im not sure what u meant but heres what i know, maybe it will help u:
PASSPORT.X** and DREAMKEY.X** correspond to the unidentified mime
types files. when u send a file from dc to pc it actually sends the
file in dreamcast encoding. so if u want to send a good PASSPORT or
DREAMKEY file as an attachment from ur pc to ur dc u have to use the
same encoding. i never saw a PASSPORT.V** nor a DREAMKEY.V** but i
know if u send an image from ur pc as an attachment it will be saved
on the VM as a DREAMKEY.P** or PASSPORT.P** if u read it with ur pop
account with dk/dp (till its size is less than 200 blocks i guess)
maybe it will work with videos too (but the size may be too big)

yes images have never been a problem..... but these .V files, made with Dreameye, (short 25 second clips) to be honest I'm not sure they are even mpegs because...
if u say dk3.0 can view them but not earlier dk it could be mpeg, also i read an olad message where insidious plot was showing a mpeg (juggling dices) and said...

Thats another problem (maybe) A vid recieved by Passport can not not be viewed in DreamKey it must be recieved as a DreamKey file and I don't know if it can be...
