Thanks for the input Zoot. Its been awhile since i
looked inside one, and for some reason, i honestly
thought it was more. i just looked in mine thats broke
down, and indeed you are correct :) you also say that
a wore out laser can cause power supply failure? i
never knew that. thats good to know. might be one of
the things thats wrong with the one of mine that quit.
darn thing just stopped spinning discs... and it was
very abrupt. very few problems prior to that.

Ah yes, the dreaded resetting disease. If you observe at the 6 pins (with the power board disconected) you may see a black residue, causing conection problems ...

That should solve it. I had a Dreamcast that did EXACTLY the same, i just dont think you are cleaning the Pins enough. Give them a really good clean, bending...
