancel on
  your right
trigger. The alternative is to click on "view your
  message"
at the info screen that appears after your post. Ho
pe this proves helpful. :)

ditto about the beta testing new browser if one ever comes. wouldnt it be nice
if there was one browser that could do everything all 3 browsers can do now? add
in all the extras that are possible and the skys the limit. i dont mind if its
legitimate or not, just as long as its original.
