Why not read the walkthru posted with the DB2 group files?
You really need to follow the path of clues you get from the King, barkeeps, Helix and the leader at Arbor Crest. Once you have the sewer key copy you have to free Soli in Arbor Crest before you can get any more keys (except for the ones that work inside the sewer).
Since I know you want a direct answer to your question: steal it from a chest at 10,5 in the Goblin Palace.

Simon,
I have purchased Princess Demelza.
I am in the main celler (4,9)in the safe house. There is a torch
holder at this point and there was a torch in it, which I toke. I can
see that at this spot where one would exit, but nothing happens, the
wall will not move. I can not find any switches any where on any
walls or trying to move the other torch holders. What am I missing?
Regards,
Mike Quinn
The king will give it to you when you are at that point in your
quest.

Simon,
I am too far ahead to do that, so I had to start over. If you could
send a link to download that would be help full. Can you do that?
One other question, the last version is 1.42, is there later version
with the bug fix in it? And where would I get it?
Thanks,

Hi, Friends - being quite new to DBII myself, I thought I'd pass along a few "lessons learned" for others. Most of all, have fun!
An excellent resource for learning many of the ins-and-outs of the game, suggested strategies and the like, are to be found in the excellent DBII manual which you can download at www.mythological.com It downloads as an html file which you can then view/study offline. Although I've had to ask for hints when I've really gotten frustrated or stuck (thanks, guys!), I keep reading through the manual to pick up more knowledge about how to play and what kinds of situations I can expect to occur.
Another other tip is to really pay attention to what the King and other characters tell you about your current quest and follow their directions exactly, because there are usually clues in the text that will make sense later - jot them down in a notebook if you want. Many of the panicky questions that are posted from new players have already been answered - or can be answered - by the King and bartenders when you tip them. Again, listen to the directives give to you and follow them.
Another tip is to always approach any skulls in the walls throughout your quests. They "speak" and will offer you important information.
Give yourself time to solve a particular puzzle before you really give up and ask for a hint from the forum. Take a break, put the game down and think about the current puzzle you're working on and what strategies you might not have tried yet.
You can also go to the forum's website, click on messages and you'll see a search box for message archives. You can put in something a keyword for something you're struggling with. Chances are, someone else has struggled through it too, and all the messages relating to that issue will come up. Try not to read the "spoilers" though unless you're so stuck that you simply can't make any more progress in the game.
There is no sewer key. You get a replica of it from the leader of Talon Cloister, after you have freed Unger by talking to Helix. You have to finish the King's first quest to be able to talk to Helix and free Unger.
It isn't a graveyard in the NE part of the map. The graveyard is somewhere else and its key will not get you past those trees. To get past the trees you'll have to perform the quest you get from the leader of Talon Cloister.

But if you're doing that, you're *not following your current quest*. The King starts you off with a specific quest - to investigate a problem (which leads you into the cellars in town). [Talk to bartenders, and bribe the one the king told you to, and check out all the buildings] - you don't need to leave town for the first quest. Once that is done, the king gives you a second quest. When you do that, you get directions to do something specific, where you get the sewer key and you can go forward. Once done all that, you get into the next step, which lets you into the area on the upper left. The Graveyard is much later on, and you'll get the key at the appropriate time.
What's your current quest? (The king will repeat himself any time you want to hear what he said last time)

Just finished (on the flight home from a business trip) DBII (Kra'an) with the single character wizard Mordor in 120 game days. I believe you can play the game through and win with any single character except Tesser (Trog) because of his light characteristic (keeps you from the ressurecting Timu).
I have already reported this next "issue": be aware that the game reduces max hits to 999 if they go over 1000 when you use an item that affects hits. It does the same with spell points if you use an item that affects spell points (and have more than 1000 max spell points). It also reduces actual hit points to max if you have more than your max and rest.
Two more unreported (minor) issues:
If you play with the lone thief, you still get the message you feel lighter at the trap(s) that steal stuff from your party even though he doesn't lose anything from inventory.
If you have a lone thief, the burgler can steal money from the party, even though it's not supposed to be possible to steal from a thief.
A problem, but not really insolvable unless you have no one in your party who can teleport you out of the prison (but, then you have larger problems). Just take him to the temple. Or to town to get someone who can cast cure insanity on him.
After all he is insane and as such might be unwilling to accept an item, even an item that might cure him.

Look in the files on the DB2 Yahoo group for the FAQ.
There is a lot more beyond the wilderness.
There is a switch in the cellar near the door...you don't have to pick its lock. The thief can use the pick option when you open a chest -- other characters cannot.

maybe you should first browse through the main game page at www.mythological.com, I guess you will find lots of good advice out there. As for the thief, just look through the pubs in New Treleon.
My advice is: before you go down to cellars, just pick up your party, get out of town using the south gate, and spend some time in the wilderness fighting easy monsters. You will get used to your characters, learn how to fight, adapt to weapons, armor etc., and last not least upgrade your party levels before the story really starts. But you may choose to go down instantly, whatever.
As for towns, there are plenty of them out there but you will enter them when the right time comes.
Good luck Rani

There is an exact way to walk & get past the force field. Try different
directions, one step at a time. Each time you take a successful step, save
then try another direction... Also look at your map carefully & try & only
walk on pressure plates not squares marked as a pit?!

Finally I finished Princess Demelza!
I really enjoyed this game.
I ran it on my PalmVx.
My team looked like this by the time I finished:
Name Level
-------------
Qwinn 19
Gyrko 17 (along from the beginning)
Kopos 18
Mordor 17 (along from the beginning)
Celex 18
When I sold my gear when I finished I had 20423 gold.
In the end where you meet 2 Ta'Kall I wasn't prepared
so I took a chance and selected run twice, and I could pass
them and open the chest without a fight. Should that be
possible?
Although it was a very large adventure I must say that I
was a little surprised when it ended. I thought I was to
put the DragonBane together and then go fight some dragons or so.
If I should mention a negative thing (which is really hard), then
I must say I miss some difficult fights. Against dragons
for example.
I really enjoyed the Easter Egg level. Thanks Simon!
Interesting reading.
I was hoping for a more difficult fight against Demelza's
Little Pet. I beat it pretty easy.
A tip if you are out of spell-points. I placed myself at (6,27)
in Darion Grove facing the Backpacker Hut. Then I just backed
up against the tree. It takes a while to build up your spell-points
this way, but it free. I really appreciated the Backpacker Huts.
Thanks Simon for making my trip to and from work enjoyable.

The latest registered version of Demelza no longer has this problem. Just go
back to the saved game before you used the torch key & it will work fine.
By the way, I never received a file from your friend.

In case you haven't started your first quest yet: Go talk to the king. He will give you 20 gold the first time you talk to him. Go tip the bartender in the inn in the sw part of town. Take his advice and find the inn in the ne corner of town after dark. Tell the bartender there the password. (It is also written on a wall in town somewhere near the nw part.) Take the ladder down into the cellar. You need to find the statue in the cellar. Take it to the king. Follow his advice and take it to Helix. Follow his advice and go see the Arbor Crest leader who will give you the key to the sewers.
