I had an incident of "sudden death" last night. Unfortunately, I
hadn't read this thread yet so I didn't know how to document the
situation to send in to Mythological. I'm playing Version 1.0.5 PPC
on an IPAQ HX2495 with Windows CE 5.0. I was in the sewer under
Talon Cloister, had just gone through the door requiring the bronze
key, and faced either a party of Eagle guards, or a lizard summoner
and lizards. I've had it happen facing either group. In the first
round of battle after encountering the "bad guys", Caleb dies with
full hit points. I didn't see any message indicating that anything
had hit him. And as I recall, Eagle guards don't use magic, so there
shouldn't have been any chance of anything other than a physical
attack in that case. Which means either Caleb took 50 HP of damage
from the baddies (Caleb apparently dies with full HP, which is
currently 50) and the game didn't display the HP correctly, or
there's a glitch in the game causing the death. The rest of the
party (in order) consisted of Unger, Heric, Mordor, and Poe, with
nobody in slot 6.
I have a save position just before this at the troll's teleporter,
and have replayed from this save point several times. About half the
time Caleb inexplicably dies in the first battle after I teleport
back to the sewer, no matter where the battle occurs and no matter
what monsters they face, and about half the time he doesn't.
I'll try and document this next time it happens.
