Trap door? Oh, well... thanks! I'll look out for it...
Although right now I'll have to start from scratch because my files all got
corrupted! ARGH!
Every time I try to get the bone key, my Visor resets... *sigh*
Level 10 characters! All gone...! *sobs*

After you kill the prince, get the key and retrieve fragment 1... the map shows
another area to the SE... can't reach it. Is there something I've overlooked?
Thx!
Have you found a door that you can not open because you are not strong enough?
If so, find someone strong. If not find the door... The treasure you seek is
behind that door.

My partner and I bought two licenses of DBII so we could play together. I've already torn through this part of the game
and, even if tortured by watching George Bush speeches, would not be able
to say where I found the Gold Key. The walkthrough seems clear
about this, but I just looked at his game and the area mentioned in the walkthrough is very empty. He's already done the trap at
Sewer 2 (3,14) and has no Gold Key.
Could it have been stolen? Do the chests load randomly?
Or, just like the daily quest for his wallet and keys that he swears have vanished into the quantum singularity that bounces around the house, could he have misplaced it? Is this even more evidence that
his reality is separate from everyone else's? Please help.
He's getting all cranky and I may have to smother him in his sleep.

I did finally kill him. I did not realize Caleb and Unger could cast Near
Foe. I also got larger weapons that killed better. I kept on casting near
foe even when he did not retreat. But many times he retreated and my big
guys dexterity was not fast enough. I had Ensir cast treat party a lot and
he kept up with the hits. Ta'Kall eventually was Ta' Killed. Thanks for
the tips...

I think your problem is that Heric is under armored. I believe by level 11
I have him down to
AC -3. I also think Caleb and Unger are a little light (I seem to remember
them being -6 and
-5 by now). Are you spending time in the NT armor shop? My "usual" party is
Unger, Tesser,
Heric, Ensir and Poe. Poe is much better at healing and I believe you
should consider having
him in your party. I believe this is the toughest battle in the game. The
only time I've had a
character die is battling Ta'kall (during playtest he was known as Gargon)
but that was at level 8,
which is too early for this battle. My strategy for Ta'kall is usually to
wipe out his group of friends,
ignore anything he summons and use near foe by both Unger and Heric to get
him up to 10'. Poe
uses a bow except when he has to heal the group. Ensir casts Mana Spirit
unless he has to
renew the Wind Mage and the three front men attack with hand weapon bow and
hand weapon. If
Ta'kall moves away, I have Heric cast near foe because he goes before Unger
and tell Unger to
swing assuming Ta'Kall will be in range. I admit I usually shun the
multiple target weapons in
favor of max damage per foe single foe weapons.
Believe it or not, you can win this battle at level 13 with NO fighters
(just the Sorcerer, Thief and
Necromancer), but you might want to save that challenge for your next
playthrough :-).

Use Caleb or Unger to cast the Near Foe (or both of them). If I recall
correctly, Heric can cast it as well. My usual tactic is to drag the
scaly pest to 10' on the first turn by having everyone that can do a Near
Foe, and ignore the Dark Knights as long as Ta'Kall is in range. I'm
also
not sure that just a single magic user is sufficient here - I haven't
tried that configuration (I'm currently running 2 fighters, three magic
users, and having a grand ol' time - except for running like heck to get
into the sunlight after every major battle).

What you might try doing is to completely delete DB2 (I know: bummer) download
it again from Mythologicl and re-install it and then put in your license
key. Sound to me that you might have a coruppted file. That's hapened to

know it's a pain, but the game is worth it. I'm playin DB2 on an M505 with

My partner and I bought two licenses of DBII so we could play together. I've already torn through this part of the game and, even if tortured by watching George Bush speeches, would not be able to say where I found the Gold Key. The walkthrough seems clear about this, but I just looked at his game and the area mentioned in the walkthrough is very empty. He's already done the trap at Sewer 2 (3,14) and has no Gold Key.
Could it have been stolen? Do the chests load randomly? Or, just like the daily quest for his wallet and keys that he swears have vanished into the quantum singularity that bounces around the house, could he have misplaced it? Is this even more evidence that his reality is separate from everyone else's? Please help. He's getting all cranky and I may have to smother him in his sleep.

- Either one of the people in your party has the segment and you didn't notice it (5 characters holding 10 items is 50 items to check. It's easy to miss one), or
- Someone in one of the inns has it, possibly a dead character, or
- There is a bug in the program. If this is the case, you'll have to email Jason or Gabe.
I always leave my segments with someone in an inn so I don't have to carry them with me the whole time.

Anyone had one of the segments taken?
I had segment one removed, now I need to find out where it went. I still have segment two but lost the first one.

Hi
"pdb" files are Palm Deta base files and are meant to be put in the
"install handheld files" when you hot-synch along with the prc file
Hope this helps

I spoke to
Kopos in the Centurian Frontier and he wants to wait for me to make room in my
party. (I thought this was changed in one of the release versions like the
strong man and Soli who just tag along now.) Anyway I went back to NT, dropped
off Wythera, and came back and Kopos says: “Kopos is here and is ready to join
your party.” I click “Invite,” and he says, “Your party is full. I will wait
here until you make some room.”
I found the game backup files, resyncd at got back to the the place
where the last Fatal Exception left me. Knowing I have a few hours
of work to get back to where I was before this all started happening,
I went back to the tower. With hitpoints depleted and spellpoints
gone, I staggerd back to New Trelon. Slept, spent some time at the
shop trading and identifying, then went out into the wilderness to
look for sunfruit. At dusk I went back to New Trelon. The gaurds
greeted me, I pressed "OK" and got a Fatal Exception again.
I definitely won't be playing it anymore until this is fixed. If a
fix takes too long, I'll be asking for a refund and/or denying the
charges on the credit card.

I've got 4.6M free in the main memory. BTW: Whoever did the memory management for Palm OS should be spanked. Its very kludgy that an expansion card doesn't just extend the base memory. Make sure you have enough memory free. The way Palm OS works, when an app
is run off of an expansion card, it has to copy the whole thing to main
memory. This means you will need at least 1.4M free on your handheld's main
memory when you run DB2 from the card.
When you exit the game abnormally, and you restart, you will resume at the
last place you exited the game (it only saves your position when you select
save, or exit the game). You could load a save game at this point though if
you have a newer one saved.

A *lot* stronger than that is needed. You might go see if you can find
someone to help - go talk to some townsfolk and bartenders. They're quite
sympathetic souls. (Or scan back through the archives for spoilers).

Well, since they run on the Palm, you may need to open the Palm
installation program to download them to the Palm. On the PC, it defaults
to firing up the Palm program Installer, but that may not be the case on
the Mac. You need to set up the download, then sync.
Hope this helps!
