cant think of one
thing, and im sure ill kick myself when i find out, but could someone please

PS, I forgot to warn you that the spinning traps usually came in sets
of 2 (or more) in the same tunnel. So, when you find the 1st trap,
watch out for 2nd one!

Thanks Rex! That does sound very useful. I've been too busy to play
for the last week or two, but I left off in a dungeon that *does* have
those spinning traps so I'll be sure to take your approach as soon as
I have time to resume.

Someone else mentioned that "charm," though at the time I didn't know
what he was referring to. I haven't encountered it yet but I now get
what you mean.

Thanks again, especially to Rex, but to all others, as well, who've
helped me with this question,

The important thing about the Magic Campass that I remember is it was
very helpfull in finding the Spinning Traps in the floor mazes. You
could take 1 step at a time watching compass and see when the arrow
changed direction on you. Then you turn back around (180 or 90 degrees)
to face direction you want to go while still standing on Trap. This is
better tha contantly switching between Map and Game Views.
I also remember that it was best to choose character who had a natural
compass charm built-in so no spell was needed.

The compass comes in very handy when weaving ones way through mazes of trees, and obstacles outdoors. It avoids the need to constantly switch to map view.

And I do see that on my screen; but what I don't understand is, what's its practical benefit then? If you lose track of the direction you're facing you can always pop up the map. Why would mana points be spent get information already present in the interface? It would be as if, say, a second way to see your stats were offered that was slightly more convenient than going through the normal clicks, but that charged mana points. It's just not sensible, and the author of this game really seems to have it together beyond the point of doing anything that silly.

Again it's been a long time since I've played, but is the map always
available? One of the things the developers of Legacy did was
provide the ability for level designers to disable the map in certain
areas. If Dragon Bane II does something similar, then I can see
where the compass could be useful. Also, it can help some of the
less acute folks keep their bearings without having to pull up the
map every few seconds.

Thanks. I think you're right. The online manual says,

A magical compass appears and points the way for a short time. While in effect, you will see the compass charm in your 3-D view.

It's actually been quite some time since I've played Dragon Bane II,
and I don't honestly recall the magic compass spell. If I had to
guess, though, I'd say it displays a little icon on the screen
indicating which direction you're facing.

Right! After having my mind blown by the "Fulckiger" name, I stopped
reading. Who wouldn't?

That's what I hoped it meant. On the other hand, though, it *could
have meant* that you were ruling out peace.

Any idea as to what the Magic Compass spell does?

On the walkthrough page that you mentioned, right under the big bold
letters that say "Dragon Bane Walkthrough", this sentence appears:

"Here is the uncensored walkthrough, written by Larry Fluckiger, in
his own words (last updated Sep 5 2000)."

On that merit, it made your original post sound a bit rude. If you
didn't see that sentence, I'm not really sure what to tell you, but
it's definitely there. In that context, everything I said still
stands, though it's moot at this point, because you got the
information you needed anyway, if I'm not mistaken.

And "Peace Out" just means something to the effect of "no harm
intentioned" or something like that. In other words, I wasn't posting
to pick a fight or anything. Just trying to point out something.

It's because whoever designed the website wanted to make it difficult
for someone to inadvertently see a spoiler and to accomplish that
selected a presentation style that's incompatible with Mobile Safari.

>Maybe that's why you got the response you did

I don't see the connection. Why would you and farminmeow assume I know
things that I don't? You search for "Dragon Bane II walkthrough" or
Dragon Bane 2 walkthrough" on Google and that's what you find. There's
no date displayed at the top of the page or any message that pops up
that says "I'm creating this walkthrough at a time before the iPhone
was invented."

"Peace out?" That's a new one on me; not sure what it means (if only
it were summer I think I'd rather peach out), but assuming it's
friendly, Peace Out right back at'cha!

I have lost the rusty key and cannot adcance past the first level of the second dungeon. I think I got robbed by a thief! Thieves should not be able to steal important and/or quest items that you can't recover after killing them.

Hey Paul, you must know that the walkthrough you referenced was last
updated in 2000, right? You must also know that was well before the
first iPhone was released, right? Hm, I wonder why it doesn't work
well on the iPhone. Maybe that's why you got the response you did

I know that Dragon Bane II is available for more than
one platform, but the iPhone is definitely one of them.
You have to know that too, right? Yet you designed
your walkthrough site so that its data is inaccessible
through an iPhone's browser (Mobile Safari). You've
got to know that as well, don't you?

So what's the deal? Is there an alternate site that's
iPhone friendly, or maybe a browser trick I'm unaware
of?

Please help me with this!

TIA

Danji above top of "DaragonBaneII" banner on group page you should
see link that reads "Edit Membership". Click there.
Go to step 2 on membership page and select "Web Only".
Then select "Save Changes" at bottom of page.

This should solve yuor problem.

Same here! I went through EVERYTHING, every corner and hallway, and I
do not have the rusty key. I got the strong man to move the wall, but
I only got the Soli key.

The walk-trough points to were I am SUPPOSED to get it, but I went
back, and nothing!

You're ok. You just did it the hard way.

So, I unwittingly killed the sleeping guard before I read the wall
saying not to. Am I totally screwed as far as getting into the prison
now? I'll be so mad if I have to start over. My characters are at
level 10!!!
