I had an incident of "sudden death" last night. Unfortunately, I
hadn't read this thread yet so I didn't know how to document the
situation to send in to Mythological. I'm playing Version 1.0.5 PPC
on an IPAQ HX2495 with Windows CE 5.0. I was in the sewer under
Talon Cloister, had just gone through the door requiring the bronze
key, and faced either a party of Eagle guards, or a lizard summoner
and lizards. I've had it happen facing either group. In the first
round of battle after encountering the "bad guys", Caleb dies with
full hit points. I didn't see any message indicating that anything
had hit him. And as I recall, Eagle guards don't use magic, so there
shouldn't have been any chance of anything other than a physical
attack in that case. Which means either Caleb took 50 HP of damage
from the baddies (Caleb apparently dies with full HP, which is
currently 50) and the game didn't display the HP correctly, or
there's a glitch in the game causing the death. The rest of the
party (in order) consisted of Unger, Heric, Mordor, and Poe, with
nobody in slot 6.

I have a save position just before this at the troll's teleporter,
and have replayed from this save point several times. About half the
time Caleb inexplicably dies in the first battle after I teleport
back to the sewer, no matter where the battle occurs and no matter
what monsters they face, and about half the time he doesn't.

I'll try and document this next time it happens.

Thanks for the reply, Simon! I understand about real life taking
precedence over gaming. I just hadn't seen any other references to
the Demelza sequel and was curious about it.

As for the other games... I had completely finished both DBI and DBII-
Kraan. I made it about 2/3 of the way through Demelza back when I
was playing the games regularly. Fantastic game! It wasn't lack of
interest that took me away, more so a lack of time. I think I'm
going to try to make the time to play my way through both DBII and
Demelza on my IPAQ. Just this morning I tried to enter the license
info from the Palm version of DBII into my IPAQ, and it won't take
it. So I'll need to re-register the games before I can play them all
the way through. I've only had the IPAQ for about a week, so it's
taking some time to locate equivalent Pocket PC apps for all the Palm
apps I've been using for the last several years.

Thanks again for the note!
Dale

Greetings!

I've been away from the DragonBane game world for a couple of years
now, and got re-interested when I upgraded my handheld. I went from a
Palm-based device to a Pocket-PC device, and was pleasantly surprised
to find that DBII works on my new IPAQ! While searching for the

Has Simon Jacobs said anything about plans for releasing this game?

Come to think of it, I do believe I had an elemental in slot 6.
I avoided a few fights, and it has not happened since.

I'll photograph it if it happens again.

I have had this happen a few times myself (also 1.0.5 PPC). However,
since I save so often, it hasn't really been a problem for me. That
being said, it would be nice to get it fixed, since it usually seems
to happen during a bigger fight (and you can't get out of the fight
until it is finished).

Hi,

I do not work for Mythological Software or Mighty Mighty Good Games.

That sounds strange that you can be dead with full hitpoints. When this
happens, do you have an elemental in slot six of the party?

For game reasons, you cannot save the game during combat. However when you exit
the program, it should save a temporary copy, even during combat.

Two ways you can document this bug. One, immediately when it happens, stop
playing Dragon Bane II "Return of Kra'an" (MSRK) and exit the program. When
you next synchronize your PPC, copy the MSRK saved game file and email it to
the appropriate people.

Two, when it happens stop, but do not exit the program. Get a video camera/
digital camera with video mode and make a video of your screen. Before making
the video, click on the menu -> options -> preferences. For preferences select
Combat Scroll Speed = Slowest, make sure Smooth Combat Scroll Text is an
unchecked box. While making the video, click on the menu -> options -> last
message. If you exit the program, the Last Message buffer is purged.

Well it just happened several times in a row. It usually happens
immediately after a foe has advanced or summoned a creature, and my
lead character chooses "attack" he is immediately dead.

I am baffled and frustrated because it is such a weird problem, and I
seem to be having trouble getting through this dungeon without it
happening.

I don't think anything like this has been reported in the 4 year
history of the game, but maybe someone else has heard of it.

One thing that can kill you during battle is poisoning, but you should
see a POISONED label by the character's name before he dies. If you
can mail a savegame to us that can reproduce the problem 100% of the
time, please let us know.

Version 1.0.5 PPC

Occasionally, within a battle, one of my characters (so far, it has
only been my lead) will suddenly become labeled DEAD. He may not even
have been hit, and still has all his HPs, he's just suddenly... dead!

Any explanation? Is this a bug? I didn't see any such message like
"<enemy> casts Death on xxx" or anything like that.

Frustrating, as I have to end up loading from my last save.

Hi,

Dragon Blossom is only available in the demo version. The demo version is fully
playable.

I cannot upload the latest version at this time, since the computer with the
.ZIP utility is currently broken. The latest version of Dragon Blossom is
identical, except for the addition of an HTML player's manual. Dragon Blossom
is unique, since it includes ALL files need to recompile it using the Dragon
Bane II Adventure Construction Kit (DB2ACK). Thus you can change anything
about the game you want.

The latest version of Saexgryth, an expanded version of Dragon Blossom (without
DB2ACK files) for sale, will be uploaded as soon as I can get a working .ZIP
utility.

Could you send me the full version (to nkulka3@...)?

Hi,

I was interested in creating my own adventures for Dragon Bane II. I
was wondering if someone could tell me where I could find available
mini/full adventures that I can use (to distribute for free at first,
then maybe charge if I get good at it).

I am looking for adventures that have a given range for PCs. For
example:
Party Chars. can go from levels 1 to 5 or 2 to 4.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Nikhil Kulkarni

The walkthrough instructions by Larry Fluckinger are correct; however,
what may help here is to look at the map after every step because
sometimes you will be transported in the middle of a hallway without
realizing it (and also sometimes turned around). That is why the
walkthrough mentioned sometimes backing up.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

If I remember correctly you have to trigger the strongman event by trying to move a wall in the sewers level 1.  Then stow a party member and pick up The strongman during the weekend.  Then go back to that wall and he’ll move it for you.

Hope this helps

Raymond,

Weekend in DragonBane 2 means daytime on Saturday or Sunday. Friday
does not count. Try to see if that works for you.

Good luck,

Hi there,

Has Max the strongman helped you out yet? The easiest way to answer
your question is to peek at the walkthrough for Dragon Bane II and
scroll to the Sewer 1 and Sewer 2 sections.

You can find this in the files section (Walkthrus /
Return_of_Kraan.txt) or message 1674.

Hope this helps,
Chris Kim (cysk)
