just letting you the AVC Website has been updated last night
with the addition of the AVC News Stand.
The News Stand will have the back issues listed with prices for normal print
versions(color and b/w) and cafepress.com

Currently listed at News Stand pages are the first.second and final Jagfest
issues (the VGS program was listed on the site but I took it down for now
but it still listed at cafepress.com)
Also since it will be a while before I get all the issues up at cafepress.com
I have linked the back issues pages to the News Stand.

Atari Video Club/Jaguar Community United is pleased
to announce the following events for The 2004 Video Game Summit:
the 2004 Video Game Summit on July 17th, 2004 from 9am to 6pm at
  the Fairfield Inn and suites(Formly Quality inn and Suites)
(Heron point building),645 West North Ave, Lombard, IL 60148.

The show will have various computer and Video games shown thanks to the
following vendors and exhibitors: Atari Video Club/Jaguar Community
United(Atari users group),
Jim Gobel, Johnny Armstrong, MobyGames.com(Online Video game database),
Mike Dullman(Colecovision sales and demo),Play and view.com(New and used Video
games)
, Suburban Chicagian Atarians user group(Atari computer user group),Terrance
Williams
,Tom Legare, Tom Mage.com(Vintage video and computer games(specilizes in
Ultima)),
Ye Oldie Infocomme Shoppe(Vintage Computer and Video games (specilizes in
Infocom games)).
AVC/JCU will also be selling Video Game Summit t-shirts and hats as well as
selling
limited copies of Thier final Jaguar Festival issue of their newsletter(the
Atari Zone).)

The show offically starts off at 9am and our first tournament
is at 10am on the 2600: Escape from the Mind Master.
at 11:30am starts off round 1 of 5 of an elimination tournament(called Spy
Games)
  that player gets eliminated after each round of game play for not guessing
which
  player is a spy(the Spy is the player selected to mess up the scoring)
(other rounds are scheduled about 2 hours a part)
at 5:45pm the final round of Spy games take place on Atari Jaguar using
Tempest 2k in a winner takes all game Spy vs Player using one 1 life each
to beat one level. the prize is evry prize frome each round of Spy games)
(this tounament is subject to change)
At noon we will be having our first raffle out of 5 each with great prize
other raffles will be held at 2:30pm,3:30pm,5pm and 5:45pm.
At 1:30pm we will have a Classic Reactor tournament on the 2600.
our second classic tournament on the 2600 will be at 3pm this time using
Sega's Frogger on the 2600 Starpath SuperCharger.
at 5pm one hour before the show closes, We will holding a grab bag raffle
if a person picks a certain prize that person will win a Video Game Summit
T-shirt.
then at 6pm the show will officaly end.

There is still time to register:addmission cost will be free to general public,

and table cost will be $15.00 each.

To register for tables fill out the form at the VGS website. This will Send you
to
an E-vite for tables sign up which will ask you the following:
will you attend,  #of people
attending including you,# of tables (limit 4),
  type of tourneys you like to see as well as the information on how to
pay either by mail or online ( a pay pal link is included in the e-vite)
   And what supplies you like to bring (Extra items are welcome incase we are
short))
For General Addimission: the is a link at Web site that will send you to
the E-vite for General addmission which has everything that the Tables E-vite
has except
for information on the tables.

Atari Video Club/Jaguar Community United is pleased to announce
the information concerning The Final Jagfest issue.
The final issue of The Atari Zone's Jagfest issue will be
sold at Goat Store's Midwest Gaming Classic show on may 22nd and 23rd in
Milwaukee,WI.
This issue is very different from the others because
it has reports from each show from 1997 (the first Jagfest show held in
Rosemont,IL) to 2003(the year the show went on tour and
became part of other gaming shows),
Pictures from each show and reviews of the most popular
games.Plus you see what the organizers of each show thought
about the show.
the issue is 66 pages long(the largest newsletter made by the
Atari Video Club). The cost of the issue will be $7.00 at the
show (this copy is black and white front to back)
(after they run out I'll be taking orders for them for
the same price,All orders taken at the show will be for
the issue at VGS Shop mentioned bellow)
After the show until end of June you can buy the issue with a color cover
for $9.00 at the VGS shop (http;//www.cafeshops.com/vgs )
then the issue will be moved to new AVC news stand
for $10.97.The news stand will be added to back issue pages
at AVC online website around July 1st with final fest issue

details for Spy Games tourney.  For those who don't know what Spy Games is
here's the basics:
The tourney style will be known as Spy Games in which eight players will be
chosen to compete in games in order to add prizes to final prize package and
one of the eight players will be known as the Spy, a player who was chosen to
make sure the prizes don’t get added. (If this sounds familiar to you it should
because I got the idea after watching “Celebrity Mole” on ABC-TV (I also
thought about doing something like this last year,but never went through with
it)) Also like the TV show, after each game a quiz will be taken about each
player to figure out who is the Spy, the player who scored low on the
quiz will be eliminated. Now here’s the twist, there will be no exemptions, so
everybody is a risk, plus at the end of tourney The Spy will get a chance to
win the prize package when the Spy will play against the player who figured out
who is the Spy. Also visitors to the show will be able to guess who is the Spy
(hint’s will be hidden the program, plus  they will be able to watch the
players as well).
Now For the details on how to enter a chance to take part in Spy Games:
You entry is based on your high score of one of the games listed below.
2600: Star Wars: Death Star Battle
5200: Defender
7800:Xevious
Lynx:Remmant
Jaguar: Protector(it can be Regular or Special Edition version)
(You must be able to attend the The 2004 Video Game Summit to enter)
submit you scores as often as you like(the higher the score the
better your chances)
you must play the game you have chosen(you Can Not change the game)
Submit you scores by e-mailing me using the subject "Spy Games" or
online at the Atari Bowl page(formerly the Atari Mania page) at
AVC online(a button to the Atari Bowl page is at the VGS registration
on the information form) Your score will be listed on the Atari bowl stnadings

Summit.
Also for every tenth table sold that person will get a white VGS t-shirt.

curently for VGS as atari area goes: we will have a our Lynx section
return: Tom L and his 8 lymx , so that covered, some jaguars are needed
though I do plan on bringing mine with the jaglink and BS and doom.
and a bunch of carts. I don't think I'll bring my 2600 unless it needed.
as MGC goes: well, I'm just planning doing a AVC/JCU table fanzines binder and
my jag.
if you want to do the jagfest stuff there that will be cool with me I'll try to
help out too. I don't know how the Lynx section is going be done. (I Think goat
store is setting that up)
btw: tables at VGS: 15.00 each. if you need tables I'll send a link to an
e-vite
or the e-vite itself.

Well, I can't say much for the rest of the shows, I might be able to go to
the IL. AVC, but I'd sure like to help at the MGC. But is it going to be
focusing on Jaguar or Atari in general? I have lots of Atari equipment, but
I'd really like to see a good Jagfest at MGC too. I mean one with multiple
tournaments and Jaglinking and lots of rare protos and such. I have 2-3

Just letting you know that AVC Online has been updated recently.
right now it's just the Meetings page at the site.
heres a whats new on the page:
Delted deadlink to JFPN chat
added a new chat link to Play and view.com chat room (net meeting tomarrow)
organizined the chat listings according to dates.
delted the e-mail link and replaced it with a form for easier way to comunicate
with me.
Also starting now: any net meeeting that gets listed on the site will be added
to calander on the JCU yahoo club mailing list calander(if your not on that
list

I just thought I'll tell you about the VGS chat that are being held at the
atari hangout chat room ( http://www.jrthompson.org/atari/ ) every Subday
Time varies depends on my work schedule (be sure to check the VGS site every
Thursady after 6pm for times of the chat(s)on the ticker.

Also just wondering how many of you here on this list is interested in coming
to show or getting a table. (chances are I won't be planning a local IL meeting
for while since my work schedule won't give me enough time for it unless we do

known as Fourms) it was ran by beseen.com when they dropped their free
service(which was also our orginal mailing list server(listbot) too) we were
with out a
fourm. Now I have decided to restart the forum.
The new forurm (called AVC Fourms)can be found at the atari fourms at
