The items being lost when checking into the inn bug was fixed with version 1.1.3.  I'm not aware of any other bug that allows items to be lost, so if you lost segment 1 some way other than by checking into the in (in a version before 1.1.3) then I need to know how, when, and any other details you can provide so that we can track down this (potential?) bug and fix it.
