Gee, congratulations on finding a way to cheat. Personally, I prefer to play the game and meet its challenges as they come. I also restarted the game, but I did it because I wanted to try out a different group of characters. My team of Caleb, Tesser, Mordor, Ensir and Poe are now up to Level 12, not through messing with the programming but through patience, hard work and careful strategizing. They are about to hit the graveyard and start that part of the adventure.
Having three magic users has its challenges. However, I have found that with some magical amplification to his agility Poe has become an effective second archer (Tesser is my main archer) while Mordor can wield a bone axe and magical weapons as well as serving as the heavy artillery when needed with his native abilities. Ensir both handles magical weapons for the heavier battles and uses spells such as Sun Sprite, which let him regenerate the spell points he uses, at other times.
I don't think I need your method.

Hey guys! I finished DB2:ROK a while back and started again. I
didn't like being a weakling all over again, so I found a way to edit
my characters right on my palm. Write down the values under
statistics in the game and use the hex below to convert them. Then
SAVE your game and then with a program called RsrcEdit open the file
called Drg2SaveMSRK. This will give you a list starting at 0 and
going to 8. The 0 file is the temp and cannot be edited! (DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO EDIT FILE 0!!!!) File 1 is the game you saved (assumming
you have not saved any other game in the works!) Scroll down (in the
hex editor) untill you find the name of the character you want to
modify and do so by fiding the hex values you got from the ingame
statistics and increasing there value. (i.e. - if the strenght of a
character is 10 in the hex that canverts to 0A. I would find this
value in the hex under the character name where I got the 10 from and
change it to 20. Now When i RELOAD my saved game this chracters
strenght is now 32 instead of 10!!) DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THE
CHARACTERS NAME UNLESS THE NAME YOU ARE CHANGING IT TO HAS THE SAME
AMOUNT OF LETTERS!!! You must stop editing three spaces from the
next characters name or you will delete it! Save your changes by
clicking 'done' and and open your saved game in DB2 (i.e. - RELOAD
IT) and look at your changes. Write down the values under statistics
in the game and use the hex below to convert them and then go looking
for them in the hex under the right character name or just play
around with it untill you have all your stats maxed out and beyond!
I am now a level 255 knight!
There are even some special items that you can only use by editing
your game file this way! (Such as 'light lite full armor and
invisiblity cloak' which makes you invisible to the monsters [but you
can still attack them!] it gives off enough lite so you'll never use
a torch again, and it's a lite full set of armor that cannot be
pierced)
DO NOT EDIT ANY FILE IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND OR HAVE ACCESS TO
SOMEONE THAT UNDERSTANDS HEX!
DO NOT TRY TO EDIT AND SAVE GAME FILES YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE BECAUSE
THIS CAN HAPPEN!
