Ok, I give up. I have walked over ever square of Kra'an Lair II and
found not even the slightest hint of a Easter egg level. Somebody
please spell this out for me... another three hours of walking the
second level with level 17 characters draing of HP and SP is more than
I can take. haha.

Cheers

All you need is a Sorcerer or a Troglodyte in your party (who knows
spells up to Level 3) and you can simply cast Cure Daze or Cure
Insanity respectively. This works at any time, even during battles. If
your insane character carries Enchanted Berries, you can have him/her
eat it, which cures the insanity, but not during battle. (If another
character has the Berries, you're out of luck, you can't give anything
to an insane character.) Sorcerers and Troglodytes can cast Cure
Insanity spells on themselves (but once again not during battle).

Hi,

I do not work for Mythological Software.

To install Dragon Bane II, you need to install 4 files on the Zire 72:

DrgBane2.prc
ReturnKraan.pdb
Tile256Shade.pdb
Wall256Shade.pdb

If you do not have these 4 files, you can go to:

Downloading it from mythological software will give you the
color version as part of the pack... if you're running a
Palm OS system, you have to load one and only one tile
version for both the TILE* and WALLS* files - 4 color (b&w),
16 shade (grey) and 256 shade (full color).

... Bruce (I don't work at Mythological either)

Assuming you have a troglodyte in your party, leave it in an inn.
Then go back to the crypt. Once done, go back and pick up your
troglodyte.

if it is not loading up at all then you have to open the file from whereever you downloaded it, the file is probably compressed and you have to unzip it.  if itis loading but not in color then you have downloaded the grey scale version probably.  delete that version from your computer and palm pilot and d.l. the right one. make sure that your version palm is either hi resolution or low resolution or it will not work..if it is a zire 31 color,    that is low resolution if you have a treo or something like that then you need the higher resolution version.

I've been really enjoying DragonBane II with the help of the
wonderful
walkthrough I found with this group and I've almost made it to the
end
of the game when I've gotten stuck.

Here's my problem. I've found Kra'an, let him talk then had a brief
combat before the game let me run away, then the walkthrough says I'm
supposed to go talk to Helix who will tell me the dragonbane isn't
complete, and then he will make a Portal into Kra'an's Lair 2.

The only trouble is I've talked to him and I can't seem to see any
portal. Helix says "Make haste! Equip your Dragon Bane sword and
find
Kra'an in his lair."

I suspect that I have missed a step, so if someone can help me out to
either find out what that step is, or where the heck Helix put his
portal I would truly appreciate it.

Thanks so much.

JB

Hi Glenn,

Thank you for your very kind words. That's all it takes to have made
the
effort for the walkthrough worthwhile (meaning, it actually has helped
someone!). However, I can only take credit for the Demelza walkthrough.

Larry Fluckinger deserves the credit for both the Dragon Bane and the
Dragon Bane II walkthroughs. I only tried to emulate his style but gave
up and just put down the raw elements for the walkthrough.

Best wishes,
Chris

Hi JB,

Thanks for the kind words. I wrote the walkthrough. One day, I'll find
the time to walkthrough again and correct the typos. You are almost at
the end!

That area with the Chamber of Horrors / Surprise / Dismay is not very
linear. I did not fill in the information linearly but rather whereever
relevant as I came across it. Just look further down the walkthrough
for
the Ivory key.

The easiest way is to search through the text file for "ivory".
According to my walkthrough, the Ivory key is in the CoS (Chamber of
Surprise) (10,8) You may want to look at my walkthrough backwards from

Let me or Simon know if you need further help.

And the Bane Handle!!!

Thanks again for helping me over this hump. Saying the chamber
was "non-linear" really helped a lot.

Once again, thanks for helping me really enjoy this game.

Hi JB,

Thanks for the kind words. I wrote the walkthrough. One day, I'll find
the time to walkthrough again and correct the typos. You are almost at
the end!

That area with the Chamber of Horrors / Surprise / Dismay is not very
linear. I did not fill in the information linearly but rather
whereever relevant as I came across it. Just look further down the
walkthrough for the Ivory key.

The easiest way is to search through the text file for "ivory".
According to my walkthrough, the Ivory key is in the CoS (Chamber of
Surprise) (10,8) You may want to look at my walkthrough backwards from
that point to correspond to where you are.

Let me or Simon know if you need further help.

Good luck,
Chris Kim (cysk)

Can anybody help me find the Ivory key? I've been doing great with
this game up until this point and am now stuck.

The wonderful walkthrough which I found in this group has been
invaluable but it only mentions using the Ivory key, not how to find it.

All help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

JB

If you have *equipped* the DRAGON BANE sword (incomplete), faced
KRA'AN, returned to HELIX, used HELIX's portal to find the missing
piece of the DRAGON BANE sword, returned to HELIX and had the DRAGON
BANE sword completed, you might just need some strategy ideas. Try
the below discussion:

Hi x9_tim,

Have you equipped the DRAGONBANE SWORD?

Equipping v. Using Items (or Re: First Impressions)

I do not know if Mythological Software has changed it, but they were
talking about fixing it so an unequipped, DRAGONBANE SWORD would
trigger HELIX saying "oops, incomplete".

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Really? What level is your party? I've beaten him with a level 14
party (which was somewhat tough), anything higher than that should be
no problem (of course the higher the better). Once I've beaten him
with a level 30 party (keep killing enemies on level 21/22 and don't
train new levels), that was so funny... He never had a chance.

Search this forum, you'll find lots of tips on defeating him.
Basically all you'll need is a good a way of bringing him closer
(one/two knights or a thief with lots of sunfruits, casting NEAR FOE,
or a couple of WAND OF ATTRACTIONS for the spell casters). What will
also help: Ensir always casting DISSPELL, so that the Greater Demons
that Kra'an casts can't take away your Shield, and a dwarf casting
Belligerence (double the chance of hitting Kra'an).

You do know that you need the gemstone of balance to complete the
sword, right? You have to hit Kra'an at least once with the incomplete
sword and then visit Helix again.

No. Remember when I sent you a list of why I didn't like it? (You took
some of my negative comments as compliments.) I've completed it a few
times when I purchased it and wrote a walkthough, but I don't like it
enough to replay it that often.
