Hi,
I released Dragon Blossom -- for free -- in August, and have gotten
zero feedback (Note 1). Several people are working on editing
tools, so I expected to get some response to releasing levels you
can change and examine (Note 2). I am worried because Dragon Bane
II "Return of Kra'an" (MSRK) is the only game I have heard of were
developers did not release the level files so you could alter the
levels with the level editor. I expect more people to be buying
competing games like Edge or Legacy (Note 3) next year. Legacy also
has a level editor and has won several awards that MSRK won when it
first came out.
One of our Saexgryth™(tm) Beta testers, Simon, has given me very
good feedback on problems involving installation, Pocket PC and
starting the game. As far as I know, all bugs have been discovered
at this time, wide release will most likely cure me of this
perception.
I am looking to have a small group give me more detailed feedback,
especially on what to include in the game's manual. Except for the
lack of manual, Saexgryth™(tm) appears to be ready for release.
Sincerely yours,
William
A Hobby That Pays, Inc.
Note 1) I expected some comments on the revamped classes, spells and
items.
Note 2) I expected people to change the levels I have released and
post those changes for other's to play.
Note 3) Legacy and Edge require Palm OS 5 and 320 x 320 display or
Pocket PC. With Palm OS 6 nowhere in site people who are holding
onto Palm OS 4 and 160 x 160 display PDA will probably be replacing
them this Christmas.
If it were not for Palm OS 6 and the Treo 600's lack of a
replaceable battery, I would have bought a Treo 600 last year. Now
with the Treo 650's removable battery and the delay of Palm OS 6, me
and several friends are buying one of the following models: Treo
650, Zodiac 2 or Tungsten E. All of these will let us play Edge and
Legacy.
