Thanks for the suggestions for the walkthough from you and everyone else. I have updated my copy of the walkthough with your suggestions, and I've also clarified the 'Hurry Up' puzzle discussed earlier. I'll post the updated walkthrough in a week or so.

I am going through DB2 for the second time and trying to verify parts
of the walkthrough - am up to Kra'an's Lair 1.
For Kra'an's Lair 1, I have a couple of suggestions:
1) Make a note that you can pick up a Staff of Kinesis at 11,3 with 4
charges that renews when the Weird sphere is used. You should pick up
the Staff before starting in the NW room. This will help save spell
points in casting Open Portal.
2) Clarify the note for the East room - the chest for the Weird
Sphere reappears after you leave the room in case you need to go
there again via the NW room to get another Weird sphere.
