this is covered in the quick notes database and prob
ably elsewhere...
but, those file extensions are just native to the dc
browser... what you should send from a pc would be
just a jpeg, gif, mpeg, etc.... then the dc browse
r saves it in its native format...
looking at it from the other side, if you send a vid
from a dc browser (a .V file), when you open it on
a pc, it would just be a vid... it should only have
the .P, .V, .O, etc. naming scheme when it is in th
e dc browser... before it gets there and after it i
s sent from it, it is back in its original form...
a dc browser SAVES a .V file, it MAILS an mpeg file.
.. (btw, this is NOT the way planetweb browsers do
it...)
i know there is an entry in the quick notes database
about sending attachments from pc to dk/dp, start t
here... there is probably another useful entry or t
wo in there about this sort of thing as well, and th
at first entry has a link to even more info about it
, including examples...
though. the first thing to know about sending a file
from pc to dk/dp is to be sure the message itself i
s in plain text format... you can even send multipl
e attachments from pc to dk/dp and it can handle it,
though, it will only recognize and save the first a
ttachment...
but, this is stuff that is covered in the database e
ntry i referred to...
