Hello,
I just want to let you know we are approx. 1 year from VGS'08 (decide to move the show back to July for next year, since the first three shows had a good turn out compared to the August show we did last year). So to anybody who was either on committee last year(Corey, Emily,Paul, and Julian)and wants to continue or anybody who wasn't on the committee but wants help out please let me know.
here is the basics right now what the show needs:
1.Sponsorship committee: help contacting potential sponsors(and or vendors)*
2.Raffle/Tournament committee: basically help with the raffles and tourneys**
3.General Help:these are people who will be working with main committee members listed above(also will help with greeting people at main table)
*the main person on Sponsorship committee will have partial access to the eventbrite page
which is sending out the e-mail e-vites from there as receive notices from attendees and view the invoices(and help manage the orders)
** people on this committee have the following jobs:
  1. decide what prize(s) go to either the raffle or tourney
  2. organize the time table for the tourneys(the raffles are going be schedule by me which are usually about every 2 hours)
  3. and keep track of the winners and report them to me or who ever is working the main table when I'm busy)
threes one small detail I left out:(it's basically hinted on the VGS layout page(which isn't going to change unlike last year when it switched three formats)) the raffles are serving a second purpose next year, it's being used as way to pick out contestants for our new game show based on a popular caller game show. can't tell you what it is now because it's going to be officially announced end of the year.
if your interested in becoming part of the committee please e-mail me privately at videogamesummit@... and I will fill you in on more details.
Thank you
Daniel Iacovelli
PS. I've already made a new web banner and buttons for the show we don't have to do that.
also we are going to have new fliers made and a brand new promotional poster based on the TG poster made us for last year.

Justa couple quick updates:
Westchester park district contacted me today(via e-mail)
and as I figured they don't have net access, and they told me no money can change hands
so that leaves out thier place for VGS'08(it also leaves out location for local meetings becvause they don't lease out the place)
Also look for announcemnt for volunteers for VGS'08 after MGC and CGE, I plan to
announce the location and date around that time as well(plus a few changes to register for tables and such)

Seeing how I haven't gotten much of response out of the poll(I'm keeping it up until end Feb
just to see how the interest is)
I have choosen 2 possible dates:
March 18th,2007  and April 15th,2007 (both meeting are slated to beign at 2:30pm)
(and both are sundays) usally on sundays I get off before 2pm.
in case I happen get off at  2pm (or even 1:45pm :like this sunday was) the meeting will beignat 3pm. (in case I get off at 2:30pm the meeting will be canceled and maybe rescheuled durring the fall)
Basicly the meeting schedule will be like this:
years when I have VGS: we will only do two meetings March and April
when I don't do the show: we will do 4 meetings March and April(summer break from may to august) resume in the fall(dates to TBD) Also there might be an gathering simlar to what DP guys do(they usally go out Ceders point or an amusment park, what we prob do is go to either Enchanted Castle,Safari Land or maybe kiddieland(or maybe hit the swrap O rama in melrose park) this is basicly up in the air at this time) there might be Swap meet scheduled on the year there is no Show(this is also up in the air)
As of right now, the dates mentioned are not set yet(I have to drop the paper off at the libary
(of which is where our meetings are going be at) I'll keep you updated as soon I hear back from them.

Hello,
I'm sending this to you to inform you that effective today the Atari Zone Fanzine is now Quarterly. so instead of 6 issues you will only receive 4 issues. that's not the format of the newsletter is back to our original layout which is similar to the Jagfest issues(2 column layout inside and a cover) plus the fee is now lowered to 9.00 (if you pay by credit card or paypal) or 8.00 if you pay by check or money order. you can use this invite to subscribe (a link to the subscription page is included).
one final note effective today, I am no longer editor of newsletter, I have selected David Behnke (who was an editor before in the early years) to replace me,I'm staying on as publisher and I'm continuing writing club related articles as well as some other articles.
if you are interested in doing an article for newsletter let me know and I'll send you Dave's e-mail addy.(all articles must be Atari related and it can cover anything from Atari consoles, computers or games that for other systems)

Also effective Jan.1st I'm going be stepping down as editor of The Atari Zone, I've already chosen the new editor and he was the editor of the fanzine before so I can trust him with it.
I'll more information about it after the first of jan. Planning for VGS'08 will start as soon as I contact a couple places I had my eye on in the past, the comittee people already know where I'm talking about( I really don't want to return to fairfield, the first two shows got off with outa hitch, the last two had a few downsides(tables wasn't set up I wanted for '05 and '06
and in '06 they didn't have the show listed in the video directory in the place)
basicly what I'm looking at now is place near by ohare airport(there are two,but I'm not what two,but one is closer to airport then the other, the major plus side to both is resturants are real close by(you might say one has on the premisis(that might game away one location right there :) )

working. I
do have to work some weekends.
