Sorry, wrong sewer, wrong game.
In the sewer 1 at 2,20 you should be in front of one of the corridors
that you mention. At the end of this one is a button which you should press.
As you move through this corridor check the map. You should find
that you are being transported to adjacent corridors. When you get to the right
most corridor turn around and head south to another wall with a button. Press it,
then head north again. This opens up the rest of the map.
I hope I have it right this time.
