If you've got the bottle, go back to level 1, southeast part in the
corridor of the teleport circle, there is a fountain which you
couldn't use before. When you activate it now, the bottle will be
filled with blood.

Starting with the square down the corridor, step on all the marked squares before trying to pick up the stone.

The Palm OS adventures will need to be re-released for iPhone as new
apps. We're in discussion to release PD, and there may be others
developing new adventures. We encourage anyone who is interested to
look at the tools an contact us if they have questions. Some have
even suggested collaborating on an adventure in the past.

They are both available on PocketGear. There is a demo of PD in the

PS, I forgot to warn you that the spinning traps usually came in sets
of 2 (or more) in the same tunnel. So, when you find the 1st trap,
watch out for 2nd one!

Thanks Rex! That does sound very useful. I've been too busy to play
for the last week or two, but I left off in a dungeon that *does* have
those spinning traps so I'll be sure to take your approach as soon as
I have time to resume.

The important thing about the Magic Campass that I remember is it was
very helpfull in finding the Spinning Traps in the floor mazes. You
could take 1 step at a time watching compass and see when the arrow
changed direction on you. Then you turn back around (180 or 90 degrees)
to face direction you want to go while still standing on Trap. This is
better tha contantly switching between Map and Game Views.
I also remember that it was best to choose character who had a natural
compass charm built-in so no spell was needed.

The compass comes in very handy when weaving ones way through mazes of trees, and obstacles outdoors. It avoids the need to constantly switch to map view.

Thanks. I think you're right. The online manual says,

A magical compass appears and points the way for a short time. While in effect, you will see the compass charm in your 3-D view.

And I do see that on my screen; but what I don't understand is, what's its practical benefit then? If you lose track of the direction you're facing you can always pop up the map. Why would mana points be spent get information already present in the interface? It would be as if, say, a second way to see your stats were offered that was slightly more convenient than going through the normal clicks, but that charged mana points. It's just not sensible, and the author of this game really seems to have it together beyond the point of doing anything that silly.

Why would mana points be spent get information already present in the interface? It would be as if, say, a second way to see your stats were offered that was slightly more convenient than going through the normal clicks, but that charged mana points. It's just not sensible, and the author of this game really seems to have it together beyond the point of doing anything that silly.

It's there so if a character in your party does not have the charm, and you want it, you can cast it temporarily.

Again it's been a long time since I've played, but is the map always
available? One of the things the developers of Legacy did was
provide the ability for level designers to disable the map in certain
areas. If Dragon Bane II does something similar, then I can see
where the compass could be useful. Also, it can help some of the
less acute folks keep their bearings without having to pull up the
map every few seconds.

It's actually been quite some time since I've played Dragon Bane II,
and I don't honestly recall the magic compass spell. If I had to
guess, though, I'd say it displays a little icon on the screen
indicating which direction you're facing.

Right! After having my mind blown by the "Fulckiger" name, I stopped
reading. Who wouldn't?

I don't see why.

That's what I hoped it meant. On the other hand, though, it *could
have meant* that you were ruling out peace.

Any idea as to what the Magic Compass spell does?

On the walkthrough page that you mentioned, right under the big bold
letters that say "Dragon Bane Walkthrough", this sentence appears:

"Here is the uncensored walkthrough, written by Larry Fluckiger, in
his own words (last updated Sep 5 2000)."

On that merit, it made your original post sound a bit rude. If you
didn't see that sentence, I'm not really sure what to tell you, but
it's definitely there. In that context, everything I said still
stands, though it's moot at this point, because you got the
information you needed anyway, if I'm not mistaken.

And "Peace Out" just means something to the effect of "no harm
intentioned" or something like that. In other words, I wasn't posting
to pick a fight or anything. Just trying to point out something.
